112 pounds is actually not a bad weight. Most healthy weight recommendations (like those from Dr. Fuhrman and Dr. McDougall) would place a 5'4" female around there (111 and 108, respectively). What really matters is your body fat. I sugest getting one of those hand-held fat monitors, if you don't already have one. I suspect you're probably within the 18-21% range (unless you are completel

Here's all I did this past spring and summer...Starting in April (when it's start getting warm here), I rubbed a bit of diatomaceous earth into all 4 of my pets' fur 1-2x per week. None of them got any fleas or ticks.

Persimmons. She loves them. My maine coon is even weirder. He eats avocado, cherry tomatoes, grapes, and cantaloupe!

The best I've found is Eco-Dent's whitening powder. You can find it at Whole Foods. Tom's of Maine really works, but it contains glycerin.

I'm really loving this smoothie recipe right now: 3 bananas 1 pink dragon fruit, frozen water Blend and devour, adding as much water as you like. Having the dragon fruit frozen makes it really frothy and creamy like a milkshake!

It depends on what is being consumed. If he's eating lots of dried and sticky foods like dried nuts and fruits, it's not going to help. If he's eating fresh, water-rich foods AND following a proper dental routine

It was back in 2007 and I was fed up with my cooked vegan diet that wasn't giving me the results I wanted. Somehow while surfing the web I came across raw foods. I tried it and it didn't work for me. Then I discovered high fruit, low fat raw on a vegan bodybuilding forum and so here I am.

From the article: "He added that while fruit and vegetables have other health benefits, for those who already have a healthy diet, ‘the evidence does not support eating a lot of fruit and vegetables to reduce the risk of cancer’." How can you have a healthy diet if you aren't already consuming AT LEAST 5 servings of fruits and vegetables?! Other than that, I agree. Eating a

I know...more apples! Seriously, it tastes like apple sauce. You can even add a dash of cinnamon if you like.

The skins don't turn black as long as the fridge isn't too cold. Not sure what the temperature is in mine, but it's set to medium.

Actually, you can refrigerate bananas if your fridge is not too cold. I do it all the time in a little mini fridge I have to keep my nanas from ripening too quickly.

And what about home-cooking? People assume that just because they made it, it's healthy. But a hamburger is unhealthy no matter who makes it!

I used to watch Food Network all the time! I especially loved the cake competition shows (I was actually an aspiring cake decorator and planned to open up my own bakery). Once I went vegan, it became more difficult to watch because, as luvyuu mentioned, everything was about "meat, meat, and more meat"! And eating this way is promoted as healthy! :rolls eyese:

Yes, white sapote is awesome! I had it last year for the first time. It was kind of like a mix of apple, pear, and mango!

You can do this with www.nutridiary.com. There is a "meals" tab that allows you to create your own meals that you can save and log without having to reenter all the different foods each time. It's pretty nifty.

I forgot to add bib lettuce and cucumbers! I eat these two quite often throughout the year. Had them both last night in a mango-lettuce-cucumber salad, actually. Yummy!

There is an argument that distilled water can leach minerals (e.g. magnesium and potassium) from the body, but I don't know of any proof that there is a substantial loss. Personally, I just use an over-the-counter water filter.
