WHAT "letdown"? Those kinds of email are so amusing in their expression and construction that I enjoy reading them and ROTFLMAO.

Just a suggestion, but I add about 1/2 a teaspoon of pure ascorbic acid powder to any health drink containing raw greens. Tastes right, seems right, no digestion problem. I did not enjoy my green drinks prior to adding Vit. C. I believe that that qty of powder = 2 grams Vitamin C.

Powerlifer: I believe that the concentrated granules are usually prepared by taking the coarse herbs, making a tea or decoction, then extracting the liquid, and in some cases this dried liquid is somehow infused with a base (starch, I think) to prevent clumping. But I think that Plum Flower brand doesn't spray the concentrate onto a base, it's pure 100% herbs. I have bought that brand and the

I order my Chinese herbs from maxnature.com They have 100-gram jars of the concentrated, instant granules. Just add hot water and drink after it's cooled down a bit. To find "fo ti" (just a marketing name, I believe) you have to type both "He Shou Wu" and "Ho Shou Wu" to find all brands. There's a lot of choice. Prices are indeed reasonable and so is shipp

I admired him and most of what he had to say. He was reputed to be kind, understanding, and most helpful to people who came to him for advice. His last (that I know of) video on youtube, this one about vaccinations, he didn't look so hot and he had some trouble speaking. This is a sad event, indeed. I recall reading on his Q & A at curezone (years ago) how he identified with the suffering of

I was wondering, Prism, how long ago you were taking that hideous concoction - because they don't prescribe those much any more. The herbs have been made into instant (often concentrated) granules in little packages or sometimes a 100-gram plastic jar. You just add hot water and there's your medicine. I've drunk some of the coarse herbs, too, having boiled them up myself. Some of the formul

You're welcome, Prism. I have learned a lot from Julia & Rebecca but I must say that they are not licensed doctors of Chinese medicine. Where they recommend that you take their liver decongestant formula (a liquid called Chinese Bitters), it really is not well balanced. They know that, too, because they warn that some people (a lot, actually) have reactions. I know I did. Dr. Michael Tie

I see that John Rose has posted an excerpt from Julia Chang's site sensiblehealth.com I suggest you read the whole darn site; it's pretty good. I don't have PCOS but was diagnosed by a Dr. of Ch. Medicine with liver problems even though they are not serious. They can diagnose you before things get too bad.

Cravings, ie, strong desires, during pregnancy are virtually impossible to ignore. I hadn't eaten cheese or dairy food in years, but boy oh boy, I wanted pizza (no meat) so bad I can't describe it. The feeling I had when I wolfed down my first pizza in maybe 8 or 9 years, I can't describe. Like you with your lentil soup. LOL LOL LOL By the 4th month, all those cheezy desires were gone.

Hey, powerlifer, I am not 100% raw either. Also, I occasionally consume raw egg yolks from humanely raised chickens who die of old age, not slaughtering. So I am not a vegan. But I really like reading a lot of the posts here on this forum, as it's not just about raw food diet, but health in general. So, it's a nice place overall and I hope that we who are not 100% are welcomed.

Different strokes, etc. Some folks are indeed benefited, not misguided, by acid/alkaline theories, candida, parasites. On the other hand, it is true that especially with candida, that's a real hornet's nest. I knew a doctor who diagnosed every single one of his patients, no matter their constellation of symptoms, as having "candida". I see candida as a result of some other thing

From further reading, I think maybe this is not a simple matter. Here are some excerpts I found on natmedtalk. "Nobody is saying that they should avoid adequate copper intake from food. The problem is taking normal (not excess)supplementary copper when the body cannot provide adequate ceruloplasmin, the copper binding protein, to ensure that it is used by the body or excess copper excr

I am so flummoxed by a situation where your mind and heart find certain foods objectionable - yet you feel physically much better when you consume that food. That is just kind of awful and I wish there was some resolution for those of you who experience this. Sometimes I run into articles written by the Weston Price Foundation people and they attribute everything that might be "wrong&qu

Don't y'all add frozen fruit or at least ice cubes to the blender when making your smoothies? Keeps the mix cold and that prevents destruction of certain delicate nutrients, Vit. C for one.

No way are carrot leaves edible. They aren't poisonous, but they are pure, tough fiber and inedible for that reason. Even if they are cooked, which I tried years ago. Ugh.

What you lost over the winter is organic matter, and it didn't really happen during a cold winter (depends where you live, of course) but in the spring, when all that action occurs with the warm temperatures. Plus natural settling. Yes, if your beds are low, the roots will grow into the ground. Of course this depends on how long the roots of your particular plants are and what your "gr

I'd say that this depends on whether your soil is alkaline or acid to begin with. Our soil where I live is alkaline (ph = 8) so I pour diluted vinegar on my potatoes. Since I've been doing this, there is no problem, ever, with scabby potatoes or insect infestation of any kind. I suspect that some of my other crops would benefit from a more acid soil, too. Need to look into this. So, it do
