I recently heard that young coconuts that are white on the outside have actually been dipped in dangerous chemicals that does leach through to the inside of the coconut. Will someone please enlighten me on this subject? Thanks in advance! Denise

Thank you all so much for your replies! I’m not giving up on my GS :-). Actually about the cleaning, the only thing I was having a problem with was the screen. It seems to take a bit of work to get all the carrot pulp out of it. I suppose I will just start getting up earlier so I won’t be late to work. And when I juice my wheat grass I will open all the windows and turn on the fan. :-)

Hi all! I have had my GS for a few weeks now and finding I am becoming more and more dissatisfied with it. :-( To start with I only used it one time and had to return it because it was defective. Took three weeks to get it back. I watched the instruction video that came with it and they make it seem way easier than it actually is. Clean up is much more detailed than they say it is. I

I bought some for the first time. They are so yummy but very salty. I was wondering if I soak them some of the salt can be rinsed away. Or would I also be washing away nutrients as well? I’ve heard you should soak dates before you eat them and was thinking maybe that is true also for the dried olives. Thanks, Denise

I absolutely love strawberries!!! Since going raw I have tried to use organic produce as much as possible. My dilemma is strawberries, as I am aware that they are in the top ten lists of foods that should be eaten organic due to the high saturation of pesticides. The problem is this; every place I buy organic strawberries they are $4-$5for a small pint size for basket and they are very poor qua

Hi all! I finally opened up my new green star juicer last night promptly tried it out with some carrots. Today, I attempted to repeat the process and the machine keeps turning off after a few seconds. Even with no carrots in it. My BF & I disassembled and reassembled several time, and the thing still will no stay running! Everything looks to be in place. We took all the parts off to se

GREETINGS PERPENDING!!! I am so happy there is someone else here in Stockton who is into raw food. I went 100% raw in Jan of this year and almost slipped a few times. I haven’t eating cooked food, but I have had some wine & green tea. I don’t know how much of a determent that will be to my quest or not. I did go through a horrible withdrawal giving up caffeine in the first place.

Hello, I want to start growing my own wheat grass for juicing but am perplexed about what method to use. I was thinking about getting the Sproutman wheat grass sprouter tray. There was only one review on the product and it was a complaint about mold. I would appreciate any advise/comments. Thanks All! Denise

Hello everyone, I am trying a new recipe from the RawVolution cook book. It is for the nut loaf and directions say to use a homogenizer attachment. I don’t have one, so my question is, does it really matter? What is the reason for homogenizing? Oh, and I have the onion bread recipe in dehydrator right now. I just know it going to be sooooooo good!! It has to be dehydrated for 24 hours,

I have an unopened pack of adzuki beans from last shopping trip to the local health food store before I went raw. I have since heard that not all beans are ok to eat raw, such as kidney. Does anyone know if adzuki's are ok to sprout & eat raw? Thanks in advance! Denise

Hi, I'm fairly close to you. I live in Stockton. I just helped my son move to Sac. I know how you feel; it sure would be nice to get to know some raw folks in Stockton. I have been 100% raw for a month now. Never had craving for cooked food until 2 days ago. I think with the weather being so cold and rainy, and being around and smelling cooked food, it has finally got to me. I ALMOST c

A week ago I bought some organic portabella mushrooms from Whole Foods. I’ve been keeping them in these special green bags that are supposed to help preserve your fresh produce. The mushrooms smell funny, almost fishy. Does that mean the are spoiled? I hate to waste them as they were very expensive. Thanks! Denise

Hi, This is the second time in about a month that I have come down with a urinary tract infection. Has anyone ever heard of or experienced this as a result of detox symptoms? I just think it is very strange and coincidental. I’ve had only one bladder infection in my whole life and it was 35 years ago. What really bothers me is having to take antibiotics...again....and so soon after the la
