SkyeBlue, I agree with Bryan. Also, taking a b-12 supplement is supposed to work. And raisins have tons of iron. You don't need to eat animal products to get that stuff.

Doug, I agree with Jodi and would like to add that I'm in a community where a lot of people follow ayurveda and I'm quite familiar with it. From my own experience and reports from others, it has mixed results. I've seen people on extended Panchakarma get cured of serious diseases, and I've seen many many people follow AV and become less vital and not get well. I've also seen a lot of misdiagno

Dr. Schulze's program, and the one the Washington lady followed, was not JUST fasting on juices and broth. It also involved taking lots of herbs, hot and cold showers several times a day, extreme hot and cold baths, herbal suppositories that included garlic, and lots of exercise. It was a full time job and she had lots of help. It was not fun, it was very hard. But it worked. When we spoke sh

I don't have a personal success story with cancer, but I found a woman in Washington state who cured herself of ovarian cancer that spread to the hip and breast. She had a full medical diagnosis with the appropriate scans etc., with full medical monitoring throughout her natural cure. I came across her on eBay where she was (is) selling Dr. Schulze products. She cured herself completely prim

How do you feel when you eat raw foods? Why trust what you read in a book more than your own experience?

It's a financial thing - they want the $$ from the purchase of food from their concession stands. It's that way in most movie theatres here. They make more $$ from the popcorn than from the movies. In my small-town theater they used to have someone walk up and down the aisles during the movie checking to see if patrons were eating contraband food; and would kick you out if you did! Talk about

I agree with Pakd4fun and David and anaken. I have meat-eating friends and family, and what can you do? Most of them realize meat isn't good for them but they still eat it. This is a decision that each person must make for themselves, you can't push it on someone else. But still, it's incomprehensible to me how they can do it, it's so abhorrent in every way. What is truly amazing is that

Even if a person is without compassion, how can they think eating the results of such misery can produce health? Even from a purely selfish point of view, vegetarianism makes sense. It's no wonder that eating meat creates such disease.

What works for me is a large glass of orange juice (16 oz) for breakfast and a large fruit salad for lunch. Then fruit snacks if hungry. This totally eliminates the pangs and late afternoon hungries, and gives me plenty of energy.

For what it's worth, I've had a lifelong problem with low energy that gets better with raw but doesn't go away completely. Unless I eat lots of fruit. When I eat lots of fruit, I feel wonderful - light, happy and full of energy. I generally have a big glass of fresh orange juice first thing and a lunch of a lavish fruit salad - one or two bananas, one or two mangos, some berries, maybe a pear

Mislu, Roxanne's was in Larkspur, CA, in Marin. I spoke to several people (SAD eaters) who ate there and said it was the best meal of their life, if pricey. There was a wait for reservations, so I don't think it closed for lack of business. I heard it closed because of a less than amicable divorce between Roxanne and her husband, who funded the restaurant. It didn't close because it didn't mak

When I travel, I pack a case of Mtn Valley water in glass bottles in the trunk of the car. Then when I fly in from someplace, I don't have to scramble to get bottled water, it's waiting for me. Been doing that for years with no problem and just this time had two of them break on me, even though they were well-padded. What a mess. They were the tall bottles and I think the glass is thinner o

Ayurveda likes sesame oil best because it is best for removing vata dosha. Vata is the tendency for movement, and it is vata dosha that moves the toxins into the rest of the body. So usually it is responsible for a lot ailments. I'm condensing a lot of ayurveda into a few sentences and probably missing a lot. But anyhow, sesame is king in AV for that reason. Coconut oil is good for some condi

Phil, I just checked the bottle of oil I bought and it is unrefined sesame oil. You're supposed to use refined. And I know from my days with Ayurveda that they cure the oil before using it. I'm traveling now but when I get home I'll cure some oil and start using that. Maybe that's why the oil didn't turn white. In any case, it may be a while before I check in again but I'll definitely

I love to start the day with a big glass of OJ and lunch of a large fruit salad, sometimes with avocado in it, and almost always with 4-5 dates. When I do that I feel great, have tons of energy and zero cravings.
