Mislu - I was just wondering the same thing about those watercress roots! Let me know how yours comes along. I have been putting some in my morning smoothie, and I really like it.

hey Brian, just an idea - not sure if you can take some time away from where you are - but perhaps if you went to some sort of raw retreat center or even hook up with a restaurant where you were surrounded by supportive raw people, and away from temptations of alcohol? You could offer some sort of work exchange for staying there? Obviously, I don't know your health or emotional triggers, but

I checked your site out Dave, and I have to say one of those points on your list of FAQs hit me like a ton of bricks and led me to a huge realization, so I wanted to say thank you. Basically, your point #28, you say it's ok to eat the convential produce. While I logically understood that, and eat it time and again at restaurants, for example, I was the Organic Police to myself. I would go to

hey David and Context! thank you kindly for your responses! Love both of your wisdom/images - thank you for sharing I never usually want a name to "what I have" because it is transitory and fleeting anyhow IMO - I guess I got hung up because I wasn't used to feeling so awful. And I've been at the 75% raw for several years now, so figured it wasn't detox. I am not a fan of

hi wise ones, It's been 5 wks since I had the flu and I continue to feel the worst I ever felt in my life. I can't do half of what I did - working out, even after 1 minute leaves my legs shaking and me wanting to cry. Prior to the flu I was raw for about 13 days. (usually had at least 75% living foods in my diet before that) After those around me got the bug, I knew it was more than detox.

fyi, i ate a little cooked and it was right for me to do so. I can function now, and after a week of missing work, I need to function. That 94 temp really made me shakey, emotional, comotose and not a safe driver. I need to eliminate the rest of the flu symptoms too and take each day as it comes. funny thing is, for the first time I don't feel like I failed, I feel like a bit of cook was part

good idea about seaveggies. today it dropped to 94.6 and I am very dizzy. I might eat a bit of cooked, this flu and detox might be going too fast. But i won't feel guilty, I just want to see what what temp does.

Blue nails would freak me out Mira! I wonder if it could be something else nutritionally for you? You have probably already addressed that though.

I used his powder supplement (Vega) for some time a few months ago when I was eating "naughty vegetarian". His company was really helpful when I had some questions. I am sure it was not all raw, but I knew of his interest and respect for the raw lifestyle. He also has lectured at raw restaurants, so has an affinity for it.

that makes sense! I was just googling the calorie restriction idea as that was my theory. And I am not going to go out in the snowstorm, lest I risk hypothermia today I like your point about the normal averages being applicable to SAD diets. It's exactly like when they tell my boyfriend (SAD eater) his cholesterol is not "that bad" and it's still in a normal area.

I did see the other post about body temps of raw foodists being lower, so this might be applicable, but didn't know if there was a need for concern. My fever from the flu (and detox) just broke last night, after 5 days, and my temp has been going down from 97.4 to 96.4 now in the late afternoon. I haven't felt cold today - in fact it was the first day I had some energy, but not much appetite

hi Greenpower! thank you kindly for taking the time to take the picture! that's wonderful. Of course, nothing is growing here, and we are having a snowstorm currently. I wonder if I can order the seeds somewhere for this. Then, I would ask you for instructions on how to use it. Thank you for the latin name - I was planning on ordering my spring planting supplies soon, so I will be interest

hi Arugula, that's interesting because I did eliminate wheat and corn last fall, and other typical allergens. I know how to go thru the elimination diet so I will keep that in mind. However, the good news is I woke up today with no asthma

I love you guys! Thank you from the bottom of my wheezy lungs for all your info and opinions, I will be going over all of them again. Davidz - I really like the idea of the fasting as I am barely eating (just fruit) as it is. I might focus on green juices starting tomorrow. Since I am stuck with the meds, they'll be there if I want to take them. The thing that irked me anyhow, is that it

Greg, I had to thank you for the breathtaking pictures - so lovely! made me feel good to see them! I started blending all my pinneapple to avoid that funny mouth feeling, not sure if that really corrects the issue of a non-ripe one, lol, but my mouth prefers it!

hey Claire, I am sorry you feel so cruddy now. And the beating up on ourselves never helps, does it? You know, I have tried at various times for over 3 yrs to go totally raw and am starting to look at those time I "failed" as invaluable lessons. Sounds cheesy but it's true. One thing I did this time, that really helped me was I made two sheets of paper for the fridge/cabinets (I

hi all, Does anyone have any favorite remedies for asthma relief? I mentioned on another post, I am on my 11th day raw, and also have the flu (I do believe it is the flu because my boyfriend caught it too, and I know he didn't catch my detox My body is really working so hard, but out of desperation from wheezing and gasping, I called my regular dr and he called me in 'something'. The 1

hey Rawvanessa, I have been trying to muster energy to post for 3 days. This is my 10th day raw and I have the worst flu/cold I have ever had in my life! I am really wondering if it is also a cold - that is to say, is your system going through so much during 'detox' that it can't fight these nasty viruses or what not. If this is detox, wow...I have not been sick in years, so it's frustratin

I bought a big bag of raw brazil nuts only to get the same reaction you outlined, along with wheezing. However, there were some happy squirrels in my yard after that. Have you tried raw almonds? you mentioned you eat cooked nuts. Maybe after some mono eating try some raw ones by themselves? good luck.
