LOL! You guys/gals are the best! Yes, I can't be a fanatic, or I get too caught up and fail every time. I'm just focusing on doing raw most of the time. Except for possibly the Mrs. Dash seasoning on my salad I've been 100% raw today. So, except for those few days, I've been mostly raw for 18 days now Thanks everyone! Bill

Gmq, I have one thing to add. After 2 weeks raw, my tolerance to alcohol (and other drugs like caffeine, supplements and medications) went waaaaay down. I literally got "wasted" on 2 small glasses of wine. That has never happened to me before. So, in general I think people had more or less agreed that alcohol isn't good for you, but that enjoying wine for example was obviousl

Hi Everyone, Just got back from a 5 day trip into the deep woods of the Adirondacks in NY. What a magical and beautiful place... tent camping next to the lake, canoeing, hiking, swimming and washing in the lake... ahhhh. Anyway, I was with my ex-in-laws and two of my four children (as well as Meema, aka Great Grandma). I took a big box of veggies and fruits along with nuts and seeds for m

I've been using Kale for the last 4 days as well. I blend kale, a banana, ground flax, agave and water. I've found that it can get bitter if I use too much kale though.

Hi Everyone, I watched this 2 DVD set over the last couple of days. It's pretty good. Has anyone seen it? There are a couple of Dr's that speak and some other experts. However, some of the references that people make in it as "facts" aren't really facts... more anecdotal accounts, but I'll get over it. There's one lady who made a comment that really hit home for me. I'm pa

Thank you plainlydressed! Today was payday, so I think I'm getting some kind of filter for my water, either a pitcher or on faucet one.

Lara_Hastings, I had some more issues with diarrhea yesterday. I also had a run of extreme hunger in the afternoon (around my old twinkie or chips time) that was hard to put down. Half and avocado finally did the trick I think. Anyway, I'm holding on tight to the concept that these are either detox symptoms or our bodies adjusting to the new diet. I've been on medication before in the pa

Hi, A newbie answer again. I know that a lot of people are very proud of their 100% rawness in this forum. But, thinking about it logically, I don't know how eating (or drinking) a little bit of unraw something once in a while could harm you long term. I'd like to think our bodies are not so fragile that you're going to "crash" if you had 1 glass of wine or beer. Excessive drinki

41 mostly raw for 7 or 8 days Although the last week has been great, I don't see myself ever being 100% raw... who knows though. Maybe in 25 years I'll be veteran posting here

I'm new too. So far today I've had: Banana, sprouts, ground flax and agave shake An orange, a pear, some raw pumpkin seeds, some sun dried raisins, about 2 cups of cantaloupe. baby carrots and summer squash in a ground sesame dip, some sweet corn cut off the cob with a little salt. I think I had two dates in the morning too. It's 4:42pm and I have to work late. But I still have

Thanks to the respondents so far... Something else I've noticed is that I don't feel tied to the typical meal times. When I get hungry, I eat. And, when I'm hungry, I'm just hungry. It's not the FAMISHED feeling that I'm so used to. I'm not watching the clock to see when I can eat again. I also don't wake up starving like I normally did. Lastly, I don't have cravings for the "bad&qu

Hi, I'm in a similar situation. I've shopped around and found that the local natural food store has less expensive items when it comes to raw nuts, seed and seaweed (nori). The local farm market has deals (or you can make deals) on in season fruits and veggies. Lastly, I found an Asian market near where I work that has some REALLY good prices on leafy veggies, sprouts, soy beans and s

Hi Everyone, I'm at about day 6 or 7 of being 75-80% raw... maybe more. The 1st day was kind of a test and was really just an increase in fruits/veggies. Here are some questions that I'm hoping someone will answer: 1) How do you measure your "rawness" (100% is easy). Do you measure it on volume/weight? 4lbs of raw and 1lbs of cooked would make you 80%? I've been eating raw al
