Just as vegans claim that humans were not created to eat meat, dogs were created to be meat eaters. Most of the veggies and fruits that wild dogs get is in the stomachs of the creatures that they kill to eat. If you decide to feed your dog a mixture of meat, veggies, etc., do NOT at the same time feed cooked food with raw. A dog produces different enzymes when it digests raw v. cooked. You

One thing you should read up on is what to do with the greens that you feed your pup. From what I understand, you pretty much need to juice or blend the greens (if you don't cook them) before you give them to a dog if you want the dog's digestive system to be able to pull the nutrients out of them. Please read up on that to make sure that you find facts that support what I just said. Its been

I go to a holistic vet. I get my animals their rabies vaccine. If they don't have the vaccine and if they were to bite someone, I think they would destroy the animal because they need the brain (I think its the brain) to determine whether or not they have rabies. Although I can't imagine any of my pets biting anyone, I don't want to take that chance. My vet doesn't recommend giving a few of t

I went to a book store and purchased some raw food "cook" books. You can also find lots of recipes for raw food diets (that you use your dehydrator for) on the internet for free.

I agree with you on the raw 'junk' food. I'm 13 days raw and bought some raw junk food and am going to try to not go there again. I'm thinking that so many of us, before we turned raw, were so into purchasing ready made food and junk food that some food manufacturers are creating junk food for the raw fooders now. I am going to really try to just eat food in its natural state, except for nuts

I just tried to find an answer on the internet. One article I read said that the treatment of intestinal worms should begin with a fresh fruit diet LOL

Are you able to exercise much while you are water fasting. I have a pretty full schedule that includes a lot of exercise almost everyday -- riding horses, hiking, running, working out in the gym, etc. I could give up much of that, but not the horse riding. Do you exercise much when you water fast? If so, how do you feel?

Thanks for your responses. You people are so helpful on this site. I've read some posts where people have listed their juice and/or smoothie ingredients and noticed that some people add some sort of oil, etc. I'm not judging them, but it just grosses me out to think that I would add oil to my juice drink! I'm glad I don't need to do that! I am not eating many nuts and seeds. Maybe a handful

I have a Jack LaLanne juicer -- I bought it a couple of years ago at Costco and NEVER used it until I decided to change to a raw diet about 12 days ago. I don't think it is difficult to clean it, and it does do a good job of juicing. However, there is one thing I do notice -- every morning I make a green juice drink with a variety of items out of my refrigerator. It takes me only a couple of m

I am not a picky eater at all, BUT I don't like olives or avocados! Not so good for a raw food eater! Should I add some "good" oil to my green juice everyday? Eat coconut? I guess I could eat a sufficient quantity of raw salad dressing everyday?

Hey juicin' john -- thanks for the info. I may as well wait and see what that new model looks like! I think I need to upgrade my juicer because mind is a centrifugal model and also I am probably wasting a lot of food since my juicer is probably not very efficient!

Sometmes I read posts where someone thinks that some of the posts are from a troll. Do some people selling products actually come on here misrepresenting their reason for being here, and talk about their product to try to "encourage" people to buy it? Since I'm new to raw, I have a few products that I will be purchasing over the next few months. If trolls are really doing this, that
