If you are curious, interested or invested in the raw and living foods lifestyle and looking to meet nice people and families where you can give and receive support, this is the place for you! We believe that our bodies were originally designed to thrive off a fresh, natural plant food diet as described in Genesis 1:29. We also believe that unnatural living, eating processed and cooked foods

Was going to offer the same suggestion about the garlic. Try avoiding it, or using some other fresh herbs instead, like cilantro, parsley, basil, etc. When I get odd symptoms, I give them at least 3 days to change before worrying, because there could be some detox going on, just a bump in the road to better health.

Maybe you'd call it a Green Smoothie "cleanse" I used to do green smoothies every morning. Usually I used spinach or parsley as my green of choice. After a while I got tired of them and really just wanted an all fruit smoothe, so lately that is what I've been doing. However recently my son asked me to put the greens back in, so in they went!

I agree with you Bryan that it is not necessary to take in most of the stuff she is during a cleanse, particularly the oils and stimulants. When I cleanse, I cannot take in that much juice because it is so concentrated. I found it hard to believe that the juice was providing as many calories as she said. I think what it boils down to is she is following someone's cleansing program, which s

Are you all raw? Are you taking any soy? There are some foods you need to avoid if you are having thyroid problems, namely soy, and some of the nightshade plants which tend to bother those with thyroid issues.

They all have different levels of nutrients, so I don't really think that one is better than another. To get all your nutrients in balance it is best to have a variety. I prefer the tender greens since they are more palletable for me personally.

I used to live right near the border in East Long Beach. Have you been to Au Lac in Fountain Valley? I also hear there is a new place near the beach called Terra Bella. Can't remember which beach, but I know it's near Orange. There's also a pretty large raw group out there, I'm sure you'll have fun!

I live in Colorado and although it may not be as cold as the northern states, it does get cold for me since I'm a California transplant. The one thing I will do if I'm feeling particularly cold is have hot herb or white tea, which is better than eating cooked veggies since the body doesn't work as hard to assimilate and evacuate it. Not that I'm advocating this mind you, but if you're going

A few Christmas' ago, I received a toss & chop salad scissors. I used it once or twice then stuck it in my drawer and forgot about it. The other day I "rediscovered" it. I think it helps to solve the salad dressing problem, since it sort of makes a dressing from cutting up all the various salad ingredients. Especially if you include some avocado, you have a creamy dressing w

Well, we do know that oil is not a whole food and it's also pure fat. When I do recipes, I will reduce the amount of oil significantly or really try to use non at all if I can - I agree that oil is really no good, I don't see it as a natural food, and it was originally used for burning candles and annointing people! Also I know some people push oils for nutrition reasons, but when you think a

I'm assuming there are a lot of "roots" in there to make it that flavor, but don't know what they are. I like root beer too - just one of the things I gave up.

There's an egg salad recipe from Rawvolution - if you can get it through your library - I did. I've heard good reviews on it, but haven't tried it myself.

Living on Live food is a great book, it is so packed full of information and recipes - it always seems like I've missed something! However, some of my favorites were too high in fat for my cholesterol so I either amended or had to cut down on them. I cannot eat whatever I want as long as it's raw, as that doesn't fit for me personally - I recommend her book though - my favorite recipe was p

I borrowed it from the library but there was so much to read, didn't have enough time and it was on hold by several others so I couldn't renew. I ended up buying my own copy. It really should be on every vegatarian/vegan/raw fooder's bookshelf.

Israeli salads are raw. Lots of cut veggies with olive oil, salt and pepper. Surely, you can get plenty of produce there. I have relatives in Israel but never been myself.

I think biologically we were meant to live off of a large amount of fruits. It can be a challenge, though, for many people coming from a different lifestyle and diet, who need some adjustment time. Though a lot of greens is also essential for nutrition and balance. Certainly fruit is the most natural way to eat. Although there are things I eat out of convenience that I couldn't get i

Well, diet may help the body to heal physical things and even mental issues, but it won't heal a heart. That is where spiritual healing comes in.

My husband makes our whole family carrot-apple juice in the AM first thing. He needs it in his body before working out, or he gets dizzy and nauseated working out on an empty stomach. I find it quite intense and prefer more apples to cut down on the sweetness, also I like to drink water before hitting the juice. We don't drink a large amount of it, I probably drink 1/2 cup. I am sure i
