Thank you for the reply. I would love to analyse the water kefir to see what was actually in it but no idea how to get that done....for probiotics I am wondering about using normal yoghurt starter in coconut milk to see how that works out...

when you fast its normal to get hypoglaecemia . However this will usually be for 2-3 days until your body adjusts to the fasting and then will get less. I dont personally think it is a reason not to fast, or that your adrenals necessarly have a problem (having experienced the same) as long as you take a lot of rest - when you start eating again you will go back to normal and feel increased health

well I have now stopped taking water kefir and think I may have had an adverse reaction to it. I noticed in the beginning when taking it that I felt a bit weak in the limbs and sleepy. However I thought that was due to the alchol and I could keep taking it in small amounts. My husband also at times was very sleepy after it... however over time the sleepiness seemed to pass and I would find mysel

mostly I just go out in the early morning and after 4 pm sun - I dont think its dangerous those times and I hope I still get some sunshine benfits...and sometimes i go for a midday swim but limit it to 30 mins or so so I dont need sunscreen. SO when I have to be walking around in the sun all day I use the lotions and feel that the few days I use them wont do me much harm...

water kefir is made with sugar or fruit juice (lots of recipes online) - it is just called water kefir as opposed to milk kefir. Most of the sugar is supposed to break down in fermentation I dont suppose much alcohol would be produced after 12 hrs - after 24 hrs even I think the content would be fairly low but I dont know for sure. Are you using milk or water kefir grains because I suppose ther

Thank you for the replies - its a shame because it really does taste good as you say - if you make with sarsparilla its especially good...its surprising that its advertised as something to give to your kids in place of soda...do you make anything else in stead of the water kefir?

I think its very dangerous to teach / attempt such type of practices before the body and mind are ready for them....I do believe its rarely possible though

Hi - I am using 1 tbspoon sugar to every cup of water which is what the instructions said...the taste is great - not too sweet or anything but just this alchohol problem!! Because my climate is hot that may not help so I'll play around with it some more... I dont react badly to dairy but I notice cows are always tied up all day here so I dont feel comfortable drinking milk anymore- cow is suppos

I visited what I think is about the only raw food restaurant in India - its in auroville. The food was delicious but we paid quite a high price, got a fixed price plate for lunch and were still so hungry after - my husband immediately wanted to go somewhere else to fill up - this is not good advertising for raw lifestyle...

I found out about water kefir on this forum because I was looking for good probiotics (after taking a lot of antibiotics some time back I have a tendancy to yeast infections). I made a few batches of the water kefir with sugar, jaggery and some lemon, also tried putting in juice for second fermentation. It tastes really great but its alcoholic - I can clearly feel that after drinking it and my

Well I was really impressed with their birthing techniques on the video link someone posted recently (although don't know why they need to speak so slowly ). Anyway I am really shocked hearing about this whole deer antler thing - people like them promoting such a thing??? I will write to them too.... It is so unecessary given how many herb and mineral health giving supplements are available..

I've never heard of neem oil being used as a dental cleanser. Most neem oil sold here has not for internal use written on the bottle and only some special ayurvedic pharmacies make one suitable for internal use. It is very good for healing gums sores for short term use but I don't know about long term use as a cleanser.... there are toothpowder here which use neem along with many other ingredien

When I took a fasting on coconut water I noticed my teeth became very sensitive so I can imagine the same thing may happen eating only fruits.... As far as DRider goes - I find his dedication to raw foodism admirable in one way but mostly think he's quite obnoxious as most people here feel - but since everyone knows his posts are just going to be links to his videos, the easiest thing seems to

Marsh I don't think I would want to swallow something I had brushed my teeth with - wouldn't it contain all the stuff you want to get rid of? Neem oil is great for gums in my experience - heals up ulcers etc. in no time. Salt water rinses are also good. As far as more serious problems - I prefer not to risk it and just get the dentist to sort it out - but always question a lot if what they wan

at my dentist he used some kind of laser radiography and the dentist doesn't even go out of the room for it - apparently uses only a very small amount of the radiation of the conventional type.

personally I think a bit more belly and a little more body fat are more attractive - but thats just me. I don't think its good the pull your belly in advice though because that restricts the diaphragmatic breathing and you will be more likely to breath with the upper chest which is not healthy.I have been to breathing physiotherpists and they always stress that being told to pull the belly in

you can try buying online something called Meera hair wash powder - it contains Indian herbs like shikakai, tulasi , hibiscus and fenugreek. it also contains soapnuts which is I think what makes the cleansing and slight foam action. I don't think it contains anything artificial (not listed on the box anyway) but I can't say 100 % as ingredients are not always listed in India. But the smell is

Hi - well I don't think I can ask the grocer here to cut a whole melon - I don't think they'd want to waste one like that. The greenish skin coloured melons do seem to give a good smell when ripe but I can't feel any smell at all from the yellow skinned ones (sorry I don't know variety names) . So I guess the hollowness test is my best bet for that type...

I think raw vanilla powder is normally the Tahitian kind of vanilla . The curing process happens naturally in the pod without the need for hot water treatment like for bourbon vanilla. Normally it is infusion in milk and sugar that brings out that great vanilla taste. But I make sometimes a custard type of thing with thick coconut milk, some sugar (or other sweetener) and vanilla powder. You pr

Hi - I keep buying melons and then I cut it before it's ripe (even though it seems to smell OK) or else I wait to long and it gets a soft bad spot. Just wondered if there is any knack to determining when it is ripe - especially the yellow ones. Thank you very much

I would support what power lifer said about Rooibos tea - it's really good - I like it both with or without milk (rice milk or whatever) - I like it as much or more than black tea. And you can also add spices to it (ginger, cardamom cinnamom etc.) to make a chai, or else some vanilla if you want something a bit sweeter. But I like it most plain. Honeybosch is also good although I had to aquire

I don't know about the answer to your question because I've heard different things from different people. I also find it really hard to enjoy food without salt and I've tried. But I would imagine that if you just suffer for a month without salt, finally you will get used to it and start to enjoy un salted food. What about Himalaya rock salt? I've heard that is very good for the body and its qu

some supplements can cause constipation in some people ---spirulina has a bit of that effect for me and I've read that its a possible side effect... maybe increase salads like grated carrot and beetroot. I wouldn't substitue water for green tea since its diuretic.

I feel really good with moringa powder - it seems to make me feel more clear headed and energetic without feeling any stimulant effect....and I tend to get side effects to everything but so far have had none with moringa....I think it has a bit of an anti inflammatory effect too..

I may be allergic to maca root and thats why it made me tired - its strange though that I felt super energetic in the beginning before the fatigue set in. I had a similar reaction with noni juice. In both cases I was told that if I went through a few weeks like that I would come through it and start to feel better but I had to work and couldn't do so with such strong fatigue... I wish maca could
