I found this interesting. A few little blurbs from this International Council for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders: UK slips to iodine deficiency: national assessment Western Europe, North America and Australia had all been thought iodine-sufficient due to widespread use of iodized table salt. While U.S. surveys show marked decline, Australia discovered a significant deficiency

Found more info: 1000 mcg daily is usually ok. Iodized salt is the usual way Americans get iodine. So when I cut out the Sad food, that meant I cut out the iodized salt, too. And then went from probably 300+mcg daily to basically nearly zero. And that's when I got cold suddenly. So if I eat just a little but of sea vegetables every day or every few days, my body temp should go back t

What happens if I overdo the iodine? How much is too much? Can I juice cranberries and eat kelp without having to watch out for too much iodine?

Update: Well I went off of 80-10-10 and went back to nuts and seeds. Thanks to a lot of the good advice on this board, I got some sea vegetables into my diet as well. And I feel good again! I havent lost a single pound. Still at the same weight. But I look better, and I feel like a million bucks. My mood is more stable, and my stomach isnt wobbly anymore. I thought to myself today

So I was thinking, "My my, Miss Information, my info's all out of whack." So I scroogled "low stomach acid" and I found a lot of things, including a site that says about 40% of older adults suffer from low stomach acid, and that betaine-containing foods can help. On this site: I found this quote: Naturally occurring betaine is usually a really versatile substance

She told me that she has a high TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) on her bloodworks, and so do I. She also told me that our family has a history of goiter. Bingo! And we got to looking into natura

which diet is better, raw vegan or cooked vegan with Dr. Alan Goldhamer Did you see that one on there? That is an example of exactly why I went raw in the first place. It was compelling to me in the beginning of discovering how to go raw, how everybody who ate raw food looked like a greek god, and its always these PUFFY and PASTY and tired and lumpy people saying things like 'I beat

It took me 5 years to be serious about raw food on a daily basis, and once I committed to raw, it took me 9 months or so to transition to 90%+ The only difference between winning and losing on this one is to never give up. If you mess up, you go right back to it. It is worth it, it is worth it, it is worth it!!!!

Ya, but it's just an emotion. What if someday I go thru that emotion, and I can see how silly it looks on someone else, and immediately check myself. At least he's putting it out there honestly. If you take right brained comments in left brained context, then you miss the real sentiment behind the thing. He seems to me to be just tired of all this almost. And sometimes I get tired with my

On a more positive note, What this shows is that when you get healthy, you never really lose your character. People come to think of healthy people as boring. They come to think of vegans and raw foodists as washed out, pale, tired, distant versions of themselves with little pasty smiles, all spaced out and "happy" all the time. But as people get healthy, they grow into thei
