EZ Rider-- following up on what you said, I should express my extreme gratitude in discovering the raw vegan lifestyle. When I explain it to people, they always say, "I could never do that, I love my ___ too much." But what I can't convey to them is how *free* I feel now. Even with my slip ups (not eating cooked, but just too much fat), the fact that my body is much more forgiving th

I used to be devoted to fuji apples... then I had a honeycrisp yesterday. It seriously changed my life.

iLIVE, you're right. I'm not addicted to cashews in that sense. I guess what I should have said is that I have an unhealthy love for cashews and eat far more than I should. Eating too much of anything will make someone sick, but that much fat after eating virtually none for weeks is bound to make the body say, "WTF mate?" Anyway, I've found that since going raw, I feel so much less

So, I had an interesting experience. Maybe it's not so novel to some, but wanted to share. Here goes. I am incredibly addicted to cashews. Used to be almonds, but now I can eat an obscene amount of cashews in one sitting. I stopped buying them for a while, and was fortunately able to greatly decrease my daily fat intake. I hadn't had a cashew in weeks, but (stupidly) bought a bag today.

Hey, I don't live in the city or have any allergies (anymore) so would it be beneficial/worthwhile for me (or for anyone else) to still invest in an air filter for the room?

You could try drinking some echinecea (sp?) tea. A couple of cups of that helps me a LOT when detoxing or just feeling crappy. Good luck w/ your performances!

I like it when co-workers are asking me about what I have for lunch because a lot of times I consider it an opportunity to teach (without being preachy) and hopefully reach out to someone. Today I had an apple, an avocado, and some strawberries for lunch. (It was fabulous!) I think it's strange that people don't look down at their fried chicken/pizza/donut and think, "Wow, this is really u

Haha, it's not a "men's" thread, I was only asking for observations in men's health. Thanks to all the guys who shared personal experiences, but thank you, too, ladies for your input as well!

I thought coconut oil was good for us, especially if having problems with yeast (candida). Personally, I'd like to never feel like I should eat coconut oil again cause all oils taste gross to me now... but seriously, is it a balancing act between flora/fauna regulation and cardiovascular health?

Should a person drink/eat these alkalizing foods before the detox, or does one inherently mean the other? Sorry if that sounds obscure, what I mean is: should I be incorporating highly alkaline foods like lemons into my diet--already mostly raw--before doing any drastic detoxing? Or will doing this lead to the detox symptoms anyway?

Hey all, So, I've read in a lot of posts of the amazing improvements that women seem to experience from going raw with respect to their female health (i.e., their cycles, menopause, etc.) but what are some of the benefits that men can expect? Thanks in advance for your insight!

How do you know if you have a green smoothie 'high' from eating too much kale? I <3 kale... and I'm pretty sure it feels the same about me.

Honestly, when I feel like I should eat more veggies but can't bring myself to force down another salad, I make a green smoothie. My favorite green smoothie consists of three large curly kale leaves, a couple handfuls of spinach, a little water (or rice milk--I know, not raw!), and a banana. It's sweet (though you can add a little agave if you like it sweeter), it has worked wonders for helping

Is it possible to dehydrate food in the oven? I ask because I RARELY eat dehydrated stuff anyway so it doesn't make sense to buy a real dehydrator machine, but on the rare occasion I'd like to try something new, would using the oven be a viable alternative? Or should I not bother.... Thanks for your help!

I love spinach cause I have a crappy blender and baby spinach blends the best (so, naturally, I use a lot more of it.) But kale (curly kale-I have not tried other kinds) is my absolute favorite just because it makes me feel so much healthier and alive after a few days!
