It didn't work for me just now--if you google his name and "CR" you should find his website, with clear links to his standard diet.

Just kidding. I like cacao and goji too! But I don't *need* them, or always have them.

Rolfing! I finally committed to doing ten sessions (expensive!) and after the seventh, I fianally notice a drastic change. It was SO worth it. Yoga, stretching, and strength training have been helpful adjuncts--the last of which shocked me. I thought since I was tight, I didn't need to work my muscles any more. But it turned out that some side back muscles were working overtime, and my trapzius n

Maybe I misunderstood--but you can eat raw the rest of the time, and just eat the cooked when you have the commitments. Are you eating raw now, or wiaitng until after this last thing?

I love this, dzm. If I'm going to eat something, I'm going to enjoy it unapologetically, no matter what it is. I chose to eat it, after all. And if I don't feel physically good afterwards, I might not want to eat it again, but I won't regret what I did, either.

1. I don't know how much I spend on groceries, and don't want to know right now. 2. Organic leafy greens always. I primarily consider organics a very important donation, to not ravage the earth so much with nasty ag methods. And I can't *always* do it. But conventional leafy greens...too many pesticides Also persimmons when in season--I spent ridiculous amounts of money on them. Mangos are wo

I like your story GypsyArdor! My boyfriend said the same about my legs, so I stopped. And then he started getting weirded out by bare underarms, so I stopped that. I am proud to have hit (and passed) puberty!

Spinach with lemon/lime. Maybe celery. If you don't like V-8, I can't think of anything else, really, they all taste V-8-ish to me.

Thanks! Despite what I said (cilantro is yummy!), I agree that rotating greens is the best idea--to maximize nutrients and minimize toxins.

The oxalic acid doesn't actually make the bones leach calcium, it just inhibits absorption of the calcium you consume. But your body has lovely mechanisms for adjusting absorbance of minerals (since too much is dangerous), and will increase absorption of calcium if needed (such as here, where you are having a fair amount of oxalic acid). I love cilantro and would eat a whole bunch most days i

I am interested in what others say, but I wanted to ask if you were drinking caffienated beverages before? Sometimes when we stop consuming stimulants, we get more in touch with what our body needs--and it may be more sleep than we were getting before. I too have been getting 6-9 hours of sleep, and at 6-7 I feel awful, at 8-9 I feel great (though I realize this is individual of course!).

I can't find the information I was looking for on this topic--to show citations and all. But generally, I don't think it is really something that needs to be avoided. Those are incredibly healthy foods! The dairy industry has really been pushing this oxalic acid issue to make dairy look beneficial and necessary--they say it inhibits absorption of minerals, so be careful! But the body has mech

Too bad about the pie. But, I'm not sure why it would be a Minnesota thing. I've lived here my whole life, so I guess I don't know the stereotypes from outside (lutefisk and hot dish? I don't know anyone who eats these things!)--but I would guess most people are addicted to their addictions and don't want to try anything from outside that. Also, I am personally soaked from biking in the slush

Try the Ann Wigmore Institute or Hippocrates, perhaps? Also, maybe it's okay if a place isn't everything you want--also remember that the overall "vibe" or feeling of a place may change as different people pass through, as they often are at these types of places. It's hard to say without being there, if you will get enough out of it to be worth it.

Some of us eat a lot! Others have very slow metabolism, perhaps, which is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as they eat very high quality food.

Oh, sad. Better to be safe than sorry. But it's cool to even be able to SAY to have an avocado plant, so if you find a safe spot, I saw go for it.

There was a post on this recently if you do a search. Yes, you can get it to grow; if you live in a temperate climate, the chance of it fruiting is almost zero. The chance of it flowering alone is almost zero. The leaves are pretty, though.

Yes, and when you need less calories to maintain or lose, you are able to better practice caloric restriction. Caloric restriction is based on absolute calories, from what I've read. Goes totally against all those magazine articles on "firing up the metabolism". It may help you lose weight to have a faster metabolism but will make you age faster.

I had a raw sweet potato pie from a raw restaurant that was HEAVENLY--just like regular. I think it had dates and avocado, and who knows what else. When I did it, it was chunky and didn't really taste like much. I bet spices add a lot.

When the smell of chlorine starts to bother you, it is probably too much. But up to a certain point, I think the enjoyment of it can outweigh the chemical risk (I do it rarely so I never worry, for example).

Yacon tastes starchy and not that sweet to me. The dried mulberries don't taste NEARLY as flavorful as the fresh ones. But I still like them, I like dried fruit. Jungle peanuts, I just tried briefly so I'm not sure--but didn't seem as good as the regular (albeit mold-infested peanuts). But I need to try them again. Anyone else have input on them? Incan berries are tart, I didn't love them. I'd

I agree that most but not *all* physical problems in the body come from emotional issues. Once a car hit me when I was biking (not too hard, and I had a helmet on). I walked home and cried (it was scary, and it was good emotional release to cry). But I had some bumps and bruises that took a few weeks to heal. Then it was over. Saying there were emotional issues would be reading too much into it.

Much of it may be water weight/bloat initially--especially if you have cut out salt. I would give it a bit more time before worrying.
