Yes. The first cycle was heavier than normal, so my body must've been using the opportunity for some extra cleansing. After that, it became so much lighter and easier. No more pain, cramps, or bloating really. One month, it was even a few days later than normal, which never happened before. PMS is now a thing of the past. It's great having no more pain each month!

It would be difficult to hurt yourself in the short term. Consuming one fruit for a short time is not fasting...it's a mono diet. Fasting is when you are consuming nothing but water. Most anyone can benefit from a fast or mono-diet. The body would appreciate the rest and extra energy to devote to some house-cleaning of its stored wastes and surpluses. I would recommend doing plenty of your o

Yes, it is quite frustrating when strangers make ignorant comments. Is there any way to disable the comments feature in your myspace blog? If so, that may be helpful to you. I did that recently with my own blog because the comments were really exasperating, and the blog is mainly for my benefit. I feel much better now blogging in peace. LOL!

There is no set amount of food. It will vary with each person. When I do a mono diet, I eat as much as I want. I.e., with watermelon, I was hungry for it most on the first day. I ate 1 whole large watermelon that day. The following days, I noticed I wasn't *truly* hungry because I desired other things, but not watermelon. That indicated to me that it was merely appetite. If it were true hunger, *

I always feel tired & sluggish now after eating nuts, and they don't digest well. I decided to avoid them because of this. This happens because digesting nuts takes so much more energy than digesting fresh fruits & tender greens. Nutridiary is a great tool for figuring out your caloric needs, and if you're meeting them. I found it very helpful in the beginning. GL!

Hmmm, honestly it sounds like a gimmick to me. I'd skip buying the book, and focus on sleeping whenever I'm tired, as much as possible. Getting *enough* sleep is key - no trick to that!

80/10/10 is Dr. Doug Graham's term for his low-fat, fruit based raw vegan diet, with 80% or more of the calories coming from carbs, and 10% or less coming from fat and protein each. He has a book The 80/10/10 Diet, which was recently released. You can see it/buy it at:

Mmmmm, OJ. I really want some OJ now. It's one of my favorite things! I think I will start mono-ing on that. I became sick of the watermelon, and frustrated with getting a few non-sweet ones, so I have a strong desire for the OJ instead now. Your experience sounds great, David! I'll have to check out your website.

Hi Suvine, Love the cover-up tattoo!! Maybe I should do that with my yucky one, LOL. GL finding some more organic grapes. We haven't had any here in DFW, TX, yet, but I heard in a couple weeks we should. I'm not planning to do different mono diets at a time (I enjoy a mixed diet too much), but maybe when I'm finished with the watermelon, I'll take a break then later I'll try another mon

Hi Cynthia, I'm on day 4 of mono-watermelon and my digestive system feels much better already. Only the first day I felt like eating an entire large watermelon, but the days after, I was only hungry for 1/2. It's super gentle on the digestive system and enables the body to do extra cleansing work because of that. I don't think watermelon is magic, though...I'm sure any juicy fruit would work n

Igloos? Ugh, I got those same comments when I lived in Maine!! LOL! That's a great idea of visiting the PYO farms and shipping your things back. I'd love to read an update if you do it. Best of luck!

smilebig, I understand how hard it is to kick sugar and caffeine! I'm a total chocolate addict, along with hot chocolate, candy, baked things, Green Tea Frappuccino, etc. I've found that after 2-3 days on a clean diet, the cravings pretty much cease, or at least let up enough to make choosing healthy things easy. Once I "cheat", though, it's back to square one with the addictions.

Uma, Thanks for posting about The Detox Mono Diet book. I ordered it from Amazon Monday, and should be receiving it this afternoon. It looks like a good read. I can't wait! I'm currently doing a mono-diet of watermelon and really enjoying it. I loved reading your posts about the mono-banana experience. I may try the mono-diet more later with different fruits. I could see myself doing it with

anna_elle, You and your DH may be interested in the following article written by Dr. Vivian V Vetrano, who studied under Dr. Herbert Shelton. It's long, but worth the read. Great information to have! It was printed in Living Nutrition magazine (Vol 14 or 13). My Mom was diagnosed with colon cancer, but unfortunately wanted to go along with the conventional docs and treatments instead, which ca
