be it as it may - we cannot eat a gorrila diet. our system is much more delicate and needs food that can be easily digested. it does not have to be cooked food, but more fat and protein, since we cannot extract it so easily as apes from the large intestine...

I just discovered that there is a big difference between the human's and ape's digestive system. Humans have much longer small intestine. Apes have much longer colon. They can digest much easier green stuff with the use of bacteria flora in the colon. Human need to eat different diet, more rich in nutrients. Even if we were originally apes, things have changed much since then.

Yes, it is a site. It is created by young people, hence the word 'sucks'. They are actually quite knowledgeable in the matter. Not very psychologically mature, but then the creator of 811 does not appear to be either. The original site 30Bananas is apparently the largest food site existing. It attacks mostly young people who follow the philosophy of 811, and there is a lot of foolish cult st

"products of fermentation ammonia acetic acid lactic acid carbonic acid the above prevent the digestion of foods and are wastes produced by the bacteria" This is maybe so but it feels counter-intuitive to me. My body responds excellent to fermented food, and it healed me from antibiotic damage. There is a lot of 'fermentation' taking place in our body, which is f

during my recent exploration of various versions of raw food diet I found website in which are many reports of serious health issues related to prolonged use of the 811 diet. 811 has become for many a religion including the streak of religious fanaticism and anger. [30bananasadaysucks.com]

to cleanse properly with the psyllium husk you need to juice fast and preferably do colon irrigation. if you water fast the irrigation is necessary. with juice fast, one can manage without it as the digestive system is working. best is to mix 2 or 4 teaspoons of the husk with some bentonite clay or zeolite 3 to 5times day with lots of water. irrigation helps to get the old, leather like, mucus

>Unfortunately you've wasted your time there, doing 40 flushes and thinking you were getting rid of thousands of stones. While many approaches to health and healing are contested, so far as the gallbladder flushes are concerned it's been scientifically proven the "stones" which come out have nothing to do with gallbladder stones.< Oh, I need to strongly disagree. The proper 'l

what you said about the comparison to animals makes a very good point. we tend to look at these matters in a naive way. as to the gallbladder I have much experience here. i have done like 40 gallbladder flushes and got rid of many thousands of stones. i wonder if they accumulated there due to the low fat diet.

Powerlifer, this makes sense, but what would you say to the standard argument that a common ape can live fairly well on fruits and leaves without any supplements? how come we humans are dependent on extra rich diet? what puzzles me about the low fat theory is that before entering the raw diet we all were consuming tones of fat, some of it horribly fried, without much issues, and suddenly e

Tamukha, Yes, but I am trying to understand the logic behind this. Am I correct to assume that this is the combination of fruits and fat that does not go well together? If one was eating Veg and fat would the impact be the same? It is my body, but we humans are very similar, and I believe that there is some general best diet for all humans. Every gorilla is eating the same as other gor

I have been recently started the raw diet. It seems that the low fat direction, like in 811, makes the most sense, but it is not so easy to follow it. For instance, just 2 tablespoons of tahini or 25 almonds exhausts the daily intake of fat. How do the members of this forum relate to that theory? It seems that people who follow high fat approach with raw food diet sooner or later get into trou

I see. So is fat so bad really, even if it is a good fat? In the past I could eat lots of olive oil and houmus and now 20 small nuts is the limit? The man who invented 811 does not look that healthy in my opinion. anyway, do you think that it is true that diet high in fruits requires less fat because otherwise the excess of sugar is not properly assimilated?

tropical fruits are in the south of India mostly. the mountains people are more poor and simple, and the transportation is rough so not much is coming from the plains. there are some local fruits but not much. one has to be on a very simple diet. i lived on and off in India for 20 years, the last 10 in the high mountains in my jungle house. i don't do much there, just living simple life. apa

A good point. I personally do not trust those tests too much, though at times they prove useful. Additionally, the criteria what is the correct level (so called norm) of vitamins, minerals and what not is often very relative and questionable. Perhaps on the raw food diet, the human body has different requirements...

I just want to share that after finding in the gym that cool scale giving you fat and water readings, i did some experiments with fasting to see if what i am losing is fat and water (both with juice and water fasting). In both cases, there was no water loss at all. I think that those who lose water in fasting have been on SAD diet with lots of salt that retains their water. If one is reasonabl

Temukha, thank you. i will definitely do all kind of experiments with raw food! the only problem i can foresee is that currently i have been living for a while in India in the high mountains of Himalayas and people there don't have much variety of fruits or veggies at all! for example, often there are only 2 kind of fruits in the market (like papaya and oranges, depending on the season). wit

yes, of course, but my question relates to the fact that if you simply count calories you would have to eat huge amount of fruits to get fat. i am more concerned if sugar in fruits does not translate into fat. some say it doesn't, some say it does. the whole concept of calories is being questioned these days anyway. counting calories does not seem to really work because there are so many facto

Hi Prana, thank you for your response. I am not coming from SAD, far from it. I have been eating pretty healthy. I am sure I could eat fruits easily all day without problems, but I do worry about the sugar and loss of weight. are there any members who actually gained weight through raw diet?
