I bought another dehydrator today, it's better than the one I have. It came from the thrift store so has no manual or literature on it. Inside are four little round containers. Sort of like thin tupperwear. They even have lids and are just over half an inch high. What would I use these for? Raw patties, maybe pies. I am guessing I wouldn't dry things with the lids on? I figured someone her

Hi, I have wanted to make my own nut milk for a while now, but I didn't have a nut milk bag or the money to order one. Thanks to you guys on this forum, I bought a paint strainer bag for $1.60 and started making it. Thank you so much for the tip. I love this forum. I've been making raw granola for a while and using store bought nut milk. Now my breakfast treat is 100 per cent raw. Awesome.

I feel that raw food as become a catalyst for me. I have recently cut my cable. I couldn't live a raw food lifestyle and watch tv. Everything I saw on TV contradicted what raw food was telling me. I am now spending more time outside with my daughter, thinking, reading books to enlighten me, and taking care of myself.

So while I have been eating more and more raw each day, I am starting feel a bit hopeless here. I get stuck thinking that I have far too much weight to lose. But I am trying to get over that feeling and just keep working at it. After eating 100 % for day a tested my ph and it was 8 I was amazed. Then after I eat a small bowl of rice, it was 6.4. Really shows the raw food works wonders. I ca

I am so sorry you are going through this. You are a good friend to stick by and help. When I am in a situaiton where someone and I don't see eye to eye. I think to myself that just because I don't agree with someone, doesn't make them wrong or vice versa. Like a PP said. You do have to be prepared to be wrong sometimes.

So I bought a julienne peeler. I didn't think it would be as awesome as it is. I made zuchinni pasta with pesto, sundried tomatoes, onion and cashews. It's amazing, just wanted to share.

Thanks everyone. And Rawlion, I am going to try your fruit salad idea sounds like a simple solution. I am inching my way in and I feel like I am getting healthier by the day. I lost 16 pounds now. I feel like it's coming off slowly, but at least it's coming off. I feel like green smoothies have changed my life. Now if I start to feel stressed, sad or grumpy I go to the blender and make a gr

Congrats on the pregnancy rawlion. You are truly an inspiration to me. I love reading your posts and seeing how drastically you have changed your life. I sure hope to follow in your footsteps. My daughter is two and it took her one month of me drinking green smoothies twice a day before she decided to try some. She drank about 300 ml and her only response was "delicious." What is

What do you pack in your lunch at work. I eat my breakfast at work too, getting myself and a two year old can be tricky. Every morning I bring some homemade raw granola and almond milk and a green smoothie I make the night before and store in the fridge. I have an old garage sale blender I keep at work to make a second green smoothie for the afternoon too. I am just not sure what is

Well I am down 11 pounds. I am pretty happy about that. My fridge is bursting with greens and whenever I get a craving for something unhealthy, I make a green smoothie. When I get a craving for a green smoothie, I also make a green smoothie. I blew out my blender yesterday and it started smoking. So that one is retired. I am not able to get a fancy expensive blender. I am just been using ones

When I was pregnant my midwife told me that even yougurt that says it's probiotic, really doesn't have that much in it. She said they only have enough to say it's in there. I brew kombucha at home.

Thanks. I am feeling so much better on the greens. I am trying to make greens about 40-50 per cent of my food. I have also just started making raw granola and porridge out of buckwheat so that is pretty exciting. Lately it seems my weight is staying pretty much the same, but the energy I have and how I feel is good. While I am a big girl, I do work out and enjoy powerlifting. I can

So I am back on raw. I tried a few months ago with some success and then back on cooked food. Beans and rice and veggies mostly. I need to figure this out and get healthy. I know in my heart that raw is the only answer for me. In a perfect world I would drop 140 pounds. To be healthy I need to loose at least 100 lbs. So far in two weeks I am down 7 pounds. I have been merging back on raw

Good question. I love kombucha too and have been brewing my own. I read the scoby eats all of the sugar to grow and ferment the tea. The mixture has to cool to room temperature before the scoby can be added. If the scoby is added to it when it's hot, then it will die. I just bottled my kombucha with fresh apple juice. I am letting it double ferment right now. They might package it as raw

Hey just wanted to see who makes it and drinks it. I just made my first batch. it's pretty good, Mind doesn't really have any fizz to it, but other than that it seems normal. I used wheat berries. What do you us? Do you add any other flavouring to it once it's done? How has drinking rejuvelac helped you?

Hi thanks. I have $40 a week for the two of us. The Sunflowers sound like a good idea. I love the way a raw deit makes me feel. I just need to find a way to encorporate it in both mine and my child's diet. When it's just me it's hard to stick with it, when I am making cooked food for here.

Hi all. I have a lot of weight to lose and I was on here a few month when I was giving raw a go. It was good, I felt good and the weight was falling off. I am a single mom of a young toddler. I was finding it hard to stay raw and feed my daughter cooked food. I am on a limited budget and can only spend about $40 on groceries for me and my daughter. I am devoted to make this work. I cou

It gives me a bit of a buzz too, at least I am not the only one. Has anyone personally known someone who's gotten paralyzed vocal chords from it?

I drank juice from a medium sized beet each time. About 200 ml. It made me feel kinda buzzed in a good way. Then I read it could paralyze vocal chords or cause a fever. I started to fell ill then, but I think that it was all in my head. I was just curious if anyone had felt amy ill affects or positive ones?

I have been juicing beets for the past couple days. Well one last night and another this morning. I love the beet juice all on its own. The I read that you should never drink it straight and limit the amount. Has anyone had any problems with it? My toddler was taking a few sips out of my cup and loved it too.

Hi there I am pretty new to this raw thing. I've been about 80% raw for three weeks now. Although I feel amazing I find it hard to concentrate at work sometimes. For the past couple days I have been eating raw carrot soup for lunch and I feel great. I think I just need some more starch in my diet. For a newbie like me what are some other ideas for starches. I east a lot of fruit each day

I've been on a raw path for about three weeks now. I have found it easier than I thought, but have had some slip ups. It's nice to see other people just starting out with this too.
