Hello, Thanks Swimmer for the raw restaurant links - very kind. We already have a lot of names and addresses of raw food places in the L.A. area, but we were interested in getting honest opinions about them. There are so many places. It would be nice to know about places that people from this forum have recently eaten at (and enjoyed the food etc). Which raw food places in the L.A. area hav

Hello, During our forthcoming holiday, we are planning to spend a few days staying in Santa Monica, Southern California (as previously mentioned in other posts). We particularly wish to really enjoy the raw food restaurants and some delicious raw gourmet food (given that we don't have the opportunity to do so here in the U.K.). What raw food restaurants / cafes / diners (that any of you have

Hello, Thanks so much to you all for the info and help (especially Derek, Swimmer, Pakd4fun and Patty). We are still currently trying to decide whether to drive from Sedona as Derek said via the 10 west at Phoenix or the 40 west at Flagstaff to get to L.A. Otherwise, we are still asking ourselves whether it would be best to take an internal flight (Hhmmm, cannot decide). We are not plann

Hello, Can anyone please help with my query: Seems like we might have to prepare some raw meals for ourselves whilst on holiday in Arizona and Southern California after the Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona. A few queries for those of you living in those states (or know them well): Whilst travelling around, which is the best place to buy organic raw fruits / veg etc? (We won't be in the

Hello, Good to hear that you did not burn. To continue protecting yourself in the future - some people say that eating tomatoes helps to protect against sunburn (but easier digested if prepared e.g. in the blender). Also, some people say plenty of dark greens as well. John

Hello, Seems like we might have to do some self-catering whilst on holiday in Arizona and Southern California after the Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona. A few queries for those of you living in those states (or know them well): Whilst travelling around, which is the best place to buy organic raw fruits / veg etc? (We won't be in the places long enough to get to know the local small shops and

Hello, Just a note to ask for clarification. Some people have said that he road from Sedona to L.A. is 'desolate' another said 'boring'. As some people love the glitz, glamour and activities or big towns and cities and other people prefer the quietness and solitude of beautiful countryside ... well I am trying to understand whether desolate means quiet and peaceful or whether it means the coun

Hello, Many thanks to Derek, Patty and Riverhousebill for your very kind help and info. It is very much appreciated. I'm still trying to work out which route from Sedona to L.A. would be the most scenic (for natural beauty) without making any long detours. Which do you think: Sedona via Las Vegas to L.A.? orSedona via Phoenix to L.A.? Please help. Thanks, John

Hello, Thanks David and Pakd4fun for your replies. Yes, we are planning to go to the Grand Canyon (very good idea), but we are hoping to do that as a day out from Sedona and not enroute to L.A. (We decided that we only really wanted to overnight places where we can indulge in raw gourmet vegan food - as we have virtually no raw vegan places in the U.K. and don't really get much of a chance t

Hi, We're thinking of touring around a bit after the Sedona festival and think it might be nice to drive to Los Angeles / California area to check out some of the raw places. Can anybody help with a query? What is the journey like between Sedona and L.A.? (It is obviously a very long way - over 7 hours drive without stops!). Has anybody done it? If so what was it like for scenery and r

I love raw cacao (just as I used to love 'cooked' chocolate, but I really do not think that it 'loves' me or that it is something that is good for me. I feel very strange after eating it and cannot sleep feeling so wide awake. The next day I feel as if I have a hangover and feel pretty grotty for at least the first half the day. I find it is so very addictive and as soon as I have a little .

Hello everyone, I've just done a quick search for a list of conventional produce that is generally unsprayed / pesticide free. I know that certain fruit / veg are pretty easy to grow and do not generally need pesticides etc. And so although they might not be marketed as organic ... generally the pretty much are. However, I cannot find a list of which fruit and veg this includes. Does anyone

I've loved all the talks so far. I listened to Gabriel Cousen's talk twice, because he is truly, truly awsome. He is such an amazingly spiritual person. I have loved all his books and was lucky enough to attend a talk of his last year in London where he also gave 'shaktipat' (which he talked about in his interview). It was an amazing experience and I could feel the light touch he gave me

Hello F1, I'm thoroughly enjoying the free talks and am listening in here in the U.K. It's great that they are keeping them for a 24 hr period for free (as it would be 1 a.m. here in the U.K.). So I'm totally loving just being able to go to the PC, at a convenient time for me within that 24 hr period, and listen to the podcasts for free. I first heard about them via Shazzie's site too.

Dancer, It's a difficult one really ... I also feel that neither of them will be what you are looking for. MD's (here in the U.K. at least) generally prefer to give their patients pharmaceutical type drugs for parasites and also for fungus. (Although you say he is holistic ... Hhmm ... personally I would definitely not want to take drugs). Not sure that I would go to a MD for an holistic a

Thanks aquadecoco. Yes ... I love nettle tea. I just picked some nettle tops the other day and gave them a rinse and then put them into a tea pot and poured over boiling water. Then left them to brew for 15 mins. Very pure and clean taste ... different to the nettle tea bags which I mostly use. I would try making a nettle sun tea (not using the boiling water), but it is the boiling water

Yes ... a lot of people change their name when they are on a spiritual path. I've come across various ... not new or strange. It is very popular in some of the Indian spiritual circles too. A guru will give you a new name at certain times.

I would like to start including some raw nettles into my diet. How do you stop the sting when eating them raw? I think I have heard that they lose their sting when juiced (makes sense as the fibre sting part has gone). How about when they are blended? I think I heard somewhere that they no longer sting when blended ... is that true? Many thanks, John

As a vegan ... I definitely stay completely away from honey and any bee products (very, very easy as I never liked the taste of it anyway and totally prefer raw agave etc instead). Einstein calculated that humanity would only be able to exist on this planet for 4 years if the bees died out (other scientists have calculated it as approx max 6 years). They are so vital to pollinating our food s

Lesa, Many thanks for your kind reply to my message and for kindly sharing your Nori Roll recipe. I'm sure some of the members of the forum will enjoy your Nori roll recipe, so many thanks. Sadly as I said ... I have tried Nori rolls before and really did not like the taste of them (sorry for all of you who love them ... I have never liked the taste of avocado or stuff from the sea). Just to add to my previous message. Caution: I would not wear the pure essential oil blend against mosquitoes during the day when in the sun (sun + essential oils on the skin ... not a good idea).

I would like to start adding sea veg (nori, arame etc) to my diet on a regular basis. I have been vegan for a long time and veggie before that, but even as a meat eater ... I never liked the taste of sea food or stuff from the sea. So do you have any recipes to mask the taste of the sea veg, so that I can enjoy having them in my food. I have tried nori rolls and I sadly really didn't enjoy

I use organic pure essential oils. Lavender, citronella (you may not like the smell of citronella ... I don't mind) and some others repel mosquitoes. If I travel to e.g. India etc I mix some up with a natural (organic raw oil) and put it on my body in the eve. Also I mix some with mineral water and put in a small plastic spray bottle and squirt around bedding and curtains. You can get essenti
