I agree that we don't know much about this story but generally an old rusty car does not create an influx of rats and I should know!!! Jalan - a wild garden full of plants rather than a neatly mown lawn will not encourage vermin. It is however a haven for wildlife rather than a sterile monoculture. No one would argue about your 20 bags of kitchen waste however that is not what I was talking a

Jalan - a sign of the times that in England we may not be able to harbour what ever we like in our gardens. I would be outraged to be told that i couldn't have 5 disused cars in my garden - it is my garden - no one else's business. It shouldn't matter if i grow nettles, weeds or roses. My car is 54 years old, my partners landrover is 55 years old - if we couldn't put old, dilapidated 'wrecks'

Absolutely banana who - I'm under no illusion about that hence my last sentence!! We always reckon that we are just a few years behind the States - so i keep a keen eye on what is happening across the pond as it is bound to be on it's way here soon.

Apparently there had been a complaint against this woman - but I don't understand why - for growing medicinal plants? This really wouldn't happen in the UK. I want to know if it is a sign of times to come!

What about a chocolate mousse - avocado, banana, soaked almonds, little bit of cacoa, some dates to sweeten - maybe a passionfruit or rasberries too. My son didn't even realise that I had hidden a bit of spinach in there too!!!! So glad to hear your Mum is eating your soup Curator

In the UK we have always been told that it is dock leaves which help with a stinging nettle sting My partner picks them with his bare hands but I don't. He has very tough hands from a life time of manual work - I think that helps. He also pinches the stem hard and always goes with an upward movement i.e. in the same direction as the hairs not against them. I have never eaten them raw - alw

That's really nice WY. If I'd seen this earlier I would have said to send what you could reasonably afford - a well brought up child would have been grateful for the thought behind the gift no matter how small - or large the amount.

There are many tree leaves that you can eat. You need to do some research - get a book on foraging. In the UK we have been eating young beech leaves recently although they are just getting too mature to be palatable now. Masses of food can be eaten that isn't grown agriculturally - just think about it - only foods that can be profitable are grown commercially. An orang-u tang grazes on up

How many of you go barefoot? Typical of a British summer it has gone from freezing cold to boiling hot in the space of a week.(fingers crossed that we get more than a week of sun this summer!!!) Anyway I go barefoot - everywhere - as soon as it is warm enough to do so - but hardly anybody else does at least here where I live.

Interesting Adamlogan. Did you not prepare food before you went raw? I find it much quicker to throw a salad together than cooking a vegan cooked meal but I have always cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients which takes time. At first I thought your original post was about the benefits or not from mono eating but your last response to me seems to be about time spent in the kitchen. I f

What a lot of words. I just don't like fat - on any body - no matter what they eat. People have got fatter - there's no question about it. When I was a teenager I didn't know one fat boy - now - 30 years later - I know loads of fat teenagers. Sorry Jodi - but i don't like it. Mostly people eat far too much and don't exercise enough - same goes for meat eaters, vegetarians or vegans.

I don't like much in the morning. Usually I juice a couple of apples, 3 carrots, a beetroot, big handful parsley, some dandelion leaves, few slices of fennel and some kale leaves. It's very strong and i love it - i drink it all at once.

I don't do it and I wouldn't do it. My diet is a little limited anyway as i don't make fancy raw creations and a lot of the fresh produce i would like to eat is very expensive or not ripe etc in England. So I eat as wide a variety of fruits and vegetables and wild herbs every day - i think it is sensible to get as many different nutrients on a daily basis as possible. I am in favour of perha

I think that as we developed a complicated language we probably lost other skills such as intuition, and an ability to 'know' things through some kind of telepathic link. We live in such a crazy, 'noisy' world that we never really listen or 'tune in'. I practise reiki and sometimes when I am giving some one reiki I 'hear' a word or a sentence which I share with the person at the end of the s

Also it is not particularly sweet which is what i prefer but you can add more banana or dates to sweeten. Yesterday i put a handful of spinac

Polio has all but been eradicated from the world - there are only four countries left that suffer with it. Millions of healthy children have been struck down by this terrible disease - I'm sure they would rather have had a vaccine then spend the rest of their lives as a cripple. I would say check out the potential problems in the countries that you are visiting and take it from there. I thin

I don't think it matters if your name sounds 'out there' - people will very quickly get used to anything. In this day and age one is constantly hearing names not heard of before. A lot of it is down to your confidence. Be strong with your name - I am Philippa - not Pip, not Pippa, not Phil, not Philli and I correct anyone that starts off by abrieviating my name - they only do it once and th
