Best of luck Mislu! No robins here - just a heavy snowfall warning - its spring tomorrow, yes?

I've seen a lot of his videos. I'm not a big fan of the f-bomb or the attacks on others. That said, I do greatly admire the passion and have appreciated the messages, just not always the delivery. There's one video - no swearing, no ranting - just talking about simplicity. There's a donkey in the video that steals the show. The gentle side of life.

Thanks for the tip WY. In my online search for reviews on the manual juicers I could not really find any info on the Manual Miracle Wheatgrass juicer. Lots of good demos and reviews online for the Z-Star. I may purchase it - instant gratification - I can go and get it without having to wait for someone to send me the other one. Just call me Veruca Salt - I want it NOW!

I am wanting one of these contraptions. Not necessarily for wheatgrass but mainly for leafy greens. The health food store has the Miracle Wheatgrass Juicer in stock - $169 They also have the Z-Star in stock - $159 I can order a Healthy Juicer online somewhere for about $55 plus shipping. I guess I will have to compare. I think the Miracle is made of metal, the Healthy Juicer is polycarb

Picking out hiking/camping gear really depends on a plethora of factors. In my experience clothing-wise, you cannot go wrong with some good nylon hiking pants - the ones that you

Sorry Coco - I meant extra added glycerin. More than what the saponification process naturally produces.

Juicerkatz, The recipe I found for the laundry soap also has a recipe for a baking soda/vinegar rinse. I wonder if something like that would help. And also, apparently getting a bar soap without glycerin (vegetable glycerin or otherwise) is important as it will build up on the clothes. The water is fairly hard here, I will see how it goes.

Might as well resurrect an old thread instead of creating a new one. . . Anyone (still) using homemade laundry detergent? Any tweaking done to the recipe? Any tips, pointers? I found a similar recipe that makes about a one gallon batch. Haven't tried it yet but do have the ingredients.

Day 45 - April 23, 2010 Back, Biceps and Abs Butt was really sore today! Yesterday I squatted lower in Plyo - legs were stronger so I could. Was able to up the weight on most Bicep exercises. Still struggling to do an unassisted pull-up. Try, try and try some more. Day 46 - April 24, 2010 Yoga I really enjoy this. It's challenging as all hell. Still have trouble with some o

Day 44 Plyometrics Oh blessed Hot Foot. At least the music is funky for it. Bought a watermelon, a 10 pounder and ate the whole thing for brekkie. Gee Whiz. I think I want a few mono days of watermelon but I will wait for "recovery week" when things are a bit more mellow. Still digging oranges although they are not tasting as sweet as they were. Time to move on to other

Day 43 Chest and Shoulders and Triceps and Abs Things are a teeny bit sore tonight - good - means I worked it! Apples, blended oranges, bananas, oranges, romaine. Must get another watermelon - it's been over 24 hours since I had any and the withdrawal symptoms are nasty. I'm cool with that addiction.

Kamloops rocks. I was born there and spent 16 years there. My brother and mother still live there so I go back once in a while. We always had an awesome garden every year. Summers can be pretty warm if you aren't used to it. 34 to 37 degrees Celsius. 40 isn't unheard of. Central air conditioning is a must if you wish to sleep. They actually had a pretty cold and dry winter this past seaso

Slightly derailed on Sunday. Decided to do yard work in the morning and part of the afternoon because it was going to rain later, thinking it would be the perfect time to workout. And then company came. I did not get a chance to workout. Moral of the story - WORKOUT FIRST AND GET IT DONE! So, wanting to stay on schedule, I worked out twice on Monday. Day 40 - Back and Legs and Abs was d

Day 39 Yoga - seemed to go by quicker today. I am much more flexible than I was when I started. Pretty much the same food as yesterday. Did some yard clean up today - It was nice to have a warm day for a change. I had a lot more stamina this year than I did last year - noticeably fitter I am. Yay!

I am not thrilled with the mini watermelons either. Most were quite tasteless and somewhat mealy. Last year I ate copious amounts of "normal sized" watermelon. Now all I want is a nice hot summer to go along with it. I am sure my Vitamin D stores need a huge topping up. Day 38 - April 16, 2010 Back and Biceps and Abs I have graduated from using the "heavy" band to

Caring for kids and running a household is a lot of hard work. . . physically, emotionally, mentally. . . everything! I no longer have kids to chase around or major piles of laundry or sweeping and mopping of the incessant nature. I still cart groceries around (fruit is heavy!) and use my stairs a lot and there's always the yard work. My day job consists of sitting on my butt in front of a

Day 37 Plyometrics I am really starting to like this cardio-blast. You get a 30 second break every ten minutes or so to grab a sip of water and towel off - you need to towel off. There's only one thing I say "oh god' about when it comes up - some insane being put something called 'hot foot' in the plyo workout. You stand on one foot and jump (hop) forwards, backwards and then side t

Day 36 Chest and Shoulders and Triceps and Abs Push ups are coming along. My shoulders are evening out. I have uneven shoulders from years of not wearing a heavy backpack properly and just slinging it over one shoulder - the same shoulder, year after year. I have started wearing my backpack properly at all times and use a mirror when doing shoulder exercises to make sure I am even - seem
