I find this fascinating.. About muscle soreness, I don't know how relevant this is, but supposedly chia seeds are a real miracle food for marathons and such, prevent the builup of lactic acid which causes muscle pain. Adrienne

just to mention maple syrup isn't raw, it is made from raw maple sap, which is much waterier and more diluted... thanks everyone for posting! I thought nama shoyu could be raw, the raw kind...are you saying it isn't or that you use regular stuff, Ian? And is hard cider raw?? And I can appreciate your scotch viewpoint :~) though baby and I will stay away from it... smileys and sunsets

Glad to hear from you all... In the past, when I've eaten all raw (for a few weeks at a time usually), I didn't realize things that I was eating which weren't actually raw, like olives and certain so-called raw nut butters, etc.. So this time I'm into really only eating raw things, perhaps...now that I know better... More often than not, when I've "fallen off the wagon", it was a

I'm always curious what cooked foods people eat when they say they're mostly raw, are they definite foods, say you eat nutritional yeast and blackstrap molasses, or a mix of things...so I'm curious if you have been eating "mostly raw" (or almost all raw, basically) for quite awhile, what do you make exceptions for? I'm personally planning on going all raw, cuz it'd be easier for me,

I've been doing raw off and on for the last bunch of years, and now the sum of my experiences has me believing in swearing off cooked food like an alcoholic off alcohol. I read awhile ago Victoria Boutenko's 12 Steps To Raw Food, and reread recently an excerpt online (available in the "peek inside" at Amazon) that shows why it works better, etc.. And I really do feel that way, that co

also, sometimes strengths can appear as weaknesses, in a way? maybe there's a higher reason for her to be uncomfortable around computers and to feel very emotional...just a suggestion of a possibility, I know not very encouraging. Perhaps if she did some kind of meditation or soul-searching she might come up with the answer in her own self. Like maybe she "wants" to be around compute

Why is eating fermented bananas bad? A friend told me yesterday (I have a baby who'll be eating soon) that her baby got an upset tummy from bananas unless they were verry ripe She also gave me a tip about hand-cranked-baby-food-grinders, inexpensive and gets the stringyness out of bananas that a food processor wouldn't...I'm wondering if I could even use it for myself, will have to check it

Woah, maybe I'm missing something, but what's with the criticism here? Here he's saying he enjoyed great benefits after going raw, nothing jarring with having diabetes beforehand... Though yeah, maybe it's cuz of the edits the message seems a bit ..edited.. not sure getting everything. Have you discovered that B-12 deficiency is the cause of your malaise?? Best of luck Adrienne

Hello all, Well, my baby is 6 months old and I'm still here at my parents' in Canada not back in Hawaii where I thought I'd be, and with the weather clearing and with transitioning back to raw foodin' (my baby thrives best when I eat this way, so hopefully it'll be the transition for good!) I'm planning on starting to make raw foods for the market and possibly some stores and restaurant

Hi~~ I read Victoria Boutenko's 12 Steps To Raw Food, and it made a whole lotta sense and revolutionized a bit my way of seeing things... I too had dilemmas over which was better, all raw or moderation (moderation being even more difficult) after several years of going raw off and on, now with a baby I'm nursing, I finally feel capable of quitting the cooked food addiction, as I need the

That IS a lovely picture, babies are so awesome. I've let my little Dublin lick a cucumber, celery stick, and apple recently. I'd love to post a photo, but how do I do that? As for not being able to breastfeed, my baby was without me for a couple weeks starting when he was a week old (I got sick from unclean water laboured in, I guess..) and my friend fed him coconut water (this was in Hawai

Another perspective is that juice is great medecine, but shouldn't be your main food source in general. In the past, I've noticed that I've started to feel off-balance when I drink a lot of juice; however, there's nothing like fresh veggie juice when I need some good medecine... I've also heard to juice veggies and eat fruits (veggies harder work for the body, fruits have good fiber and their j

me too, us too, my babe's 6 months and I'm transitioning to all(?) raw again and he's Hungry! I've heard they start to need iron around this age, but since I don't want to give him cereal, I thought maybe soaking and mushing up dried figs and such...a cousin of mine says her wee one loves broccoli juice popsicles! of course he's a bit older...There is a website The Garden Diet or something, Jinj
