EricJohannes, well, thanks for the compliment about "teeny-bopper" drooling, seeing as I've unfortunately just turned 40. I only mentioned that that guy David (who I'm vaguely acquainted with in real life) was gorgeous and someone agreed.
Wasn't your comment also irrelevant to the discussion about fruit in Israel?
It seems to me that this board has become very unfriendly. It neve

Hi there
One of Israel's main exports is fruit and vegetables; it's a great place to be raw, as just about everything grows in that climate.
You'll find good quality produce everywhere and you'll also find that Israelis have a big appetite for salad. The typical Israeli salad bowl of peppers (capsiscums) chopped very small with tomatoes, cucumber, onion, parsley and lemon juice is served at

Hi flipperjan
Yes, I'm always prone to being anaemic, so that makes exercise difficult. The smallest exertion, like carrying shopping bags, leaves me so tired I have to lie down afterwards sometimes. I've been like this since 2001 so I'm used to it now as a lifestyle but it makes returning to good health more complex.

Yes, Rose1963 the fibroid is a big one and I look like I'm a couple of months pregnant.
I would definitely like to know what herbs you used. I've sent you a private message.

Thanks for the responses.
I was thinking about doing the Master Cleanse fast. I've done it before several times for eight days or so. I wonder if doing it for longer might reduce the size of the fibroids?

Back in 2000 I was 100% raw for about 10 months. I became slim and full of energy. Then I fell off the raw wagon and got into yo-yo binging. After about six months, I started having problems with my periods and was diagnosed with fibroids.
Anyway, many years later, I'm on the raw journey again, in the hope I can reduce my fibroids rather than have a hysterectomy. I've been happily raw for five

Quick question:
I've been thinking about getting a dehydrator too but I wanted to know if with dehydrated food, there isn't a tendancy to over-eat, like there is with cooked food? Just the idea of crackers and breads makes me feel all nibbly.

I've also never used a dehydrator but I'm curious about them.
If you prepare dehydrated food, isn't there a tendancy to over-eat, like there is with cooked food? I can imagine that if I made something like flax crackers, I'd just nibble them all at once.

9. Re: Gherkins
Thanks for your replies. I should have refined my question as being - are they cooked?
I didn't think something pickled in vinegar in a jar would be cooked. I was just verifying that.

10. Re: Beets
Grate a beet up with a couple of grated carrots, add some pumpkin seeds, some chopped ginger, maybe a little chopped garlic and then dress with some olive oil, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and a good dash of shoyu (raw soy sauce). Leave for flavours to blend for an hour or so! Then eat with chopped avocado and some spinach leaves.

11. Gherkins
Sauerkraut is raw, isn't it.
What about pickles like gherkins? I know they've been cured in sugar and all kinds of ingredients but if you drain the liquid off, can they be part of a raw diet?
