One change I notice now: I can't highlight a paragraph and copy it. Sometimes -- quite frequently, in fact -- people post really great information, and I'll copy and paste to a notepad with an appropriate caption for future reference. Now I'm going to have to transcribe it by hand, which is fine if it's not too long, but kind of difficult if it's a wordy passage. Glad the Board is back, though!

Morgenjune-- That raw food picture is gorgeous and looks delicious! One of the greatest benefits, for me, of raw food is that I'm much more open to others, and less likely to take offense, pick a fight, or polarize. When I went off the diet in the early '90s for a short while (long story-- never mind!) to try Paleo diet, oh boy!!, I got cranky real fast, and began to notice an increasing impa

Thanks guys! This sounds like the way to go, since he is not too sold on going raw. He would consider going raw for a month or two in order to heal, and then start eating more cooked food, but his other problem is lack of refrigerator space where he lives, so I can't see him buying lots of produce and doing 100% raw. He will probably be disappointed in one sense-- he had hoped for a personal coac

A friend who knows I've been raw a long time recommended me to someone who is a diabetic, and he called the other day asking me to advise him. He's an energy healer who has a pretty healthy lifestyle; he's 68 and is thinking of going raw or vegan. He saw Gabriel Cousens' documentary about diabetes, but wasn't initially interested in going raw, just vegan. I told him I couldn't really advise him a

I've been raw for 25 years+, and right now I'm taking a mega-dose of vitamin D and a small dose of B12 every day. It's cold and dark in New England and I can't fly to Costa Rica just now to catch some rays, so I'll definitely be taking D till sometime late next spring. Gabriel Cousens has sone pretty exhaustive research on vitamin deficiencies in raw vegans; I recommend his articles on the subjec

Hi Vinny! (And bless you for asking about M.) He hasn't contacted me this week. I'll give him a 'poke' on Facebook and see if he'll reveal what's going on. I have gotten a couple of general e-mails from him lately about political- or peace-related activities where he takes videos, so I know he's been out and about.

So now I finally know what's up with all the hassles I've had trying to do fruit and juice: I'm almost as insulin resistant as I was when I was younger. As soon as I started a high-vegie juice fast, I noticed the difference right away: no hunger and high energy. I know this probably sounds odd, but by the second day I had already lost about 6 pounds of water weight, and I'm already continuing to

Awesome video pics! I saw very recent pictures somewhere else -- from a raw meet-up in Coral Gables, I think-- where Doug Graham looked incredibly emaciated and skinny, as if he'd lost all his muscles. He looked really tiny and even his face looked almost skeletal-- kind of scary! All I could figure out was that maybe he participated in one of those 21 day fasts he's famous for guiding people thr

Pineapples have been my base ingredient for smoothies last week. I started adding some greens (collards) because I was getting bloated. I've also been having cataloupe juice every day, and a couple days ago I made a raw apple pie with a crust of ground walnuts and raisins-- it was great! True to my 'intuitive ecclectic' approach, however, this week I'm already moving into a veg/greens/fruit ju

> Sometimes it'll be heavy on peas, with zucchini, celery and sun-dried tomatoes. Other times it'll have mostly eggplant (that has been soaked to reduce bitterness), along with parsley, tahini, corn kernels, and shredded carrot. The spices may be more Italian, or Mexican or some other ethnic combination< Wow, that sounds really good!

Jonathan, my mate, isn't interested in having a big ole' traditional fattening and indigestable Thanksgiving dinner, so he and I will probably do what we always do: he'll have his usual small cooked meal of ch****n and vegies and a salad, and I'll probably have some kind of vegetable thingie and salad. If I'm feeling especially hungry and deprived I might have steamed vegies on top of my salad in

I'd love to eat some of the complex dishes too, but my body won't let me. Even when I eat simple raw, I'm still some 30 lb. overweight. I always thought that going raw would change my metabolism, but I can honestly say after some 25 years of raw, my body type hasn't changed much. and I still have a bit of a 'Pillsbury dough girl' look. ;-p So for me, recipes with a lot of nuts and/or fats are jus

This really sucks. Why are there so many clueless people in governments all throughout the western world? Here in America the government regularly takes aim at alternartives, and the mainstream media is extremely prejudiced against it. I guess people, on the whole, are really either a) =brainwashed or b) duty-bound to the status quo.

Hi Trive! It's really great to follow your progress. Your 'favorite vegan' is adorable, btw. :-) I have a suggestion for all those cookbooks: don't throw them away, but take some of your favorite recipes and see if eventually you can come up with raw adaptations of them. I have a cooked vegetarian recipe book I bought at Goodwill the other day, for the sole purpose of seeing if at some point I mi

Interestingly, even though the weather is getting colder, I'm really, really drawn to just fruit right now. I'm eating fruit and drinking juices and smoothies. Lots of pineapple and orange, bananas, etc., some dried fruit (not too much, just one thing a day) and sometimes avocado and tomato at dinnertime. I found the secret to be eating PLENTY of fruit, not holding back. If I'm slightly hungry, I

>Kwan....One good thing about Halloween is you never have to buy a costume. You just wear your everyday clothes. LOL. I meant that as a compliment. I Love the way you dress.....WY< HA! I actually said the exact same thing to a clerk at one of the local thrift stores I frequent recently! It was right before Halloween, and there were black witch's hats, orange wigs, lots of really old,
