It seem that in other seedless fruits, there are always seeds that make it back into the fruit. I wonder why this might not be the case with bananas.

Maybe if everyone you know stops eating GMO, and they get everyone they know to quit eating GMO, and they tell everyone they know to stop eating GMO, and so on, that the market for GMO will dry up.

It sounds like Natasha has an absorption problem, since taking the oral supplements are ineffective. One of the way to heal the absorption issues is to water fast. But this may not work for Natasha given her schedule and commitments. Also, I would look at all the supplements and condiments in the diet that may be antibacterial or antibiotic in nature, as they may be killing off the bacteria in th

Here are some useful and entertaining YouTubes from John "Tell It Like It Is" Kohler, the owner of this fine forum. John is very funny, and watch how many time he says "fat", "oily", or "dehydrating" in his restaurant reviews . His tips are very useful, and I practice some of these things when I eat a raw restaurants and raw potlucks. Surviving a Ra

Hi Joseph, This being tired is actually a good thing. What this is saying is that your previous diet had enough stimulants in it so that you were able to get by on less sleep. The unfortunate side effect of all that stimulation is that you build up a sleep deficit. But now that you are eating cleaner raw foods, you are feeling the effect of all of sleep you missed out on in the past. But ra

When I first started raw, my stomach was so small from eating cooked foods that I needed to eat 5 to 6 meals a day to get all the energy and calories I needed. But over time, as my stomach was able to hold more raw foods, I could live with just two meals a day. Here's is my typical meals for the winter: 2pm: 10 navel oranges, 1/2 pound of deglet noor dates 7pm: a dozen tangerines, followed by

I suspect this may be more an issue of cloning versus hybridization. Hybrids tend to be more robust as that is what occurs naturally. It is cloning that is unnatural.

powerlifer, so what you are saying is that having good health is more than having a good diet. I totally agree with this. The two biggest consumers of our energy are digestion and negative emotions(fear and other mental suffering/pain). A better diet can give us more energy because it takes less energy to digest that food (in addition to the various nutrients we receive). But another source of en

powerlifer, your mentioning of roots reminds me of one of the drawbacks of water fasting. Most diseases are cause by habits or diet we have that are not in accordance with out body's needs. When we water fast, we give our body a chance to reset itself, because during this time, hopefully we are not practicing those habits that are harmful to us, and with the extra rest and sleep and energy saved

I don't recommend dry fasts for beginning fasters. I had been water fasting for 8 years when I tried the dry fasting. Also, for the 5 years before attempting dry fasting, I was water fasting 3 times a year for 3 days at a shot. As I did all these water fasts, I just drank enough water to quench my thirst every time I was thirsty. Over the years, I went from drinking 4 cups a water a day down to 1

The thing about fasting for 40 days or more, most people consume water. I've done a 2.5 day dry fast, meaning no food and no water, and it is not exactly easy. And I have done longer water fasts before (a 10 day, 12 day, and a dozen or so 3-4 day water fasts). A 10 day dry fast is a substantial fast that I don't think most people can do, mostly because people have so much salt (sodium chloride) i

One of the consideration in your choice of overt fats is the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid. A healthy range is a ratio of 4 or less. Here are the omega-6 to omega-3 ratios of various raw overt fat sources: flax seed: 0.26 chia seed: 0.33 hempseed: 3 walnut: 4 macadamia: 6 olive: 13 avocado: 15 cashew: 125 sunflower seed: 311 brazil nut: 1144 almond: 2011

It looks like you've already done quite a bit of preparation, given you've just finished a cleanse. The transition strategy I followed was just to include more fruits and salads into my diet, reducing the cooked foods over time, until I was only eating raw foods. Fresh foods are the best, so dehydrating is not a high priority. Sprouting is an inexpensive way to include more fresh greens i

That could work, assuming you don't feel too deprived eating only green smoothies. I started with a cleanse when I first went raw, but now, after being raw for so long, I don't think that cleanses are necessary to start a raw diet. The raw diet, if continued for long enough, will be plenty cleansing and healthful, assuming you don't overload on the fat. One thing I found about people who stick

@Horsea, I don't have a coffee grinder at this point. I use my Tribest Personal blender to grind my hemp seeds. But you can get a coffee grinder brand new for $10-$20, whereas a personal blender like the one I have (or the Magic Bullet) is more like $50. In the past I had a Krups coffee grinder, which worked great. But I gave it away when I got the Tribest. See if you can find one at a garage

What I like about what Raw Bohemian is saying is that it is very easy to see and test the truth of his statement, as he gives you a way to find out for yourself. On the other hand with powerlifer's assertion (pH imbalance in the intestines), you really have no way of discovering if there is truth to his statement. My sugar related issues (feeling weird after eating a lot of sweets, fungus iss

clank72, For healing and weight loss to occur on the raw diet, it has to be more of a permanent lifestyle change rather than a short term "diet" to take off unwanted weight. So I guess what I am saying is that it is still too early to say that raw foods isn't working yet, as you are still in your transitional state. The other advice on this thread has been great. The common theme
