I have a 10-month-old, myself, and would like to know more, as well. So far I've been mostly breastfeeding but also sharing lots of fresh fruit and some veggies and smoothies and chewed-up dulse and raw soups with him...I just make sure to avoid certain ingredients in things I share with him (no honey for sure or things he could choke on) But now he's been eating solids for awhile and I would l

I too am working on what to feed my little one...he's just 10 months old and still mostly breastfeeds but munches a lot of fresh fruit and some vegetables, some smoothies and raw soups... A cousin of mine makes broccoli juice popsicles for her 3-year-old who doesn't want veggies otherwise and he loves them. I think she might use a little apple in them as well.. What came to mind in reading

Just to say I've got a bunch of scar tissue too, from surgery almost a year ago to remove a huge infection following childbirth. The scar is unusually large and deep because I wasn't sewn up afterwards--they left it open with a wet saline dressing to help the body push any further infection out (paratinitis I think it's called, spread out among the organs from the uterus). I've been told I coul

Twice pregnant, (I'm pretty sure), very early miscarriage first time, now have 9-month-old beautiful baby, Both times my first clue was swollen tender breasts, which I felt as a teenager more than in my twenties. Another thing I experienced and that I've heard is certain shifts in focus and emotions and thinking and all that. Suddenly you look at your relationship differently, one woman said s

Well, I went to the article... I'm just going by how my baby feels when I eat meat, fish, eggs, dairy (even raw dairy), too much cooked food, and other things--he screams and cries and I listen to cacaphony in his tummy...and feel blechy myself. I'm not about to "sacrifice my baby" for a diet, while pregnant I let go of any ideal and ate all kinds of different things. How can I

hmm, it sounds similar, but my mom still thinks now he's doing it more cuz it gets attention, and so I've stopped giving it attention and it seems he might be doing it on purpose. As to why he started doing that, it seems when he fills up with cmon cmon cmon cmon!! that he does it... think I'll follow my mom's suggestion to try not giving it attention for a few days, then go see a doctor if he

Enjoying this, yum makes me think of Rob Brezny's mantra about finding wetter, juicier problems, about evil being boring, (about pronoia being the antidote to paranoia)... I was reflecting today on how I could take a stance of I know so little, and open up to being amazed by and in life, as opposed to the scientist approach of OK, I know all this, show me something different. We can clim

thanks, all...I kinda agree, myself! I hold little respect for the opinions/knowledge of doctors, but it did occur to me that this would be a time to go anyway.. I think it might be a sign of stress under circumstances and change, but I don't want to risk thinking I know what it is when I may not...like recently I thought I was detoxing when it turned out I was coming down with shingles (adul

no, he comes out of it fine but he seems generally not quite stellar when he's prone to it. my grandma says it's just extra energy... and supposedly some kids do that when they're about to throw a tantrum... me no know... i'm not overly worried now...

Hi all, my baby (8 1/2 months now) love has been doing this weird thing that concerns me--sort of an involuntary (possibly) shudder-shaking, as if his nerves are on superload and he can't contain it--mostly his head and hands I guess. Picture someone on way too much coffee, or someone with some kind of spasmodic twitch. He's done it once a couple nights, and today, midday, after a long nap

I met some rawies in Hawaii from Texas who called themselves "fee" (pronounced "fayy" which means fairies! Beautiful but maybe not everyone wants to call themselves fairies at this point... Dangit, the gay folk have taken all the good names! Even rainbow gatherings get mixed up... :~) Adrienne

It reminds me of the dilemma post-Holocaust whether or not to use the data obtained by Nazi doctors via unconscionable means. It seems there are degrees...

i agree, I don't favour squishing bugs without thought, but when living in Hawaii with a baby, I was all for buying an electric bug zapper racket (though I felt a little guilty, and didn't get around to it..) :~)

In his own words, sometimes the worst ever is the best ever, like George w. Bush, because he is so blatantly icky, is turning more people on than Gandhi (course, that's open to debate) we've all done things we would no longer do, we channel many different energies through the course of a lifetime, in a sense..

I've heard the rumors before and didn't expect much when I found myself at one of his retreats, but I was beyond pleasantly surprised, I was blown away, I just learned and grew so much from the experience. Also, I listened to a rawveganradio podcast interview of him recently where he is asked about that plagiarism--listen for yourself! His basic response, though he doesn't like to dignify the q

I've just started Rob Brezny's The Televisionary Oracle, the most amazing book I've read in a long time. He has another one I'm also getting from the library, Pronoia: The Antidote For Paranoia (say no more!:~) ) The first book you can actually read online, I forget exactly where, one website is freewillastrology.com "rowdy blessings" Adrienne ;~)
