I was wondering, are the dried dates that are in most health food stores raw? For example, do you think they are dehydrated/dried at a low enough temperature for their enzymes to be intact, or are they dried at a high temperature, making them non-raw? Thanks allot! PS... I've never had a raw date. Anyone have any experience with raw dates?

With regards to strictness, eventually it will be more out of joy than out of restriction that you will eat more and more raw foods. Plus, as I have experienced several times (i guess unfortunately), once you go all raw even for a few weeks, when you have cooked food again, the body reacts in a way that you have never experienced before . You're not gonna die, or even throw up or anything like

Hey Sapphire... I wouldn't say I'm the "sheep" of my family, but I'm definitely different, as far as health is concerned. Im 22 years old, so I guess I cant say I have too much experience in life... but at the same time, i've seen that part of the family relationship development thing is finding a balance between sharing my raw foodism, hatha yoga practice, Krishna consciousness practi

Hey everyone :-) I just discovered this site recently and it is so inspiring. thanks for all of the great posts. I was wondering, is it best to juice, blend, or to just eat fruit as they are without changing them? Does it depend on the fruit? Does anyone have any recommendations for eating/drinking fruit? For breakfast, sometimes I have a juice with a grapefruit, 2 oranges, and an apple, bl

Hey Mislu. Thanks for the response :-) Yeah, when I lived in Krishna temple last year, I saw how the sweets were made, and there was so much refined sugar. I wasn't on a raw food diet then, so I just kind of went along with whatever the recipes were. As far as baking at 4am, which would give you good luck if you ate the food... offering food to God does help purify ourselves, because we are re

Hey everyone. I practice Krishna Consciousness and I recently started eating a raw food diet. This diet seems ideal for spiritual life, but this way of eating doesn't seem common among Krishna devotees (at least ones that I've met). All Krishna temples I've been to prepare cooked foods and offer it to God. Its called "prasadam" (offering). I was wondering if anyone else here practi

Hey Ela... thanks for such a thoughtful response. That helped allot. Im actually EXTREMELY excited to try wheatgrass juice. This is almost like the first time I heard about Goji berries and practically ate a whole bag at once, lol. It was a pretty intense experience. I've learned to soak Goji berries before eating them, it helps me chew them a little easier. I guess I'll take it easy the firs

Hey everyone. I have Celiac, which means that I'm allergic to gluten, food starch, wheat, oats, and some other things. I was wondering, would I be able to have wheatgrass? I love juicing, and I heard how healthy wheatgrass is, but would it be OK for me? Please send me an email at esisser@yahoo.com and let me know
