Thanks so much for all the advice...I didn't even factor in the lower salt intake. I will try that and see if that helps! I am also going to try and take my transistion a little slower...I tend to jump full force into things when they make me feel good and it is positive...tends to be a problem some times. Even when I "think" I am moving slowly, my slow may just be a "slower fas

Ledouxc, you are absolutely right. Sometimes it really does help to be reminded about the "simple things" that we can do to make us physically and mentally better. In our busy lives, sometimes it is easy to forget what we should be doing and get trapped into autopilot mode. Wow, David, it is really interesting to hear of your struggles. I have read many of your posts and really

That is interesting, David. I have actually been going through some stressful times lately and have found myself in a real slump. Coincidently, the more depressed I have felt, the more my body has been reacting with the lightheadedness and the nausea. I keep thinking, "but raw is to make me feel good, right?" I have been changing over since February of this year and it has been a

Hi everyone! I was curious to see if anyone has experienced increasing amounts of lightheadedness/dizziness while increasing their raw intake. I have noticed it more and more as of late. I am about 75% raw at this stage. At first, I stood back and evaluated my nutritional intake for being low in sugars, iron, or calories. I am definitely taking in plenty of calories and sugar (in the forms o

Hi, Amanda! I am from Lancaster, PA and my boyfriend lives in Hegins, PA (near Ashland, Tower City, etc). So, I am here and there and not to far from you I am currently about 60-75% raw and am loving it and how it makes me feel. I have been so for about 2-3 months. Welcome to the site Tansy

RAW1228... I think that you need to get a little more help than this site will allow you...I don't think it is this site, rather something much deeper that you are dealing with. You are consistently back and forth and here and there...throwing in the towel and then, suddenly, ready to take extraordinary action. Listen, we all have our issues and I have listened and coached friends and family

Hey, I am really sorry to hear about your loss and your reactions make complete sense. Do what you have to do until that cloud over your head begins to clear, but I would hate to see you completely throw in the towel! This is a tough week and you should focus on getting mentally back into the game rather than on slipping up in the raw food area. Ya know, isn't it ironic how this is all a vicio

Hey..what is going on over there???? Do you know how much I have succumbed in the past few days??????? More than you can imagine, but we are just starting on this and I look at that as being completely normal! I eat something not raw (even horrible for you) and I get so angry and then I think..tomorrow is a better day and I make a mini goal...stick with it..you CAN do it now and you SHOULD do

Hey Brian! I am so sorry that I can not get back to you so quickly...I do not have easy access to a computer right at the moment. I am working on getting internet into my new place, so now, I have to rely on using a computer when and where I can get one. I AM NOT dead here...just internetless I have access on the weekends, but during the week is every few days! I am very interested in w

Hi Brian, How is your day treating you? Yes, I had the sugar kind...and not raw sugar You were very good this Easter...I am so impressed! I did not do so well, overall, but I have been very good, so I look at it as only 1 step back rather than a mile's worth. Mary's Gone!! I know them and I LOVE them. They are delicious. At first, i was not sure, but then by the second handful, I was a

Hi Brian! Happy Easter to you..did you eat any raw Easter "eggs??" No..me either, but I did succumb to the cooked horrible sugar kind. A moment of weakness Anyway, thanks for the directions to Sonnewald! I plan to make a trip there in the near future. How are your night time munchies going? Have you tried any "tricks" or made any progress that has been progress for y

For years, I have been searching to have that glow and that look and feel of health, but never could seem to find it. My skin would mildly look well, but it was not consistent and I just saw that as normal. When I look at pics of people who have inspired me along the way and you can just see in them what one, personally, has been searching for..well...that was my first bit of motivation to chan

Thanks for all of your words of encouragement Wow..that is interesting that he just fell in your lap. I so believe in the whole concept of fate and how we are turned on to new ideas and attitudes that later shape us as who we are to become! Sonnewalds...hmm..I have not ventured on the whole sprouting route, but I am soooo interested and, in all of my health stores here, I have not yet seen

In the "bodybuilding world" there are sort of three different main categories (that I am aware of..haha). Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure (the last two being only for women). Figure is more about athletics and symmetry rather than amount of muscle mass. We are not to be too lean or too muscular, however, we are much more muscular than some chick walking down the beach in a bikini

Wow..it is a small world! LOL..I do figure competitions and I know EXACTLY what you mean about the protein concept. I really want to continue to compete, so I am trying to find the nice balance that works for me. What was hardest for me was getting over the notion that fruit is the evil of all evils and that I am to only eat spinach and broccoli...you obviously know what I mean! Since I ha

With my next batch of Almond milk, I am going to use the pulp for a facemask...should I mix that with anything? Is it beneficial just the way it is? I can not use oils because my complexion is already oily! Everything that I have read so far just talked about using the pulp as a facial or mixing it with oil for a body scrub. Any other suggestions for a fantastic facial?

Avocadess, you never add oil? Is water enough to keep it's consistence? I don't mind if it is not creamy..I am used to that! If I don't have to add so much oil, that is ok with me!

I have been reading a lot about Hemp protein and I was curious to see how it compared. I was tempted to buy some, but you are right, it is expensive and I did not want to just buy on a whim. I am curious about the rice protein. I will have to check it out. That is interesting about the toxin topic that Veganathlete was talking about. I guess I get worried when I start to see something happen

I was wondering if anyone had ideas as to what I could do with the almond pulp after I strain it for almond milk. Is it alright to reuse it? I really hate to waste that delicious almond if I can reuse it

Interesting, Arugula! I starting by eliminating my protein supplements because they are not raw and I am getting softer. I am thinning, but I am concerned it is more muscle mass. At first, I thought it was my imagination, however, I know my body and, yep, I was right Any clue as to what is the best raw protein to use? I was looking at the hemp protein powder, but I have never used it, or ev

Hi Dave! Welcome...I am newer to the site too and it has been so informative and inspirational so far. I am sure you are going to love it! As for your question...I absolutely agree with you. Now, I do love vegetables, but, because some produce can get expensive (and confusing as to what to do with them) I had tended to gravitate to the "staples." My best advice to you is to make
