If ONLY I could discipline myself enough ... I'd save so much money and the occasional aggravation of always wondering what to eat next ...

It's an inspiring quote; I like it! I'd say 30% the former, 70% the latter.

Very interesting thread -- one I could certainly relate to. It's hard for me to admit, but I recently incoprorated cooked/processed food back into my diet (I felt shame, as I liken it to an ex-smoker picking smoking back up again), but I've finally come to terms with my decision. Why did I do it? 1) It's easier, being married to someone who eats a SAD ; 2) It adds a variety of texture, tas

This is the most challenging part of being raw for me ... Mostly I'm good, but occasionally I will be very, very bad ... but then I just jump back on the raw wagon the next meal.

How I'd love to have my own farm, or at least a fruit tree ... My papaya plant didn't make it, and my banana plant is not bearing fruit. But yes, I buy organic mostly. I so miss strawberries because I'm too cheap to buy them organic ...

"Grains contain opioids and phytic acids, which contribute to osteoporosis." OMG, really? I recently rationalized grains back into my diet ... and I guess I gotta' rationalize them back out. (Just when I was starting to have fun) Because I don't like to prepare ... I mean anything, my menu is so narrow. I'm screaming for variety -- I guess I'll have to hire a raw food chef on

7 months?! Wow, you lucky gal. I've been at it for a year now ... and I can't say the same. However, I can't complain; I only see a stray gray hair or two a couple times a year. But still!

20. Re: TEA
It wasn't until recently I started drinking tea again (mostly decaf) because it keeps me warm ... but I have self-inflicted guilt everytime I down one; especially when I give in to the ones that have caffeine, like now (I had 2 cups, and am jittery).

I don't know what to do with half the stuff I got. I love the idea of getting lots of stuff for far cheaper than I would at like say, Whole Foods, and supporting the local farmers, but I wish I could have some say over the sort of stuff I get in this club. For instance, I received butternut squash, eggplant and potatos. Anyone have any simple ideas as to how to prepare them without having

"There are plant estrogens in the soy with can confuse the body. In general, taking an external hormone like substance is going to wreak havoc with the internal hormonal balance in the body." For women, I wonder if this would be so bad during the pre or menopausal years.

I love the simplicity of bananas, and the fact that they're very user-friendly. They're affordable, portable, pretty and tasty. Plus, I always feel good after eating them.

Wow! You all are brave, or I'm just too paranoid and/or neurotic. I think I'll live on (my version of) the edge and try it out for awhile. It will save me some time and water. There's a water shortage at the moment, so hey...
