Ah, too late to edit. I just remembered something critical. The biggest reason why you might not want to buy the Sedona is if you plan to dehydrate meat regularly. The Excalibur and other brands would be better for that. The reason is the Sedona heating element does not go as hot as the Excaliburs can even though the ratings both say they can go to 155 F. I've not done a test so I can't verify th

I have only tried the sedona dehydrator so I don't have a basis for comparison, but I will say that I love it. I have noticed things close to the door don't get dehydrated as much, so I've made a habit of leaving about 2-3 inches clear on the tray where the door is. I suppose I could just rotate the tray when I flip things though. Seems like more hassle though. I'm not positive but I think the ex

I've become very aware of water lately. I am certain that the tap water in the house where I am a boarder surely carries chlorine and probably other undesirable chemicals. I've read that boiling water or aerating water in a blender can help with the chlorine. I'm looking into an under the sink filter but am not sure how much longer I will be here before moving on. The couple I live with have

I stopped by a restaurant equipment store next to the health food store I go to. They only carry Warring food processors. The owner of the store said it was due to the Warrantee. The restaurant supply store would essentially be the "service center"on Waring' behalf. So if I had a problem covered by warrantee, I could go to the store, give them my model, they give me a new model and I go

To whom it may concern, my designer series wildside blender struggles in making hummus, which is why I'm on the market for a food processor. I love it for making smoothies though. It is so easy to clean, and I love being able to jump between 10 speeds, having control over the speed is critical in my opinion. I initially had the vitamix 5200, it drove me nuts that I had to use the variable dial

PM an admin as far as promoting your product on this forum. I'm sure some people here are curious about your product (I am at least). As far as spreading the word, why not send the founder of this website John Kohler a message or call etc over at discountjuicers.com, he does reviews for various products and has a ton of videos on youtube under several different channels. On the larger scop

I'm looking at food processors again, I hope you don't mind me resurecting this thread. I'm curious, why has no one mentioned the Waring food processors? I did two big papers for a business 101 class on a local business D.C. I chose a raw food take-out business called Khepra's Raw Food Juice Bar. They use the Commercial 3.5 Quart Batch Bowl food processor -the WFP14SW. Although I see there are

Did the home test on Candida, when I spit in a clear glass of water, the spit sunk to the bottom pretty quickly, and there it remained when I checked back 15 minutes later. So it seems I do have a Candida problem. I'm thinking I'm going to remain on the cleanse for 3 more days and use up the lemons I have left and then ease off. Going to hit up local homebrew shops today and see if I can fi

Ok so I'm looking into fermenting solutions for the probiotics. I'll probably order a perfect pickler if I don't find what I need at a homebrew store closeby. Powerlifer, You mentioned rice bran in another post as a prebiotic, I assume you are talking about the grain and not the oil? Also as far as kefir grains go, can you recomend a starter batch? I've had kefir grains for a short while

Thanks powerlifer. Found the answer to my other question on a different forum. I'm supposed to wait for the coating on my tongue to disapear and return to it's natural clean pink color. Darn. Looks like I'll have to keep going.

I'm on day 10 of the master cleanse and am wondering how I am supposed to know when to ease off, eg detox is done. Also, what foods would I eat to refurnish my intestines with probiotics? Glad to see the board is still alive and well

Hi, I'm totally addicted to Wildwood brand Emerald Valley organic medium or hot salsa. Does anyone know how to replicate this with a home-made recipe? I've tried making this salsa twice with very different results. I feel like I'm missing something. I've tried roasting jalapeno peppers and just blending them up but it's more of a chemical burn, whereas with emerald valley there is more flavor

Thanks Powerlifer, that was helpful. I'm pretty sure that lemons are acidic, but the body's reaction to it is alkaline (the acidic lemon is converted to alkaline ash once digested). I've been juicing or blending lemons quite a bit and from what I can tell it's definitely a plus for my health although I don't know if it slows or speeds up digestion, my impression was that it speeds it up if a

Thanks for bumping this. I am relatively new here, so I had not seen this. It serves for me as a sobering reminder as to why I'm on this forum, I'm really impressed with the original post. The peripheral disturbances that I've been aware for some time are now bare and in front of me in full vision. I ground myself by over-eating, but it's not really "grounding" it's more like self sa

What do you tend to use for bitters Powerlifer? Are you purchasing liquid extracts? I just read in THeSt0rm's thread Do Greens Slow Digestion? that lemon juice inhibits indigestion. I'm kind of surprised. I thought that lemon juice was corrosive in nature since it's acidic. I know so little. Good thing I'm here =). ~Adam

Ah thanks chat. That's interesting about the acidic juice and heavy food. I'm glad you told me about the protective coating on the supplement. I am a salsa addict, I juice and blend lemons regularly too so I gotta be careful about my digestive lining. Tamukha, I'm a skinny guy, I'm 135 lbs as is. I could benefit from putting on a little bit of lean muscle mass, certainly not lose any more wei

I laughed my head off starting this thread. My questions are sincere but at the same time it seems kinda ludicrous too. Chat, I don't get it. How are you supposed to take enzyme supplements if you're not supposed to eat it on the food? I would think people need help with digesting solid food, not liquid food. I have wondered what would happen if you eat something and then drink the enzyme supp

Hi everybody, I had bought an enzyme supplement months ago. E3 Enzymes Supreme specifically. I've started carrying it around with me and using it in cases where I eat cooked or processed food. I've put it on pizza for example. My understanding of what the enzyme supplement does is that it literally digests whatever food it was sprinkled on. In my mind it's like eating something and having i

Well for starters I'm not really raw, I'd like to be raw and I'm leaning towards it but I still eat things I shouldn't. From everything I've been reading though it seems like raw uncooked organic produce is about as safe easy and nutritionally sound as it gets. I've only just started making meals from recipes yeah. I'm still learning about all the intricacies of various produce as well. I've b

Hey, sorry I didn't see this until just now. Yeah one unit is more than enough, unless you really want a tall glass of juiced Wheatgrass everyday. I find I like blending more than juicing most of the time. It's less time consuming and I'm getting the fibers. What's been bothering me lately is I'm not sure what I should be sprouting or not and what I'm supposed to do with the sprouts. I gue

Thanks for the feedback all, Flipperjan: Generally I agree that variety in diet is important, but personally I need a break from deciding what to eat and what to prepare once in awhile. I don't do elaborate creations, but even simple combinations of raw food can be time consuming especially in cleaning the produce, and then cleaning the kitchen. I usually feel too much time has passed if I do

Hey all, I went without solid food for the first time two weeks ago on a 10 day Master Cleanse, I feel I definitely benefited from that experience. I was shocked to discover I really don't need to eat very much. I actually started working out during that time albeit gently. I'm tempted to do it again, I can feel people are drawn to me now, it's weird, it's like they are biologically/chemically

I linked the Dawn on the Amazon menu more as a description of what is generally not accepted in the diet revolving around Ayahuasca. Hi Gems, When I'm on my good behavior, what I do is eat, and then when I'm done eating I'll floss and very gently brush my teeth. So that way when I impulsively open the fridge and look for food I am reminded that I had just brushed my teeth. And I ask myself do I really want to brush my teeth again so soon? I like this arrangement because my teeth feel good clean, so it is an actual positi

Hi all, I was in Peru for two weeks and returned home last week. While I was there I followed the diet expected of me. The purging experience of Ayahuasca was intense. I was thankful that the diet was reducing the pain of purging. Since arriving home I had a tortilla chip and was shocked at how salty it was. It was covered in salt! In this fashion I've become aware of how much salt and suga

I sold my 5200. I've never seen or used the Vitaprep in person so I can't compare. My one disapointment is that I did not have success making hummus with the Twister Jar. I've blended avocado pits in it though. Have not tried blending peanuts. The Twister Jar is not good for wet blends, stuff can fly out at the top along the sides/wall of the carafe. I love the design of this blender, wish

Yeah I thought as much. I got enough mucus as is, I'll go for the veggies and fruit. I love Kombucha though. Thanks for mentioning prebiotics, interesting info. I'll definitely have to check out Chicory Roots and Jerusalem Artichokes, and Dandelion greens if I can ever find em. And the Perfect Pickler is interesting too. I used to hate pickles, but am starting to like them now, albeit in sm
