Felix, acid reflux can affect the upper esophagus. My singing voice was nearly ruined by acid reflux that I didn't know I had. I had burning in my voice box. It never seemed to affect the area just above the stomach. It IS refluxing probably at night when you sleep. The acid flows all the way to the upper parts of the esophagus.

I don't think they would make your teeth GRAY. Foods make them yellow. Perhaps it is something else.

In response to Alive's post, a simply way to know if your HCL is low without having a test done is this. You can buy some HCL tablets and take them with food. If there is no acid reflux, then you know your HCL is low. It can be reversed by continuing to eat greens. Take the HCL for a brief period until your own body starts making more of it on its own. It shouldn't take too long, a few weeks

Another thought is that I have heard the nausea can help prevent a woman from eating things that are harmful to the baby. There are certain smells and certain foods that each woman is repulsed by. Perhaps those are what she should stay away from.

That may be true, Bryan, but the stomach is usually empty when it becomes nauseous. I was able to stop the nausea sometimes by simply eating one bite of an apple or a cracker. There was nothing to expell, just the nausea. Can you explain?

Then it sounds like your solution is to eat less at a time and wait longer between eating.

That migh indicate that she doesn't NEED dehydrated foods. I would stop giving them to her and just give her more of other things. One doesn't really need dehydrated foods to have a balanced raw diet.

Are you eating too much at once? Are you not waiting long enough between meals? It sounds like the fruit is fermenting in your stomach. Try eating smaller meals and waitng several hours between. Be sure your stomach feels empty and wait a bit longer. You might need to take enzymes in the short run until your body catches up. Or do as Bryan might suggest and do a water fast. Bryan?

I was quite sick with my first pregnancy until the end of the 4th month and not just in the morning. I had all day sickness! My doctor with the second child told me to take 300-500 mg of B Complex daily (it is a complex and the amount will differ, but get the highest dose you can and take it several times a day). I did and it worked markedly to reduce the morning sickness. Be sure to get the

You didn't "catch" a cold from work. You got it because your body is in a state of imbalance. The best way I overcaome colds in the past was to do a juice or water fast. NOTHING ELSE. You will move past it so much more quickly than if you continue to eat anything.

I don't know Uma which city or anything about it. I just went to his website recently. Perhaps I didn't read it carefully enough. You can do a search for Juliano and find out if interested. I am not interested enough to do so as I don't live anywhere near enough to go there if I wanted to.

I am not 100% raw, but I am properly alkaline at 80-90%. Once your tissue ph is properly balanced your cravings for cooked food will diminish remarkably. Work on your ph for now and take the other advice in other threads about balance in other aspects of your life such as exercise and stress management. Let us know how you are progressing. No, it is not "will power." Just tell yo

Going cold turkey can be difficult if you don't prepare yourself for the struggle. I think part of our addictions to food can be the greedy microforms in our tissues craving what THEY need to survive. What THEY need can make US sick. Try to remember when you are craving whatever foods that it is sort of like the microforms are starving to death and they want to force YOU feed them what they wa

Thanks, Rawgosia, but I was actually asking Felix about his emotions! However, it is very interesting as to how you deal with them. You seem to do very well. I am not so successful, which is probably why I have a greater tendency to lean toward the acid side. I am probably afraid of my emotions more than anything else, but it is something I work at constantly. Perhaps we should open up anoth

Trhistani, here is another possibility, something to consider to reduce your struggles. Your body can crave food substances that you’re allergic to. The immune system response to a food allergy causes endorphins and other substances to be released. These chemicals cause a very pleasant "high" to take away the "pain" of allergy symptoms. Your body, in turn, becomes addicte

"Felix, my whole family has been eating heaps of sweet fruit, our staple, plus some greens as desired. We are alkaline. We do not get sick." Rawgosia Rawgosia, that is true of so many people of this board. And as Bryan said, there are so many aspects of health that one has to consider. I recently read somewhere that the two most dominant factors in keeping a balanced PH are foo

I had an additional thought. If you are getting plenty of the proper minerals in your diet, your body will not have to pull from reserves. That is another good reason to eat more than just salads.

Are you quoting from Dr. Young's book, The PH Miracle? Those paragraphs sound familiar. I would indeed validate what was said there. I sounds as though you may be very low in alkalizing minerals in your body. It seems to me that people who have plenty of alkaline reserve in the form of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium do well eating lots of bananas and other sweet f

Rawgosia, I average about 90% raw. I have found that it is not necessary for me to be 100% to have a balanced and healthy body with very few pathogens floating around in my blood. Hwever, I believe being totally raw is definitely ideal. It is just that I have not put in the effort to do so ALL of the time. I have fasted many times also with great success. As for my education, I have a Maste

Okay, I had to add just one more. A recent seven-year study conducted at the University of California, San Francisco, on 9,000 women showed that those who have chronic acidosis are at greater risk for bone loss than those who have normal pH levels. The scientists who carried out this experiment believe that many of the hip fractures prevalent among middle-aged women are connected to high a

In 1889 Pasteur’s proteges, Emile Roux and Alexandre Yersin grew broth thick with diphtheria bacteria and used compressed air to force broth through a filter of unglazed porcelain. The filter was designed by Charles Chamber land, a physicist working with Pasteur; though only a tool, the filter itself would prove to be immensely important. NO bacteria or solids could pass through the porcelain.

In summary: The horses bicarbonate supply is used up and the body's natural buffer systems are stretched to their utmost in the racehorse in work. Acidosis may be more correctly called depleted base (alkaline) reserve. The bicarbonate and other buffer systems have a reduced ability to neutralize the acids - remember that bases (alkaline) are required to balance acids. Remember that acidosis

Regardless of whether it is summer or winter, the end result of (a) converting grain to energy and (b) hard work and stress, is an abnormally high production of BODY ACIDS in the horse's system. Highly strung horses produce even greater amounts of body acids, as they expend more energy than the placid animal. Lactic acid accumulates in the muscle when the supply of oxygen is insufficient for
