Try eating a whole head of romaine lettuce everyday. This should get you to be regular. When I first started raw, I was having 3 or so bowel movements a day. Nowadays, 9 years later, I do it once a day.

I would say a high protein diet, like one that includes lots of animal products, is the major cause of kidney stones. Spinach is high in oxalic acid, and if you are worried, eat lettuces instead.

Methylcobalamin is a better choice that cyanocobalamin, because I believe the cyanocobalamin breaks down to some form of cyanide in the body.

I agree about the Klamath lake algae being toxic. Probably any supplement that delivers an energy boost is toxic, as one feels stimulated when the body is hard at work removing some recently consumed toxic material.

You said the raw vegans had an elevated homocysteine levels. The study actually said the raw foodists who participated in the study had higher homocysteine levels. 21% of the participants where raw vegan, the 79% others ate animal products. So elevated homocysteine levels were found among the raw foodists in the study, meaning that veganism was not a cause of this issue.

The people in the study were not all raw vegan. Here is the breakdown of participants: Baseline characteristics and food consumption. The mean ± SD age of raw food dieters was 46 ± 11 y and mean BMI was 20.8 ± 2.5 kg/m2. The median time of practicing a raw food diet was 3.5 y (minimum 2.2 y, maximum 38 y). Participants adhered to different variants of the raw food diet (Table 1). The

All those foods that were declared an incomplete protein based on experiments with rats are in fact complete proteins for humans. So things like corn and wheat, which where once considered incomplete and partially incomplete proteins, are in fact complete for humans. I learned about proteins at Rick Dina's protein lecture at the Raw Health Expo last weekend. There are only a few whole foods th

Coco, Being injected with something, even someone else's blood, is putting foreign objects into the blood that could contain toxins, and thus make a person sick. With the toxin theory, all disease is toxemia. Toxemia means poisoning of the blood. So a person who has AIDS is very sick, and their blood is very poisoned. Bypassing my immune system, and placing their poisoned blood into my clean bl

Coco, There are many scientist who claim that HIV does not cause AIDs. There are tons of theories of why people have lost their immune systems. AIDS is a huge blanket for a bunch of symptoms where the immune system gets depressed or destroyed. Tamukha, We don't need to agree on this. I offer another perspective, one that matches my personal experience. Even in modern medicine, it is gene

In some sense, any knowledge that is understood by man is akin to religion in that there is some amount of belief that is necessary. What we call science is often mostly just fiction, that in time, is disproved and discarded. So we have these theories, and they should predict outcomes based on various inputs and conditions. The germ theory says that in the presence of germs, people get sick.

Seaweeds are filters of the oceans, and as such they pick up heavy metals. I can't see why anyone would want to put heavy metals into their body.

I'm with Steve (paragon) on this issue. Warts are the body moving toxins out via the skin. As are skin ulcers, which if they occur on your genitals, is called genital herpes. The germ theory was discarded by it originator, Antoine Bechamp, who said it was the terrain that caused disease, and germs were only a symptom. Pasteur picked up the discarded germ theory, and became famous for the theo

The germ/virus theory of disease, as far fetched as it may seem to a person who does not experience much sickness, is accepted by most of the population because it matches their personal experience of disease, and certainly medicines/herbs seem to make a difference to these people. But for some very sick people, the medicines and herbs quit working. This is not explained by the germ/virus theory

When the body has a cold or flu, this is just detox. This detox is something to be celebrated and to be grateful for, since this is the body getting rid of the the toxins and dead matter from within. It is a sign of health to be actively detoxing and internally cleansing. So when we take something that halts the cold or detox, what we do is keep the toxin stuff inside of us until we get enough

The thing about substances we take that remove symptoms, these only delay the true healing. The symptoms are in place to heal the body. Anything we do to suppress or palliate a symptom is preventing healing from happening. Just because we have the technology (either through pharmaceuticals or herbs) to make a symptom disappear doesn't mean we've 1) healed, or 2) removed the cause of the disease.

rad gal, I have a different approach to healing than powerlifer, one that worked for me. Before going raw, I had been working long hours in Silicon Valley, and consuming coffee to keep me going. When I finally quit coffee, I had massive chronic fatigue. What ultimately healed me was to quit all stimulants in my lifestyle and diet, including digestive stimulants like condiments such as salt,

This is a detox symptom. I recommend putting nothing on your skin except filtered water. You might want to also look at what toiletries and cleaning products you are using. For myself, for many years now, I have only been bathing with filtered water. I no longer use soap or shampoo (except in extreme circumstances, like if I get dirty motor oil in my hair or something). Also see about using a wat

Asking if people are consuming cooked foods really doesn't serve the purpose of this of this forum, which is to support people in their raw food exploration.

Even is it is raw, it is not going to be such a healthful option. If eating a raw tofu allows someone to move away from meat, then yes, I say go for it. But eating fresh fruits and salads is a healthier and more nutritious option.

I've heard of people making raw tofu out of sprouted soybeans. I have to wonder if the fermentation process or whatever is used to curdle the soybean paste gets rid of the toxins/anti-nutrients in soy.

Salt and fat are hard to kick, even when you are raw. In addition to salt, there are other spices in the hot dog, not to mention the mustard, ketchup, and relish used as condiments, or worse chili beans and melted cheese In any case, all this means is that your taste buds still love the added salt and sugar and spices in the hotdog, plus the fat. I would recommend taking time to feel how i
