I've been raw for a little over 2 months and I've lost weight (even though I'm getting tons of calories). When I started, I was 5'3" and weighed 112. That had been my weight for over 10 years. I was an avid runner (2.5 miles about 3 times a week)...which probably helped keep my weight so stable. Last week, I was shocked to see that I weighted 104 lbs. Also, I stopped running about 1.5 mon

Thanks for all your responses. I think I still a ways to go before I give up my makeup completely, but at least I've gotten rid of my MAC cosmetics. I was at the gym recently and I couldnt help but notice how the foundation seemed to change into some white-grayish stuff that would clump underneath my fingernails if I ran them over my skin. It really grossed me out. I've since been trying t

I was wondering (ladies)...What kind of make up do you use? I've been trying to read the back of the labels, but I never know what any of the ingredients are (not a good sign). I recently read somewhere that the average person absorbs 200 chemicals through the skin per day (that stat is approximate, I don't remember the actual number) I see advertisements for "mineral" make up an

Although I agree with everyone (that the Organic Raw Bars are probably not optimal), I eat them all the time! Especially the chocolate coconut bar...It reminds me of a healthier version of a candybar. Of course, I'm transitioning so I may wean myself off them later. I also find they are a good way for me to try and boost my caloric intake (as I just can't lose any more weight...people are harassi

Thanks for the info. That helped. It seems like this is the against logic: If there were extra oxygen, the cells would interact with it (as they do in breathing) and produce free radicals. These free radicals are bad for the body and that's why are cells are always in a "reducing state." Thus, why antioxidants are good for the body. Makes sense. The pro side seems to say thi

Hey Arugula, Could you please elaborate on what an oxidizing agent would do to the body? I tried looking it up on Wiki but all I could find was "liquids or solids that readily give off oxygen." The pro-H202 site seemed to be saying that was a good thing... Would love your input.

My boyfriend is also using it on our plants, as it is supposed to help them grow heathier (by providing more oxygen?). We lightly sprayed our wheatgrass and it helped get rid of that cotton-like mold that grows near the roots of the grass. That's as far as I've been willing to go so far.

When he first told me about it, I thought he had lost his mind! Here is a link to some info about it: I just want to make sure there is some kind of scientific evidence behind drinking it (very diluted...something like 1 drop for a tall glass of water). I hope someone on this forum knows something!

I was wondering...Is there anyone on here who drinks diluted plant grade hydrogen peroxide? My boyfriend (whos also raw) recently started doing it and thinks its a wonderful idea. I haven't been able to find much about it on the web yet. Any thoughts/opinions? Is it "raw"?

Hey Earthwrite, I don't have too many wrinkles (just a few fine lines around my eyes when I smile and one in the middle of my forehead) but I found that going to the sauna 2-3 times per week helps my skin immensely. It's also a great way to rid the body of toxins!

Hey Maui Butterfly, I was wondering about the Rejuvelax. I threw up twice this week after drinking my morning green smoothie and then felt nauseous for hours (and it had Rejuvelax in it). I think I'll try my smoothie without it today and see if I feel better. In the meantime, I'll do a search on Rej. and see what others have to say about it. Thanks!

Hello everyone, Thanks for your responses! After reading them, I think I may not be getting enough calories. I'm going to start keeping a daily journal of the foods I eat so I can start monitoring how many calories I get. I feel like I'm eating constantly (and my empty wallet further supports this), but most of the things I eat are low in caloric content. I was trying to supplement my diet wi

Stoner, Haha. It must be nice not to be full of s***! What is the difference between a colonic and an enema? My boyfriend has an enema bag and he's been trying to convince me to let him give me one. I would feel a bit embarrassed going to a complete stranger for the first time...

Hi everyone! I have a few questions...I've been raw for about 2 months now. Well, not totally raw (about 70-80%). So here are my questions for you seasoned veterans: Should I expect to lose much more weight? In the last week alone, I lost 3.5 lbs. I now weigh in at 104 at a height of 5'3." People close to me are starting to worry that something is wrong. I was small to begin with (115

Hey SandraDee, I've been having the same problem! My lips are very chapped and my skin (especially my hands) is constantly dry despite the fact I drink lots of water. I tried the Coconut oil for a month, but it didn't really seem to work well for me. Like you say, it takes so long to absorb into the skin (I even tried warming it a little to see if that would help). Even after hours, I never re

I have a book at home called "The Coconut Miracle." It was a gift and I've only skimmed through it. I do know that it says you will lose weight when eating lots of coconut juice/oil (despite the fact its loaded in saturated fat). It provided some "scientific" reason, but I can't remember what it was. When I get home, I can try to find the book and see what it says specifically

Hi, I'm new to the forum but I also suffer from an eating disorder. I started the raw food lifestyle approximately 2 months ago (about 80% raw is all I can do right now. My body is detoxing like crazy). I have found this lifestyle to be the only thing that has helped with my bulimia. I have been bulimic for 5 years but have never sought therapy specifically for the problem. With the help of the r
