No way are you a wimp!!! I think 3 days on a water fast is an enormous success!!! If you really feel like you need to stop then you should have no reservations to do so... there is plenty of time for other fasts and it is definitely not unheard of to ease into it all slowly. In fact it might be more healthy that way since it is not such a shock to your system. All the best! Lisa

sunshine79 - So glad you posted about this! I have heard of that method but I've always been a bit nervous to try it as I haven't ever met anyone personally who does this regularly! Definitely going to give it a go since you and your sister have had good results. Just outta curiosity is your hair curly or straight? Lisa

Most juices will begin to lose nutrients after a few hours and should really be consumed right away... or at least within 24 hours of being made (if refrigerated.) I do know some vegetable juices can remain refrigerated for up to 48 hours with minimal loss of nutrients. In other words fresh tends to be best but I doubt it matters if the juice is consumed within 2 days.

I like the Green Star 3000 I should add here that green stars are ridiculously expensive and if I hadn't inherited mine from my step mother who likes to buy (i.e. collect and never use) every gadget under the sun I would have definitely gone with something more cost effective!

taylor I have heard in some instances detox symptoms can be delayed for quite some time... and in some cases you might not even experience detox symptoms at all! It really just depends on the person. "but that was not detox-there was a storm coming.rain-i always get that before and during rains." My husband gets the same way! When pressure drops significantly his joints som

"I don't know why I still hang out here, it is supposed to be light entertainment and a study break but sometimes but it feels otherwise." arugula, I for one find your posts informative and fascinating. I really hope you stick around as I believe your perspective is very much needed.

Hi rosemary, I don't have much advice for you but I wanted to respond to you as I had a friend have a bout of this and she was absolutely miserable... so I do hope you feel better soon! Rehydration will definitely ease the water lost by diarrhea etc... don't drink too much too fast though because that can trigger more nausea/vomiting. Lisa

Wow I didn't realize there are such serious issues with Thai coconuts and fungicide... this must be a North American thing??? We do not dip our coconuts in anything in Jamaica.

No no that doesn't sound goofy at all and I can understand your wariness to order online (though I do quite frequently, I only order from very known and reputable sources). How many more days left do you have on your water fast and how are you feeling so far? Lisa

Hi taylor! I have used the Benriner spiral slicer (a friend of mine got one for Christmas) and I thought it worked fantastic. It didn't appear to be cheaply made in fact quite the opposite... I found it to be quite sturdy. Its made of a hard resin if memory serves me correct and it really seemed to do well with hard root veggies like carrots and daikons. Most of the slicers/appliances/equ

Hey Devric... my husband is from Cleveland, OH. Your description of Ohio cracks me up (mainly because its so darn accurate!) I agree with sunshine79 and Cecilia's recommendations to read Gabriel Cousens books. I have found them to be well written and very thorough.

I think a lot of things in general are easier when you are by yourself and do not have to be concerned with other opinions, lifestyles etc... but I also think that success could depend on the type of people you live with. I am married and my husband is not raw though he has no problem eating the raw meals I make and respects my food choices. I, in turn, respect his food choices and when he oc

I like both young and mature coconuts. I am fortunate enough to have a couple of coconut palms on my property. I love the texture of younger coconut meat but I also love the amount of things I can do with more mature coconut meat (making coconut milk, shredding it to add to soups/salads etc)

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa and I'm 25. I am Jamaican (though I moving to Florida, more specifically the Miami area, in the next 8 to 10 months). Because I live in such a tropical environment and the year round availability of fresh produce, I have been about 75% raw for most of my adult life quite by accident really... I wasn't even aware of the raw "movement" until a year ago when s
