31. Re: LOL
Maybe there's 78 year olds who do eat vegetables every day and are "doing fine" as well.
By the way, most people who can get up in the morning and walk to the bathroom unassisted consider themselves to be "healthy".
And of course they never tell you that they cannot get dressed and go to work without guzzling a couple of cups of coffee first. And, further, that the

Today I ate oranges, blueberries, grapes, bananas, strawberries, cherries, figs and dates. Also juicing vegetables.
You mean you ate this way as a sort of semifast? Or as normal daily nutrition? What did you do for protein?

Thanks for advice on soaking Brazil nuts. I have various sorts of nut crackers and none of them are particularly suitable for Brazils. So, I wrap the nut in a piece of cloth and use a hammer.

Yes, I love how so many people have to make the distinction so as not be stigmatized -

LOL! I wish I had just 10 cents for every time I heard or read that...

How on earth can they make and bottle raw nut butters? Doesn't everything have to be pasteurized or else it goes moldy?
In any case, your raw meal sounds wonderful.

Well, there's other things out there that can make us sick as hell without being shedded on or receiving the killshot.
How about 24/7 exposure to 5G just for starters. And there is fluoridated water in some areas and people still use the schit that comes out of their faucets even when they could afford to have buckets of purified water delivered to their home, or pick it up at the pure water

Why does fruitarianism fail? Well, off the top of my head, I'd say that eating nothing but fruit is vastly different from including some fresh fruit along with your other foods.

@RP. Dulse (dried) is quite tasty. It is eaten by some coastal peoples in N. America.

At least as far as most North Americans are concerned, except maybe for the ones living right on the coasts, eating seaweed is just not in our culture. I used to eat kombu; when my friends saw me wolfing down that slimy, well cooked stuff, they would make all kinds of rude noises indicating disgust.
You are probably right about the amount of iodine or any other element excreted (by anyone):

Yes, I saw this on his website several days ago and was floored. 99% of health advisers have no capacity to say, "I have changed my mind. This no longer works for me."
Probably a diet including far more fruit would balance out all that meat protein, and then, sure as the sun rises in the east, people will flip over to something else after that balance is reached. Yin and yang.

Time to revisit this topic.
Abstract
Iodine content in food of plant origin is lower in comparison with that of animal origin due to a low iodine concentration in soil. Urinary iodine excretion was assessed in 15 vegans, 31 lacto- and lacto-ovovegetarians and 35 adults on a mixed diet. Iodine excretion was significantly lower in alternative nutrition groups - 172 microg/l in vegetaria

Thanks for the date caramel recipe. Mighty rich!
I, too, wonder about buying dried sprouted seeds & nuts, etc. For people who eat cooked food (including grains & beans) they would definitely be more digestible, though.
I soak almonds for a good long time, then slip the skins off. I don't think we were meant to eat the skins but that is just my opinion. Goodness me, but home

How do I soak raw nuts and seeds?
As strange as it initially sounds, soaking nuts and seeds is not difficult. Luckily the process of soaking is essentially the same for whatever type of nut or seed you chose to prepare, although the timing varies slightly to accommodate for differences in fat composition, size, texture, etc. Traditional soaked nuts and seeds, are made by followin

I see that V.K. also has false teeth. Well, here's the bald faced truth, folks: there are tons of 82 year olds who are either deaf, (legally) blind or toothless. And they are meat- and dairy-eaters. Did they all preach meat-eating as necessary? I imagine a few of them did. I have a couple of relatives who have been nasty to me in this way.

It would seem to me that vegans (and vegetarians too?) might very well be deficient in taurine. Especially if you are under serious stress (of any kind, not just mental) or are old, you can't depend on synthesis to occur, B-6 supp or not. What do you think? And does anyone here supplement with taurine?
The following article is trying to make a low methionine diet sound beneficial. Taurine c

While I'm here, brown (unrefined, natural) sesame seeds are particularly high in anti-nutrients.
Traditional peoples knew what they were doing when they refined their foods, at least sometimes. E.g

Garlic and turmeric may not be foods, but they are useful for some people some of the time. Children may not lick their fingers after eating garlic, but I do. Yes, I know, I know, it is supposedly a poison which will ruin my brain. My interpretation of this is: it is a powerful dewormer, and when worms die off this can make you crazy. The rest of us use it moderately, as needed.

The primary characteristic of parasites is their ability (and need) to remain hidden. Also, just about everyone think

You can get lecithin made from sunflower seeds in powder form. It is probably not raw. It has less lecithin by weight than the soy lecithin.
Lecithin is high, too high, in phosphorus.
