Odd. I was under the impression that this was a staple of raw eating and I was late in the game. oh well maybe just a few of them mixed in with something else would be better I was just eating them by the handful crunching away on them while watching a movie.

I just had some sprouted stuff- lentil, pea, and something else mixed in. I liked them but I do not thing I am digesting them very well. Is this something one can get used to or is it possible I just can't handle them? -DaveK

I still have yet to try it. I imagining throwing ginger juice in there would do about the same thing.

In my case, and maybe in yours, it seems to be a genetic thing. Both my parents have it.

Juice feasting sounds more my style. In my definition, what you call feasting would still be fasting to me since I wouldn't be eating solid food. -DaveK

134. Re: GERD
Just as a note, I had GERD even when I was fasting believe it or not. Not reflux per se but I was still feeling pain in the upper part of my chest. It's been really disappointing for me. Whenever I see these commercials for all these acid reflux pills I just assume it's because people are eating crap. -DaveK

Yup, have the exact same thing. Even after a 3 cleanses and 3+ months of 90% raw my GERD didn't go away. I was pretty sure it was a hiatal hernia, but it turns out it's not exactly that. I just had an endoscopy yesterday. I have some "irregularities in the z -line" whatever that means, but the doc gave me meds for GERD becuase my esophagus has been getting worn away and needs to

If I soak my almonds, then run them through a centrifugal juicer, will I get almond milk, or will it just send my almonds flying into the pulp bin? Just wondering if anybody has tried this. I have a breville centrifugal juicer. Seems that when I am doing vegetables, the last bit of the vegetable gets *flung*. The only way I could juice greens was by stuffing them in the core of an apple. (W

I was just singing the praises of ginger in the juicer thread, so I wanted to start another thread on it. I'm not 100% raw so I still make ginger tea by boiling the root. However it can still be made drinkable by juicing. I have been putting it in all manner of veggie juices. Obviously it can be used raw by being ground up as well, or just eaten if you're really brave. The benefits of

I find ginger calms AND energizes. It's a positive kind of calm. When I get that warm tingly feeling from it, it's like it's telling me, "Hey man, everything is gonna be alright." My favorite evening juice right now is celery apple ginger. I have heard that celery and apple are good for the brain. In the juice bar they sell it as the "Nerve Detangler." Throw in some

I would think the redness of beets would affect anybody, regardless of their digestive system. Though I guess a quarter cup isn't that much.

awww arugala so sorry! Was it a really good one or relatively cheap? Might be time to start saving for a really high quality one. Who knows how long the one I have will last. I'm sure you can learn to open your heart to another juicer! -DaveK
