I have been living the simple life for a while now. My "showering unit" is a (stainless steel) pressure tank (one can use plastic), the kind use for garden use. Put in correct temperature water, pump and spray. I only use a liter (quart) for a full shower including washing my hair. OK, may need more if one has long hair. I use this unit for the dishes too.

It depends on what kind of sprout it is: Hulled Sunflower Seeds sprouts, Lentils, Chickpeas, and other larger seeds and legumes - when the shoot is just starting. Mung - a fat shoot and should be grown in the dark with many rinsings Small leafy sprouts like Alfalfa, Clover, Radish, Broccoli, etc - 5-7 days. I always wash my hulls off by putting sprouts in a bowl of water, hulls sink and

Radish sprouts have a strong (hot) flavour. I love clover (which is mild) better than alfalfa (which is also mild) because the sprout is larger. I like to grow my own better than buying because they are fresher therefore taste better. I also rinse of my hulls which keep the sprouts fresher in storage.

I also wash my (alfalfa, clover, etc.) sprouts around day 5 in a bowl of water to remove husks which float and sink, grabbing the cleaned sprouts and putting them back into the jar for another day or two of growth and to green up good. These keep better also.

Frozen vegies: Off course tomatoes and peppers are actually fruit. Herbs and greens do not need to be blanced before freezing. I always do my own.

update: My house is coming together. I am again hypersensitive to everything but generally feeling good. Taking care of myself. Still a little weak and immune system on overload internally. It will take some time to heal fully. Everything in its time. Glad to be alive.

Purslane is a wonderful weed and microgreen that is really rich in essential fatty acids. They are out not in Vermont. Great way to get healthy fats in a raw veggie form.

At this point the only thing that I think a basement is good for is as a root cellar. Building a home, I think it should be well insulated on the floor and above ground like on low piers.

Thanks SueZ, It is definitely not GERD, and is mold. Thanks for the info on Thieves Oil, I will look into it. Yes I have a small ozone generator and the house is much better. I am cleaning top to bottom with borax and tea tree oil. I have after gutting the house found a few issues to fix and should be good soon. What an experience!

12. Mold
I have been dealing with a mold issue since my house basement and articles therein got flooded. I reacted physically of course since I am hypersensitive. Now whenever I eat any acidic foods, I burn (my tongue, throat, ...). I have thought about doing baking soda. What do you think? I miss so many fruits. Thanks.

To repel ticks I have found that the most effective essential oil is Rose Geranium. I just put one drop on each shoe, my hat, and a smudge on shirt and shorts. It works good, lasting all day. I have heard others putting it into a carrier oil (like olive oil) and applying to skin. Ticks hate the smell of Rose Geranium the most of all essential oils. Just one little link with lots of science

I sprout my avocado pits in a plastic bag (or glass bowl with top) with a little bit of water in a dark location. It's faster.

I no longer suffer from CFS. Olive leaf extract helped very much. One day at a time. That was in my 20s, now I am in my 50s. Greens are the best foods for me.

My music too, my time. Actually love getting older in years. Too bad so many of these artists are no longer with us.

I also while my hair is wet in the shower run a comb thru it. But for a conditioner I use a little olive oil on my hands applied to the wet hair right when I get out of the shower. Then comb thru. Works well.

Yes, but cold temperature slows the process tremendously. Seeds need to soak and sprout at different rates. Test your theory. I learn alot by experimenting.

I read this forum every day. I know what is good for my body. I know that raw veganism supports me. I am not always strong in my environment but reading about options that people experience helps. Reading negativity does not. If you can't say something nice, I prefer you don't say anything. Thank you to all those who are doing it, trying it, and living life in peace. I know I am better off

I was diagnosed back in the 80s and told I would have this for the rest of my life. I am not suffering anymore, unless I eat what does not support me. So what does support my wellbeing is leafy greens vegetables sprouts some fruits (not sweet) seeds some nuts some beans fresh air and sunshine and exercise. What does not support me is cacao, chocolate, anything too sweet, any ani

That is a thistle. Just be careful not to eat weeds that may be exposed to toxins like in sprayed lawns, on sites that may contain heavy metals, or near major roads.

North and South sun are relative dependent on where you live on the Earth. If you are in the Southern hemisphere, your strong sun is in the north. These plants do fine unless there is no light, but from my experience may not have long life unless nutrients like a little worm tea or the like is added to the water periodically and this can make the water smell a bit. After Mid-winter (about

HEAR, HEAR, I, similar to THeSt0rm, do not like this energy. I can not prove much (scientific studies) but with my 35+ years of field experience, I know what works for my body and it is raw and vegan foods. If someone wants to talk about other foods, I wish it was not on this forum - a raw vegan forum! And again, thank you JR for speaking up. Peace, please.
