i think you may be right... it may be a "cooked" food craving versus a "protein" craving. hopefully i'll make it through this time... :*( how many of you slowly transitioned? what kind of transition foods did you eat? for those who went raw "overnight", did you have these kind of cravings too? thanks, m.

hi all, i'm having a difficult time right now. i love to eat fruit...but i'm not a "sweet" person and too much sugar makes me feel funky...and really makes me crave protein. overall, i crave protein in the form of beans and tofu. if i try to compensate by eating fatty foods such as nuts and avocadoes (even in small amounts), i feel toxic and sick. i'm frustrated because i wan

iron toxicity usually occurs from taking supplements (because they are readily absorbed form). iron that comes from plants (non-heme) isn't as efficiently absorbed in the body. it would be nearly impossible to "overdose" on iron by eating lots of vegetables. peace! m

minerals. all of them. and a broad spectrum of amino acids which make up proteins. and chlorophyll. fruit contains sugar, some vitamins and minerals depending on the fruit. greens are a more nutritionally packed than fruits on a micronutrient basis. peace! m.

hi jadedshade.... as well, i suffered from cystic acne. raw made huge improvements with my skin...with a few added things to help me along the way. i believe flaxseed oil made a HUGE difference. the fat in it fights inflammation and the lignins help to balance out defunct hormonal patterns. many of my friends who have been suffering with eczema their whole life started taking flaxseed oil

ally... again, check out the interview with victoria boutenko on www.rawvegan.com. it's 54 minutes long...but it's worth it. she has done a lot of research on the matter after being raw for seven years and her whole family's health began to deteriorate (losing hair/graying hair, brittle nails, no energy, intense cravings). i think she has already published a book called "greens for lif

p.s. the reason you may be unable to tolerate greens is due to a Hcl deficiency that is imperative to help digest green foods. by eating more greens, you body will actually begin to icrease Hcl production over time. i hope this helps! peace! m.

greens are very very very important. they contain all the necessary minerals that we need to be healthy. fruits and nuts do not contain the broad spectrum mineral base. if we look at our closest relative in the animal kingdom, the chimpanze, it has been observed that 40% of their diet come from greens, 50% fruits and a small percentage of insects. victoria boutenko has a FABULOUS radio show w

80. vinegar
i love fermented foods....saurkraut (raw fermented with lemon juice only), raw vinegars, raw kombucha, nutritional flakes, etc. is there an issue with eating these feeds? i've heard people say they "stay away" from vinegar. what i've read is that vinegar aids in mineral absorption (due to it's acidic nature) and is full of probiotics which is beneficial for digestive health. are
