Just to add a commercial perspective. We make smoothie all day long. We have the MX1500XTX bling bling blender with the blast shield and all. Yes, it will blend. My employee has forgotten spoons and turned it on. Bye bye spoon. The one thing that this waring does well is to pulverize ice into snow cone consistency. Perfectly still icy and dry. The vitamix can't produce the same consistency
