Me neither. I tried two of Breville's centrifugals. The cheapest and the most expensive one, I have to say I prefer the cheapest one. -rw

WY (and kwan), Just a quick update. Day 14 today, one more week to go.... Did water fast for one day, a huge big no-no for me! I'm with you, WY... Carrot and neutral greens are always a safe choice. I'm very thin too, haven't lost much wgt, the green superfoods really helped. Don't feel drop in energy either, have not attempted anything labor intensive though. I still keep up with my we

hey kwan, I m doing fabulous. I had some lousy days. Like Day 10 I almost gave in to a box of vanilla ice-cream. I'm totally over that now. I feel like Day 3, or somewhere along Day 8 to 10 are the toughest days. Once you get over those bumps, you feel like you can go on forever. I can't never get sick of carrots. Fruits I have to keep rotating. I can't juice the same fruit more

I use the Jack Lalanne and you get a thin layer of foam which I can easily scrape off with a spoon. I also always pour an oz of water into the chute right before I turn it off to give it a quick rinse. And, when I scrap the foam off, I'll scrape the water along with the foam and not waste any juice. -rw

kiki, I gave up and ordered the Omega 8005 from BedBathNBeyond with the 20% coupon. I'll just have to order the auger separately from Omega if I'm not happy with the 8005 auger. I had a feeling I'm just going to use it primarily for leafty greens, so hardness of the auger is not that critical. -rw

Tamu, Which Champion do you have? I know that the Champion hasn't changed much for the last 50yrs. But, maybe you're using a newer version with very small, minor changes that make a big difference. How much hard root veggies do you do (2lbs+)? What kind of yield are you getting? Does it seem to bog down at the end? Do you alternate between soft and hard veggies? Maybe you've figured out

>> does that mean that people actually drink small particles of plastic auger with their nice clean pesticide free organic juices? << Yep! More the reason to get the 8006 auger. I think it's best to leave the 'hard' stuff to a centrifugal or the champion. And of course, if you don't mind muscling your way thru a twin gear juicer. -rawie

WY, >the 8006, and see which juicer you like. I'm going to >guess you'll like the Jack LaLanne best. > Now, you're getting me worry. Oh well, I'll need a juicer to juice leafty greens which the Jack LaLanne does poorly. I'll eventually replace the current JL no matter what because I don't like the plastic bowl. (I know that JL now has a stainless steel version.) >By the

jon, I'm not a fan of the "bigger-is-better" camp when it comes to chute size. The power of many big-chute-juicers simply does not match the size of their chute. The bigger chute size is mostly a marketing scheme (or scam?). Very few fruit or vegetables can actually benefit from it w/o overloading the motor and/or wearing out the blade pre-maturely. An adjustable chute would be id

weaver50, Yes, you can use the 8006 auger in your 8003 machine. In fact, that's what WY is doing. You can get one directly from Omega for $60 + shipping. -rawie

WY, >We're usually singing out of the same Hymnal. > When I first saw the Norwalk Juicer video on youtube, I thought there was a joke. I just laughed out loud when you say that juicer is a 'Cruel-n-Unusual' form of punishment. Apparently, many people put the Norwalk juicer on the pedestal, very few have actually tried it. >That sounds like a nice lineup. I'd omit the >Ch

Hi JJ, and WY, Yes, I'm a she. And, I'm extremely grateful for WY's input. I think we share very similar tastes (not just in juicer but blenders as well). I don't take his advices lightly. He is by no means bending me away from the single auger Omega. In fact, I realize no one juicer can do it all. I think I'm going to end up with the Breville Citrus Juicer Press, Omega 8006, Champion (us

WY, I saw a couple of Omega 8003 videos on youtube, it's very slow and a bit of struggle to do carrots and spinach. I see why you have to use the centrifugal. I'm hoping the 8006 is better than that. The Champion on the other hand looks a lot easier, but don't know if it's good enough for 2.5lbs of carrots. I read that it tends to jam up after a while. Do you have any experience with

WY, Now, I'm really confused... I thought that the 8006 has the exact same motor and gear as the 8005, how could it give more juice with dryer pulp? Also as efficient as 8006 can be, it's still not good enough for carrots or any root vegetables for that matter? I assume you only use the 8003 for leafty greens? -rawie

WY, I'm wondering if the augers of the 8005 and the 8006 are interchangeable? If they're, I can just get the 8005, and if I don't like the auger or if it breaks after 10yrs, I can just get the replacement for $30 and still come out ahead. --
