I live in Canada. I hear all about these great young coconuts but I have never seen them in a store. All I see are the hard brown ones. Where do we Canadians find them?

I too am living the solitary raw life. Many workmates, friends and family always want my recipes and love to come over to eat my food but are unwilling or unable to make the change themselves. Many say "I wish I could eat like you but I just can't give up my meat". I have the reputation at work as being "the healthiest eater alive". It keeps me from straying too far for fe

Thank you all for the beautiful and inspirational posts. I have been in quite an emotional struggle this past week as my son has been in quite a physical and emotional crisis. We lose perspective when we are in the middle of a tornado. I am looking for the calm in this storm called life. I believe this notion of gratitude just may provide the calm in the eye of the storm I am living. The re-

I take my vita-mix everywhere! People think I'm crazy until I give them a taste of my latest concoction! I have had many other types, no comparison. It is an investment. I have a friend who inherited one from his in-laws after they passed away. The gift that keeps on giving! Cheers

I have been using my Super Angel juicer for a year now and have not yet attempted to make nut butters. Other juicers talk about using a "homogenizing" plate to make nut butters. The super angel does not have one. It is an excellent twin gear juicer but has anyone tried making nut butters with it? Is it worth making them?

Visited your restaurant yesterday and took my parents to celebrate a birthday. They are not raw and my mother has has colon cancer and has many dietary issues. The waitress was very helpful and patient with them, explaining different ingredients etc. Beautiful setting and delicious food. The tiramisu was wonderful! Will be returning whenever I am in the area. Congrats!

One of my favourite is kale (fresh picked from my garden in the morning!), bee pollen, cacao nibs, banana, fresh orange juice and a dash of cayenne pepper if you really want a jump start on the day.

I am a runner, I weight train and do yoga. I am a physical and health education teacher. I have been raw for 3 years and was shocked at the decrease in my size at the beginning of my journey. I am fairly heavily muscled, people often stop me on the street and ask what "sport" I do. I continue to weight train 4 times per week and have not lost any strength but my muscle volume seems

Just tried this recipe I read somewhere here last week. One mango chopped in the blender and a couple of handfuls of spinach. A little water until you get the consistency you would like. Delish!!

It was a constant battle in my home for a while. My veggies falling out every time I opened the door, no place for my husbands beer! My son came home from university and brought his small fridge. It is now the beer fridge in our back porch. Problem solved. (although I still don't seem to have enough room!)

My mother is not attempting to eat a raw only diet. She is trying to find things that her body can take. She has been experimenting over the past two years and has pretty much had diarrhea regularly. You can understand her fear of trying new things. At times she cannot even go out for fear of having an "episode". Nothing with seeds, no nuts, she can handle cooked carrots and mo

My mother has had a large portion of her colon removed due to cancer about 2 years ago. She is healthy now but finds it very difficult to eat raw foods. I thought that since the enzymes were still intact in raw food, it may be easier for her body to digest. All she seems to eat are eggs and cooked potatoes. She was the original health food nut when she raised us and it is difficult for her no

I have been raw vegan for 2 1/2 years now and my mother has gone from saying "what are you saving yourself from" to "can I try some of that". It has been a bit of a journey but I find keeping it quiet and bringing something raw to family dinners helps. They are all very interested now. I love to feed them my favourite recipes when they come over and they are now calling me

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'm just a control freak. I really need to let go and demand that they help out. I really am a "modern woman" in that I work full time (teach physical and health education at the high school level) I play and sing in two bands, I run, do yoga and lift weights. I eat well and have a good relationship with my husband. My children are happy and succes

I bought a huge lunch bag for starters. Carry a small cutting board and small sharp knife inside. Keep containers of nuts and seeds in there. Keep dressing or oils at work. Pile in the greens, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and cut away at lunch time. Always a few people coming around to see what I am concocting each day! Somewhat of a performance!

I have been raw for 2 1/2 years and have two teenage boys and a very active husband. They like their meat and potatoes. Although they are fairly supportive of my raw journey I am finding it difficult to maintain "family" dinners. I find I am cooking for them and then while they eat, I finish preparing my own meal. We seem to have lost the family dinner feel. At times I wonder if I
