thank you Tamukha, for some reason I was under the understanding that things did not ferment when they are cold. I don't know if I could leave a bottle of GT's kombucha in the refrigerator for that long, too yummy and tempting. and if they continue to ferment, I wonder why GT's enlightened kombucha says its reformulated not to continue to ferment, (or something to that effect) its n

so what you are saying is that you uncapped the ginger kombucha, and then let it sit for awhile? for how long? did you let the caps stay on top, but still opened, or did you just leave the bottle completely uncovered? where did you leave it? Were you worried about airborne germs or mold getting into it? thank you for responding, please let me know!

I also posted this in recipes section. I hope it is ok to post it here, if not, much apologies. I realize a lot of members on this board are against kombucha and I respect that, so only those who are into kombucha kindly respond, please. I am not yet ready to make my own kombucha. I want to take a bottle of GT's Kombucha and ferment it even longer. I don't want to take the lid o

I am not yet ready to make my own kombucha. I want to take a bottle of GT's Kombucha and ferment it even longer. I don't want to take the lid off of it, I want to keep it sealed. I want to ferment it long enough so that it is sour and more of the sugar is finally fermented. Can this be done? If I leave it sealed, will the bottle explode? I really do not want to unseal the bott

can anyone guess what my answer to this topics question would be? Speaking of Kombucha, I am so sad and dismayed about GT's Kombucha being pulled from the grocery shelf. Anyone else frustrated by this? All the other brands of Kombucha are way too sweet and sugary. Hey Budhistforlife, I agree that Kombucha should be allowed to ferment for a way longer period of time than the

what is up with goitrogens? I drink a raw juice of celery, kale, and broccoli, Is that filled with goitrogens? I dont like those particular veggies in a solid form, so I have them juiced. But I do like steamed broccoli, can not eat it raw.

I dont know if I might try that myself. Lately I have just been buying the raw fresh-cut pineapple chunks in the plastic containers from Whole Foods, out of convenience. But I worry about that plastic container that contains

yes its true that the pineapple MUST be ripe, if not, then it will burn your mouth, and make it bleed. sad thing is, pineapples are usually picked regardless of their ripeness or not. even sadder, pineapples DO NOT continue to ripen after they have been picked. so it doesnt matter how long they sit on ones kitchen counter, they will not continue to ripen. at the supermarket I s

Janabanana... how does one deal with the bouts of fear that sometimes occur while fasting? kind of like self doubt or fear of something... i do like the highs that also occur while fasting.

ok, so if one was to drink raw juiced beets in small amount, what other veggies would be good to juice and mix with the beets? i would think celery and cucumber, and i would just for myself avoid carrots and apples, only because i prefer a low sugar juice.

in my experience, i reacted to fresh squeezed beet juice and carrot juice badly because of the extremely high sugar content in beets and carrots that is then concentrated in juice form. this caused a mass blood sugar spike, and was unpleasant. i like to drink the low glycemic veggie juices, my favorite blend at the organic juice bar is a combo of kale, cucumber, and celery.

good question, I see so many jars of organic raw cultured sauerkraut at Whole Foods and other health stores in the refrigerated section, and its always loaded with salt, and I think, WHY??? One might ask "why don't you make it yourself?" I like the convenience of buying things pre-made, just like I like to have my kale juice made at the juice bar instead of making a mess

hey banana who! yah, they are on the dirty dozen. once a year I do see organic cherries, but I don't think they sell very well, they are at an outrageous price, could even be up to $10 or more a pound. Krefcenz...Cherries are the pits!!! hahaha!

WAH! I ate a bag of cherries last night, not organic, I should know better. they were very good though, but I checked and they are on that "dirty dozen" list of the worst offenders on non-organic produce. were these organic cherries that all on this thread are eating?
