Just wanted to thank you for this info, I always ignored naked bars because in my cynical mind I assumed they were dodgy because they were in a packet. I've done some research and by golly you're right they are raw (well as raw as anything in

Hemp seeds, spinach and sweetcorn combined should provide all amino acids needed (forgot where I read that now sorry). I've never eaten sweetcorn raw though, is it ok to do that? :-)

Hi coldmountaingal, Yes it's hard to get away from the judgemental thing. I still hold back about what I tell people about my diet, or I find that I explain it in different ways depending on what I think will connect with them! But it's great when you meet a really positive person who's supportive of what you're trying to do. So good luck with your family and friends, hope they don't give y

You're welcome! What do you mean about how you have viewed this lifestyle? I think I know what you mean but I don't want to assume!

Hi there coldmountaingal! I'm not speaking as an expert, but as someone who did not originally intend to do a raw food diet, but just evolved from wanting to cut out sugar and processed foods. I've only been doing it for about 5 months, but here is some general advice: 1. Be creative, don't get hung up on the 'right' way to do things. Read up on the internet, but just pick out the bits that

It says on the Tiana pack (granules) that it's raw. I will buy some syrup once I've finished the granules, as they never quite melt when making chocolate so the syrup would hopefully give a smoother texture. Messed up an weird on agave??! Please elaborate rawlion..!

I usually have a green smoothie, but this morning I did something different: Sliced frozen bananas (sliced before freezing) Quite a few hemp seeds (shelled) Raw dried coconut sun-dried raisins just enough water to help blend grind coconut and raisins in grinder put all ingredients in blender and blend until you get a smooth ice creamy consistency. I had good energy all morning even th

Has anyone tried coconut nectar as sweetner? It's the only one I use, it's quite caramelly and lovely. You can get it either granules or liquid. I use Tiana organic. As far as I know it's all good! Goes particularly well with chocolate recipes. Julie will you be including coconut nectar in your articles? I tried agave, still got the bottle in my fridge unused, not sure why but just didn't

Hi all, I received my first order of raw organic nori rolls this morning, and at 10pm tonight I decided to roll up some stuff I had in the fridge. Here's how it went: celery carrot peach cucumber ...all thinly sliced, and hemp seeds sea vegetable flakes coconut aminos Next time I'll probably mash up an avocado (but leave out the peach cos fruit doesn't digest well with fats). I'

Even in tiny little Wales there are also many differences, added to that half the people speak Welsh too, and there are many different words in both English and Welsh used accross the country. There's a slightly different accent every 6 or 10 miles too. And Wales is TINY! I looked at the pop map, it's very pretty, looks like a mosaic. Reminded me of Gaudi. I've never seen A Hard Day's

Coconut bacon sounds fun! I don't have a dehydrator though, and not really thinking of buying one, quite happy getting by on green smoothies, veggie nori rolls and banana ice cream (amongst other things!) Yes it was because you said you were female and could open a coconut easily! But I wasn't really being serious, was just a little observation that you'd said it, and a lot of (extreme) femi

I think I'll have to have some time off work to commit to my baby coconuts if I get them! Do you know if it's ok to freeze the meat? I'm never sure about freezing, because I think at some point, it will have same effect on nutrients/enzymes as cooking i.e. kill them. Thanks for the advice, I'm a woman too. I'm guessing you're not a feminist banana who? ;-)

I've done some research, I could actually get young coconut here, either online, or if I drive about two hours to a global trading supermarket! I will continue to look into it, and find out how to open them, what tools I need etc. Any tips? If I get them online, I will have to buy about 4 or 6 together, so will need to know exactly what to do with them when I get them, and will have to eat abou

I've only tried raw soup once, can't remember all the ingredients now. It was missing 'something' so I added a peach which did the trick - goes nice with black pepper too. Maybe some lime would have been nice too, but I didn't have any at the time. I think my soup included avocado, cherry tomatoes, celery, courgette (zuccini), cucumber, spinach, carrot. I warmed it up really gently on the ho

Ah Dylan Thomas, legend! He comes from a very lovely part of Wales on the west coast, Pembrokeshire. I am on the North Coast, we used to go on camping holidays to Pembrokeshire, really beautiful! I still haven't seen the film The Edge of Love about DT, have you? I wouldn't know a mangosteen (different to mango?) or a cherimoya if one bit me on the nose! We get coconuts here, but the ones i

Hi banana who! We have lots of apples and pears in the uk, however a lot of supermarket apples and pears seem to be shipped from overseas. Confession no. 1: organic british cider (occasional treat mmm!) Same for strawberries, raspberries - we have plenty of our own, in season, but often find they are shipped from far away! Supermarkets will advertise things being 'British' as if it's like excl

Hi from Wales! (that's why I'm red dragon, check out the welsh flag!) This is my first post, I thought I'd share the ice cream 'meal' I just had, it was lovely. first I put some almonds, lots of hemp hearts and raw coconut chips in my grinder to chop them up, then added two medjool dates and some raw virgin coconut oil to make a paste. Then I put this with frozen chopped bananas (about 1 1/2
