Bring a few dollars (donation) and enjoy a delicious raw dinner! Call for more details~ we are getting a monthly thing going on that is hosted at a different house every month- the hosts and whoever else wants to help make the main dish (we are doing dinner instead of a potluck format as myself and my husband have both been to raw potlucks and gone home feeling icky due to poor food combining &am

Hey Frank! I'm in Colorado Springs... not too ridiculously far from Boulder but a world away sometimes! I discovered some groovy happenin's on rawdenver.com which seems to be mainly Denver-based. I know there's a lot going on up there in Boulder, just not sure where! Nice to meet ya, dreampolice... ~ ~ Beth

Oooh! Lucky duck! When I was first getting into the raw & living food lifestyle back in 1999 I ventured out to Rincon to the Ann Wigmore Institute and absolutely loved it! I went through the (at the time) two week program and had such a blast that I ended up staying on doing 'energy exchange'- working in exchange for food and housing- for a few months afterwards. The diet consists mainl

Hello Marcy Lynn! My name is Beth and I live in CSprings with my husband Jasper and our dog Hazelnut. I work @ a natural food store and do massage on the side (a *wee* bit at the moment). I used my yob as an excuse to eat 'healthy cooked vegan food' (ha- cookies, pretzels, energy bars) before my latest 3-day green smoothie cleanse that ended last sunday, and now am excited to have a haven with a

My new favorite recipe... thanks to all of the purslane that's taking over the yard! Nori rolls filled with julienned cucumber, carrot, daikon radish, sprouts, arugula, purslane, a few small catnip leaves, ginger, avocado, and brushed with nama shoyu to seal! YUM!! After discovering this combo I ate it every night for a week!! I could have kept going but ran out of cucumber and my husband

Thanks, aquadecoco! And thanks too, Kit~ I actually have had insomnia lately. I will definitely try out the catnip tea! I hear it's good for enemas too... I never thought about the history of the yard, chickory! I know the people who lived here for the past three years were definitely not into pesticides, but as for before that I really have no idea! I'll have to do a bit of research.

12. Re: HCL
I occasionally take HCl after eating green smoothies. Victoria Boutenko's book Green For Life is a great book to read if you're concerned about the HCl levels in your body. According to her book and others, green smoothies (blended greens + fruit) and celery juice (with high levels of organic salt) are great for helping with HCl levels in your body...

Thanks for the info, Jodi!! Yup, free, catnip is edible and yummmmy! It is in the mint family and is a bit potent~ I usually just toss a few handfuls in with my salad greens~ you may want to munch on a few leaves before adding a large amount to a smoothie!

I keep mine in the fridge for good measure. Usually supplement powders are best kept in a cool, dry location... it should say right on the bottle!

I own both of them and love them both... here are the differences I've discovered! Saladacco/Spiralizer makes fabulous 'angelhair' noodles and spirals. The finer noodles absorb flavor from sauces very well. Very quick and easy to clean (especially if you have a dish brush) Spirooli makes fatter noodles and is a little more versatile. I tend to use this one with larger and odd-shaped veggies

I'm purdy sure it was the maca, applebaby~ I've experienced similar symptoms with maca several times! I'm not sensitive to radishes, aquadecoco, and really not sensitive to anything else that I've discovered except maybe certain molds... I know it's going to be a good thing, though, eventually~ I was definitely drawn to the maca!! & thanks, lady muck... I'm definitely going to be tak

My husband and I have recently moved into a house <yay!> from a dark apartment with no yard <our hobbit hole>, and the more I play in the yard the more I'm discovering how marvelous it is!! I was planting a tomato plant yesterday and as I was pulling weeds I stopped and heard the one I had in my hand ready to yank say "Hi! I'm purslane!" I still yanked the poor fella, b

I have just started integrating maca into my life. The first time I had it in a green smoothie I thought I was going to die~ the suggested serving size was 1 Tablespoon~ I had 1 teaspoon and was in bed with nausea and hot/cold flashes for the rest of the afternoon and evening!! Any thoughts, &/or has anyone else experienced anything like this? I think it's getting betterish, but I'm only usin

Oceanna, Honestly, I do have a few fruit flies hanging around the kitchen!! I would assume that as long as you don't let the fruit 'go too far south' you should be okay, moving them into the fridge once they are super ripe. I can never seem to keep up with that, though!
