I did alot at first. Soaked, of course. I don't really want them any more. I don't even drink almond milk often. Just don't want any of it.

If you find you need to eat meat cycically every three weeks or so, consider that you might have some hungry microform that is going to die off if you don't eat whatever it is in the meat they need to survive. Sometimes our cravings or sense of unease could be those microscopic critters dying off and begging for certain chemicals (or ?????) just to survive. We don't realize that such a thin

Be sure to add a green powder drink to your diet and continue to eat plenty of greens for protein and minerals. Also, be sure to get an adequate amount of fats. Your body will tell you when you have what you need. I need more fat at some times than others. I go by what I crave. Currently I don't want nuts and seeds and only have an avocado every other day or so. That may change tomorrow.

Chewing and juicing also break down the cell walls. I am doing fine with a cheap blender from Target that makes nice smoothies.

Also, you should really try to take a green powder added to your water with a little lemon if you need to. It will up your alkalizing minerals, add protein to your diet, and all kinds of other good things. There are lots of choices. There are also some Ph drops you can add to water to raise your ph level. Coral Calcium is also good. You can also add baking soda to water and it will raise your

The above advice is excellent. There is one more thing to consider that most people new to raw food do not know. It is critical that your body's ph level be properly balanced. The blood ph should be slightly alkaline at a reding of 7.365. A reading consistently below 6.5 or above 8.5 can signal trouble over time. You can test your urnine with litmus paper (purchased online or at a health

It seems to me like sweet is certainly a preferred taste, but the desire can be changed. For example, since removing most of what we refer to as the sweet fruits from my diet, I now find that I don't want them. Perhaps that is just me and we are all different. I had a banana mango smoothie this morning with 2 large handfuls of spinich and one lemon. It was WAAAAAY to sweet for me. I prefer

It sounds like you may be terribly low in hydrochloric acid (HCL). That is the acid that devours the food you eat. Get some HCL tables or capsules and start by taking one with each meal. If you don't have a negative reaction, add 2 per meal. Increase up to 4 tablets per meal. It could take a month or two for your body to adjust. In the meantime, try blending or juicing. It might be a bit e

Vegetables are blanched first, placed in boiling water for a pre-determined amount of time per kind of vegetable. It is usually just 2-4 minutes. They are then plunged into ice cold water to stop the "cooking." The purpose of blanching is to STOP ENZYME ACTIVITY so the "quality" does not degenerate for the time period they are frozen. They are less cooked than canned, b

If I don't get sufficient(?) sodium, I get so light headed that I can nearly pass out because my blood pressure gets too low. I don't know how much is too much or how much I get, but I just know I really seem to need plenty. This morning, I juiced almost a whole bunch of celery and an apple, and I also eat tomatoes. If that doesn't work, I add more sea salt to my foods.

Byran, you used terminology here that I don't understand. What is the "hygienist" way of eating/living, etc? Is it significant to know? I know a bit about the hippocrates/wigmore camp, but don't seem to see the difference between the two. Do the hippicrates/wigmore people eat more greens and hygienist more fruit?

I have read in one place that cashews are to be avoided. Dr. Robert Young advocates this in his book The PH Miracle. Anyone ever heard this?

Chickens and Turkeys don't have kidneys so they can't filter their blood. Acids waste products from their lives build up, and we eat it! We become more acidic by eating poultry! I DID go off a mostly raw diet during the holidays last year! It was awful. I started eating lots of fast food, chips, pizza, toast and tter, 6 - 8 cups of hot tea per day, doughnuts and other sweet and fatty pastr

Try reading Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko. It is an excellent book and she has recipies for including lots of greens in smoothies. I had a half head of Romaine this morning juiced with half a cucumer, 3 carrots, whole lemon, 1 apple. Delicious! Then I blended it all with half an avocado. Very filling! The rest of the day will usually finds me eating green salads with lots of celery,

What do you mean by saying the following: "I really don't want to list the people who are facing tough times but can if need being (some who are profound or authors of books), just so I don't sound crazy........" Perhaps if I understand you right and they are not doing well, could it be because they do not monitor their PH? Perhaps they do not get enough greens. Greens are the key

I discovered "milk and cookies" last night. Almond milk sweetened with a little "Stevia with FOS" and raw nut/seed bars. It only took a very little bit to be satisfied. The nut/seed bars were found in the refrigerated section of my local Vitamin Cottage.

It's gone! The craving is gone! I have moved on to other stuff. Wierd! Now I am enjoying almond milk but not craving it. Last night I had "milk and cookies" - almond milk and deydrated nut/seed bars, a very tiny amount of both. It gives me that full feeling traditional food does. So I know what to have if I crave SAD foods.

Can anyone offer a similar tasting dressing to Ranch or Creamy Italian? I just can't seem to move away from the bottled version. The raw ones just aren't working yet for me.

Ooh! They are wonderful, especially the grape tomatoes. Does anyone know why? I read on the internet that it can be a sign of anemia which I have never been. However, . . . my last period was unusually long and heavy. Perhaps I am on the verge of needing more vitamin C to help with my iron levels. Anyone? P.S. I am unable to get off bottled dressing. I simply MUST have the tomatoee

Yes, swelling does have a beneficial effect. Having had numerious ankle sprains, I know the swelling keeps the affected area stable so it can heal. Too much swelling can be a "pain" (sorry, but I couldn't resist!), but you just use ice alot. Part of the swelling is the body sending more blood and fluid to help in the healding process. If you are interested, GNC stores have a ter

Have you ever tested your urine Ph? Your body sounds like it is very acidic rather than alkaline. You can buy ph test strips from some health food stores. The best thing to do if you are too acidic is to reduce or eliminate any acid forming foods you eat and replace them with alkaline forming ones. You can search the internet or get books that flesh this out more. When our bodies are too a
