Yes, I agree. I don't do "menu's" either. Eating a large variety/quantity of the various ingredients as I need them or have them on hand is easier for me. Thanks again. =)

I agree with all the above replies. First, people are programmed to believe that whatever the Doctors say is "Gospel" and will not venture out to seek other information or try anything different than what the DOCTORS tell them. Secondly, it take effort. It is easier to listen to the doctor, take pills, and feel miserable, than to put forth a little effort to make active changes in th

I haven't been using any of those ingredients since going 100% raw, but I do occasionally crave salt. I like the idea of making raw garlic salt with sea salt. Using that on my salads might help satisfy that craving, if I can figure out how to deal with the garlic breath around my patients. Hmmmm.... Thanks for the in-put.

That's strange because carob is often used to HELP with various digestive issues. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on your experience.

Do any of you incorporate any of those ingredients into your diet? I LOVE garlic and I really miss putting garlic salt on my avocado or salads. I know it's not "raw," but I wonder how the rest of you handle this issue/craving? Sometimes I'm really craving SALT and seasoning. What do you suggest? MY JUICER DIDN'T COME TODAY YET !!! Sob - Sniffle =*(

I have always worked full-time, but was fortunately on a 2-week break the last 2 weeks to take a break before starting my new job tomorrow. I confess that I am PETRIFIED because I'm not sure how I will handle my new eating routine while I'm at work. I've already prepared huge amounts of raw snack stuff and food for lunches (juicer should arrive tomorrow, thank goodness). Any personal experienc

I'm sure others will have suggestions, but fresh corn on the cob is awesome eaten RAW! I've also been seeing alot of recipes floating around the net that utilize fresh cob-corn when in-season. The beans are best sprouted to be eaten fresh/raw. I'm not the expert on sprouting, but I'm sure others will jump in with suggestions for easy sprouting methods. Hang in there and keep us posted.

Thank you all for the wonderful tips and encouragement. I'm learning so much on this forum as I go along. For example, I've been eating huge fresh salads with tons of baby spinach. Little did I know until I read the recent thread "Spinach or Kale?" *sigh* SO MUCH TO LEARN. Even for a lifetime vegan, I feel like I'm back at square-one, starting from scratch. I'm SO GLAD you folks

Ok, why do I feel like a failure today? I was in a rush to get to church, so I ate a pint of blueberries and felt great til lunchtime. Of course it was potluck at church today, but I went prepared with my hurriedly-grabbed avocado, plum, & tomato. All 3 filled me up and I was sufficiently full til later in the evening. Met with our friends at our usual Saturday night haunt and resisted th

I'm a raw newbie and have been searching for local support groups or within driving distance. I live in Central PA and the nearest active groups I could find are in Philly or Pittsburgh, hours away from me in both directions. Today was my first potluck at church since going raw and I was running short on time, so I grabbed a bag and dumped in 1-Avocado, 1-Plum, 1-Tomato and raced out the do

* My new Samson Juicer should be arriving soon (good deal on Ebay - YAY!). What are your reviews and thoughts and suggestions with this juicer? I have used my Champion juicer for years, but read that the Samson does not destroy(?) the foods as much and has a slower speed, which is supposed to be better for the foods? Thanks for any in-put or experience on this product. * Where on earth do y

Hi Sixxmum Your thread is encouraging to me as a raw newbie myself. I'm still learning how to porportion and manage my mealtimes and amounts and ingredients so I don't get hungry, but I still haven't gotten it down to where I don't need snacks in-between. Right now I'm snacking on a few raw walnuts or almonds or dried dates or figs when I get the "hungries." Anxious to keep le

Hello I am 35 y/o female, a lifetime vegetarian (never tasted meat of any kind), vegan most of the time, but not always. Alot of recent changes in my life - new job, recent marriage (YAY!!), and other changes. Thankfully my new job will take me away from 7 long years of commuting long distance (1.5 hrs) to my last job, which spiraled me down into caffeine addiction (just to survive), obesity
