Hey kids, I am driving out to Sacramento to pick my mom up from the airport next month. But I ll also be meeting some friends for lunch the same day, you know two birds, one stone? (sorry, terrible analogy for a vegan board...I take it back) Anyway, the actual question, does anyone know of any yummy places to grab lunch in Sacramento? I am 100% raw, but my friends are not, I am happy with a yum s

Does anyone have the Compact Juice Fountain from Breville? It is pretty similar to the (full size) Juice Fountain. My parents have the full size, but I am moving soon and considering the Compact. What do you think?

Yeah, I get the same itchies...I use tea tree oil over it at night and most of the time clears up overnight. I dont know what it is either, Ive been raw over 2 years and this seems to come and go. I try to figure if maybe I am allergic to some food I eat, but my diet is pretty varied everyday and I havent been able to track it yet. So good luck, maybe try the tea tree oil? I also found that red c

I like to grind up about 1/4 cup (4 Tb) of brown flax add enough almond milk to make it soupy, maybe some raw chocolate and raisins, and yum. I eat this like cream of wheat. Of course its been over two years since Ive had the real thing. But its yum anyway.

Sweet potatoes and yams are two entirely different vegetables. We are probably more familiar with sweet potatoes. I dont think I have even ever seen an actual yam. I took coconutcreams advice and googled it.

I guess you're right Uma, I actually seasoned them salt/pepper olive oil and put them in the dehydrator for a few hours. I dont like to use the dehydrator too much but they come out tasting yum, like hashbrowns. They are really good in a big green salad. Like potato crutons or something. Is that how you spell crutons? I dont know.

Last time I went to the dentist he kept telling me how stained my teeth were. "Sorry if I poke you, I am trying to see if this is decay, your teeth are just so stained" Gee, thanks. I pay him so much to check my teeth, he could be nicer. But it wasnt decay. I just figured it was from all of the veggie juice I drink.

i save the carrot/celery pulp from making juice in the morning and eat it with my salad at night. sometimes i will mix some olive oil, nama shoyu (or braggs or sea salt) and some chili pepper with it. The oil helps it stick together and when i eat it with salad it is really filling like a raw bread or burger. the texture of it kinda reminds me of bread.

Ouch, bad memory. I did the same thing with mustard greens. The first time I juiced them it really burned going down. I couldnt finish the glass, and had to throw it away. Made me sad to toss green juice but it was far to strong for me. And just a few sips made my stomach ache and I felt nauseous. My mustard greens were organic so I dont think the burn was from the pesticides, just the spicy natu

Does anyone know if french green clay is safe to eat. I mean to use as a cleansing clay, like bentonite? Not like a clay snack or anything like that. Thanks

Yea, we used to get the white stuff on the wheatgrass we grew at the juice bar where I used to work. It is mold. WY is right about the ventilation. When the grass gets to warm/moist the mold will grow, much like the mold on any other warm/moist food left at room temp. The taste is much better/stronger when you grow your own. I like the intense flavor, you can feel it at work in your blood right

18. Quinoa
Has anyone ever eaten quinoa without soaking it? Like grinding it up and using like sesame seeds or other seeds. And maybe making some sort of dip or dressing? Maybe its silly but it sorta looks like a sesame seed or other small seed. What do you think?

I like to drink 16-24 ounces. Loves it. It is sooo good mixed with some young coconut water. I love baby greens. Just had a HUGE baby green salad. Mixed with spinach and some lemon juice, I like the bitter taste of the greens though. Yummy.

Does anyone use oranges in green smoothies? Ive been drinking this for a few days (Oranges and spinach/baby greens, and maybe some papaya), but thought I read something about not mixing greens with oranges. Any reasons why these wouldnt combine well? I havent noticed any ill effects.

Does anyone make rice milk from soaked brown rice? Or wild rice for that matter? I think the reason we end up with stinky rice is because we soak it to long. It really is pretty soft, and mostly split, just soaking overnight. Its yummy added to salads or seed pates/cheese.

I buy my wild rice from Its not organic but it still tastes good and earthy. I just soak it overnight and it is ready to eat the next night at dinner. Ive also found it you use warm, not hot, water when you change the soak water, the whole process goes a bit faster. Ive never had the stinky rice problem with this rice.Good luck.

I forgot to come back. I made the juice and did remove the needles first. I wore gardening gloves and cut the needles off. The juice was really neutral tasting...and very thick like aloe vera gel. Kinda strange to drink. I hope your friend didnt put the needles in his sleeve. When clearing away one of the cacuts I got the tiny needles all over me. Kinda hard to pull out of your arms...especia
