wow, so many great responses! thank you to everyone who replied with your input! hmm...still not too interested in "crafted food" but trying it once might not be too bad. i am just not a flax/raw nut/oil/date type raw person. i find nuts so hard to digest, i like the more simple and easy to digest type of raw eating. like just mono fruit eating, or lots of romaine, tom

i did not need any researchers to tell me this, going raw sometimes=going broke... ok, maybe a bit overboard, but why is it that fresh raw healthy food costs more than refined junk/processed food...and corn products? like corn is in everything...corn syrup, corn flour, corn...children of the corn? hahaha, ok but like my food bill is way higher than most people where i work, and they eat

durians yoga crafted raw foods: as in...raw stuff crafted to look like cooked stuff, like raw pizzas, tacos, chocolate cakes...etc... out of all the above, i should probably start doing yoga, one day i shall try a durian, although i dont know how, because i have never seen one at my local safeway/wholefoods/traderjoes. hmmm...not too excited by crafted raw foods, but hey,

OMG, you guys are so freakin funny!!! uti: love the pic. ok, so i went back to my Safeway to find that these beautiful persimmons were like $2.50 each (more or less). jeez, to be satisfied i would need to at least eat like 10 in one day.... i didnt buy them, i saw organic bananas for 79 cents a pound. i didnt get the bananas either. i just decided to not eat any solid food, but

my question is this: are organic apples and tomatoes waxed? the guy in the produce dept. always says to me "no" but i think that he is just saying what i want to hear. sometimes the oranic apples are a bit to shiny to look natural, and the organic tomatoes i bought tonight seemed like there was a touch of wax, or not? i admit to paranoia

wow, thanks uti for the link. uma, i almost started a banana mono today, when i got off of work and went to whole foods. and i saw all those very cheap and ripe organic bananas and thought wow, what filling and easy dinner that would be. but my mouth just was not craving sweet sugary bananas, they are almost candy! i was drawn to a pile of organic ripe red slicer tomatoes, huge ones, bo

oh uti, thank you for the link and your responses. "I make a big bowl of banana ice cream from frozen bananas run through a champion juicer, my popcorn replacement for watching a video." how cute is that, i just had to laugh...i miss chowing down on paul newmans organic no salt fat free microwave popcorn! so good and yet soooo bad! its one of the few grains i will occasionally

like for instance, i get intense cravings for green, like romaine or spinach. and when i satisfy this craving i feel so good. yesterday i got my old craving back for: raw cauliflower! i crave this sometimes so intensly. i bought a few heads of raw cauliflower and just rinsed them and ate them plain and raw, and i felt so good. i wonder if it is because my body is needing minerals o

"Remember the REAL power of a fast - it's what you're NOT eating! LOL. " oh so true, i sometimes forget the logic of that! sometimes i just try to simplify my life, i get so overwhelmed. and i need to start spending less, bananas are so cheap! how easy would it be, to be like everyone else at my place of work, they eat cheaply and mindlessly, how easy would it be to be l

has anyone ever tried this? i have noticed how inexpensive bananas are. also no chopping or storing, just peeling. i am afraid of blood sugar spikes, so i have not tried this yet. i still think bananas are "fattening" any experiences?

why not just eat the oranges? just mono-eat oranges, it sounds like a simple solution, plus less of a blood sugar rush from drinking the juice. at least thats what happens to me, i get too quick of a blood sugar rush from juice.

hi prism, a nice lady at the Supermarket checkstand (Luckys) gave me a great tip, (instead of freaking out about all the pineapples i was buying). i was telling her how hard it is to get ripe ones, but i ususally go by a sweet fruity smell from the bottom of the pineapple. she said to take off the top stalks, (which i already had done) and store them upside down, so that the sugars and j

coconutcream, i think thats awesome that you ate those 7 oranges, whole, but quartered. i like to mono eat one fruit at a time, and when i do it can be alot, like 2 whole pineapples in the course of the afternoon, or 2 whole pineapples for dinner after a long day at work, when no good food was available. do you ever feel guilty like you "pigged out"? i try to get over that feeli

red navel oranges? never heard of them? are they organic, are they safe to eat conventionally? (like have they been overly sprayed?) i find that i have to eat oranges whole. as much as i enjoy fresh squeezed o.j. it sends me into "sugar shock".

i find that i cannot digest raw broccoli or raw spinach. i crave the flavor of broccoli so much. so i will eat steamed broccoli, i consider a treat more that a super health food, because i steam it soft enough so i can digest it.

hi everyone! yes, i too have noticed that pineapples are riper in the winter, and i think its because of the opposite seasons! when i do a pineapple mono fruitarian fast i can eat up to at least 3 pineapples a day...yes that is a lot! but an avereage pineapple has about 300 calories, so this is a bit under 1000 cals a day! so it gets embarrassing always going to the stores and spendin

what does a ripe pineapple look like, ahh...if i could only go by looks there would be no problem. an even all over golden color is a good start, but that can still be decieving. (i once bought some organic pineapples from Whole Foods that were dark green, and they turned out to be the sweetest ripe pineapples, with a white flesh!) also, when the top leaves can be easily plucked from th

and as you can see from the user name i choose, raw pineapple is my thing! altho i am a bit frustrated trying to find good pineapples, the growers seem to pick them when they are not fully ripened. and having a raw pineapple that is not fully ripened causes my mouth to bleed-NOT FUN! fully ripened pineapples are true heaven, i luv to do pineapple mono fasts, its an amazing experience.
