I've tried calorie restriction and it didn't work for me. I was always feeling hungry and lethargic. So for me, calorie restriction isn't good.

Today, I had some coconut water and grapes. In the 5 days before going raw, I hardly consumed anything. I admit that I ate somethings that weren't raw. I'm not very hungry, and haven't been so in a couple of days. I feel so much better, in harmony with myself. I know that with raw, I can get rid of my mental health issues for good.

As of this Friday, I'm going back to being 100% Raw. It's been a long time since I last wrote an entry in to my journal. I fell of the raw path last year...and have ballooned up to 268 lbs. I have nearly 100 lbs to lose and I know it won't be easy. I've been meat free for nearly 3 days. I need to drink more water, since I'm very prone to dehydration. I'll just keep my diet simple, lots

I've been sick with conjunctivitis and a lung infection, so I haven't been able to update my blog like I should. Until my finances are in order, I will eat mostly vegan and as much raw food as I possibly can afford. This years was very tough for me financially. I hope that the New Year brings me better luck.

It was a combination of finances and cravings. Financially, I've been struggling to get by. And I didn;t have enough money to buy everything raw. So I went back to cooked. The cravings were (and still are) strong. I've managed not to eat meat for nearly 3 months...but I still have a long way to go before I fully conquer my cravings.

Yesterday, I bought 29oz of Nutiva Extra-Virgin Cococnut Oil (which is raw and unrefined). I used to buy it from BotanicalExpo.com, but found it for cheaper at my local Vitamin Shoppe. I used to pay $15.50 for a 16 oz container of oil (S&H included) I paid $14.99 at my Vitamin Shoppe store (in person, no S&H) If I had've bought the 29oz from BotanicalExpo, I would've paid ove

It's been a while since I last posted. I will admit that I wasn't 1oo% raw. Financial woes set me back quite a bit. But now I'm back on track. I have a "new" blender and food processor. After reading Victoria Boutenko's book "Green for Life", I started making green smoothie on a daily basis. I have photos of my green concoction on my blog.

My periods have been irregular ever since 2001. Sometimes I'd have my period every two months. Once I had my first child in 20023, it got even crazier. Sometimes it's last for 3 days and sometimes for 7. One year, I had it for 2 days. Last month, I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar in 8ox of water and 1 tsp of Baking Soda. I did this a week before my period started NO CRAMPS OR PMS! Not one a

My friend J will be assisting me (financially). I asked him for help...and he said yes. I'll need a dehydrator and a good food processor. My landlord has one...but won't let anyone use it (including myself). It has been sitting unused for nearly 2 years (kept on saying he needs to properly set it up). I don't want it, anyway. First of all, there's no thermostat (just an on/off switch). Whic

I am now a certified Raw Vegan Chef. I took Alissa Cohen's Level 1 Chef Certification yesterday. There was only one other participant there. The woman was right when she said the class would be kept very small. I learned a lot about the different appliances I can use and the wonderful yummy foods I cam make for others. My next move is to find employment. With Raw, the possibilities are

I found the smoothie kits in the grocery section, where the refrigerated foods are. That and the frozen veggies are the only things that they have raw. My locak King Kullen has frozen fruits...but they're too expensive. Usually I go to Pathmark to get my smoothie ingredients.

You're supposed to brush your teeth (and tongue) after drinking the lemonade mixture. That way, you avoid having any problems.

I plan on starting next month off with a lemonade fast. In the past, I managed to go one day before caving in and eating solid food. I realized that I wasn't ready to do it...but now I am. There are alternatives to maple syrup: Molasses Agave Syrup Yacon Syrup (new)

Just make sure that your friend uses maple syrup that hasn't been processed using formaldehyde pellets. Although it's illegal to use formaldehyde during syrup production, their are some companies that still do it.

I just came from the mall. Within, theres a supermarket and a Target that I go to often. I had no idea that Target sold smoothie kits (complete with frozen fruit). The smoothie powder does contain casein (I throw that out). I also purchased nearly a pound of Medjool dates. I don't get them often because of the price ($7.99/lb). But they're really tasty and not super-sweet. Next week, I'll b

Yeah, nori rolls. I've heard about using cauliflower in place of the sushi rice. I was thinking about soaking sushi rice and seeing how it comes out.
