I think you missed a decimal point in one of your calculations. OMG STOP THE PRESS, SOMEONE CALL 20/20!! lol no I don't work for Blendtec, I just think you're over-analyzing things just a little bit. Some of the stuff you're saying is ridiculous. Believe me I have a background in math and I'm one of the most careful shoppers I know but even I didn't take things this far. If you want to tal

I see your point about the Space Saver but I'm not familiar with that model, I'm only going by the ones on their website: The Connoisseur costs TWICE as much as the Total Blender but it has the same watts and current. It's not a scam: I assume the extra cost comes from the added jar, the ability to use it countertop or flush, and a beefed up warranty. There's nothing misleading about it th

I DON'T agree that Blendtec is misleading us intentionally because like I said, the horsepower numbers aren't even shown on their website. And I'm sorry you believe that you need "X" watts to be able to get the nutrients out of the stuff you blend. Believe me a LOT of people have healed from a LOT of things on raw without even using a blender. Believe me I'm right there with you on

That's great and all but it doesn't really matter if it's 1hp or 10hp, what I do know is my Blendtec is a damn fine machine and I've used it roughly every day for the past year and a half. It's a beast and I love it. I know for a fact it's far better than a cheap blender. Furthermore Blendtec's service department is outstanding. If you notice they don't list a horsepower on their website.

I suggest trying my tip above with just blending the greens and water at first. Otherwise with a full blender it can have a hard time pulverizing the small bits of greens sometimes. I don't have any experience with a standard blender, BUT I made my parents a green smoothie with my Blendtec, and they were all ready to take the plunge on a Blendtec, without even trying theirs first.. but they did

You might also try craigslist and ebay for used ones (or vita-mix). FYI though, a high-speed blender is by no means required to succeed on a raw diet. Just increase the amount of raw fruits and vegetables you eat and you should notice improvements. Browse this forum and other raw forums and you'll get a LOT of tips, and don't hesitate to ask questions. Are you making green smoothies? W

i think people eat more because most all processed foods nowadays are so devoid of nutrition, and taste like cardboard on their own that they require the added fat, salt (msg), and sugar added to them to taste good. Those tastes are definitely pleasing to the human palate, and there are evolutionary reasons, which is precisely why they're engineered into foods. And the reason junkfoods are

Complete proteins are nice but as long as you eat a variety of plants you're fine. We actually don't need to consume all of the essential amino acids in a given meal, or even a whole day. It might be a concern if a person was only eating 1 or 2 different foods for many months at a time. If one is concerned about getting all of the essential amino acids, I recommend cron-o-meter which has data

Cacao has a tiny amount of caffeine, but the primary stimulant in it is theobromine, which is similar to caffeine (and it's also one of the byproducts of caffeine metabolism by the liver). Theobromine is the chemical which can be toxic to dogs and cats. I don't believe cacao butter has significant amounts of theobromine since it should be 100% fat.

Listen I'm not saying that humans don't have bacteria in our digestive system. We actually have more bacteria in there than we have cells in our whole body. But you used the dying deer example as logic that humans need to eat grass and rejuvelac? I don't see the logical progression there. I've never eaten those things. Grass does not appeal to me as a food.

What makes you think they are acidifying when overripe Marksquire? Just curious. I thought it was unripe fruit that was acidifying. Also what's your definition of overripe? To me an overripe banana = all brown, anything prior to that still being "ripe".

Blendtec for 225 is a steal. Blendtec vs Vita-mix is a enough close call when they're both $400+. Does it come with warranty?

We don't rely on bacteria nearly to the extent that they do. They have bacteria in their stomachs which ferment the food. Our bacteria is primarily in the colon. Plenty of people don

I would also encourage you to give up the equal and splenda immediately. Please, throw it out. In the meantime until you give up coffee, you could sweeten your coffee with liquid splenda. it's an extract from the stevia plant so at least it's somewhat natural, and not toxic like the others. If you want to go one better you can get powdered green stevia, but you may not care for the tiny part

That's interesting because I thought its melting point was right around 95? Do you have info on its melting point? I don't use freezer out of necessity, more out of instinct and thought it might lead them to pop out of the tins better.

Our needs for protein are overblown, to benefit the meat/dairy and protein supplement industries. Even if you're trying to gain muscle. Too much protein is hard on the body. Hopefully marksquire comes in and contributes, he has a testimonial in the 80/10/10 book where he said he gained 30lbs muscle in first year and 10 more in the 2nd year of 80/10/10.

are you eating them at varying ripeness? They should be well spotted, moist and sweet. They can certainly be binding if they're not completely ripe. To me all-yellow isn't ripe enough, they must have spots.

I've made it before and did a 2:1:2 ratio of fat/sweet/cacao. This was with cacao butter, agave, and cacao powder. I imagine it came out with more of a dark chocolate taste than eecho's. Mine turned out quite rich, only 1-2 bites is a serving. But here's how I did it. The cacao butter comes in a brick, so what I usually do is chip off a chunk with a butter knife, then melt it down with a m

Sorry I don't really see the point loeve. The difference between Greece and the US is 79.5 vs 78.2. Besides, should America's goal for longevity be 19th? Shouldn't we instead be interested in blowing past #1?

Ugh not the ol' "80/10/10 or not" debate here too I'm not even gonna say anything. My favorite lowfat raw dressing right now (it's from the book) is 1 orange blended up with 2T of tahini. (I make my own tahini; never tried premade). So good, and so much volume, it really douses the salad. I use and recommend a salad spinner to dry the greens so a soupy mess doesn't result in the
