Hello, Respected 1989, If you go one page back on the recipe forum (Page 2), you'll see a strand that says "Wrap Fillings GALORE!" It has LOTS and LOTS of quick and easy raw recipes. Give it a look. There's a lot of variety and yet they are simple (not gourmet). You might want to try some. Good luck.

When I lived in New Zealand there were very few gun-related crimes and I felt very safe. Even the police did not carry guns. When there was a serious crime, the Armed Offenders Squad was called out, but that was rare. Here are the TOTAL HOMOCIDES IN NEW ZEALAND each year from 2000 to 2009 from <www.gunpolicy.org> the first site that came up on google: 2009: 11 2008: 7 2007: 5 2006:

Whoops. You're right, KidRaw, it says Politics or Economics. I guess it was subconscious wishful thinking for me to write "religious posts" there. I knew it didn't say that, but wasn't careful with thinking about what I had written before sending it.

Oh, so you were responding to Living Food, whoever that is. Sorry then Rayshak. I though you two were together some how. I apologize to you. I don't know much about sprouting, but there is a forum on it and you might want to ask questions there or on the main forum, if you don't get a response. I'm sure there are lots of people who would like to help you. A long time ago when Jodi (the raw food b

Living Food and Rayshak, your two posts above look suspiciously like an ad for srpoutpeople.org and frankly I resent you commandeering my personal strand for your ad! That's no way to get me to buy anything from you, in fact it has the opposite result. I'd appreciate it for you to go away.

Wow, banana who, I didn't say you were argumentative. I felt that HH and I were getting into shaky ground and wanted to express appreciation for the comments that welcomed alternative views. That was the purpose of my post to begin with - - to welcome people with different views and to promote a safe place for them to participate. As you mentioned, this forum has been tilting more heavily in one

Good point, HH. I am quite busy with work and just scan some of my favorite sites when I get home, but if I want different topics here, I should put forth some effort. I'll think about it. If I have time for it I will.

Whoops. HH, you have posted two more times before I responded to the one above them. P. S.: My husband owns two guns. I believe my views about guns are moderate and think it is strange how people think others can only be far left or far right on that issue. But no, I don't care to debate gun control with you or others on this forum.

Thank you, HH. I sincerely appreciate your comment above because you are welcoming dialog and opinions that might be different from your own. I think that is good for encouraging people who have different views to feel comfortable expressing them. I often don't comment here for fear of being overwhelmed with harsh or picky criticism and argumentativeness. The very first line on this forum say

So much for tolerance of me. Not much. I'm apparently a minority. Here I'm labelled an "insider" - HA! I'm not complaining to Prana, though. I'm just saying that I'd like it to be more welcoming for more diverse views here and was encouraging others to write in. But for me to say that I disagree with some of what one person has written is apparently not welcome.

John Rose, I disagree with the tone and content of many of your comments. I am not asleep and resent your insinuation that people who do not share your views are ignorant. I get my information from many sources, but have decided that yours should not be one of them, so although you may leave another of your lengthy comments, I won't be reading it. HH, some of the "gentler" people tha

If you're new to raw food and have just found this website or have been lurking for a while, please write in. You're welcome here. The frequency and intensity of strands on this forum with heavy political leanings, gun promotion, etc., can make it appear that everyone around here is politically charged, contentious, or a know-it-all. When I first came here it was a much more laid back and gen

Want to see a weird fruit? I lived in Hawaii, but never saw one of these. Apparently they don't taste so good, but the colors are wild! Go to this link for a photo: Wikipedia doesn't show the inside, but here is more info:

My goodness Rayshak. What kind words to me. Thank you. And then to read that your are going through testing for a lump in your breast. If you close your eyes for a minute, you'll feel that I'm squeezing your hand gently and smiling with you during the wait and whatever the results. While waiting for the test and results, remember that it may be negative. If it isn't, know that testing

Yes, Mindy, I have been a big fan of green smoothies. I just hadn't purchased a blender since moving back to the US. It's great to have one now, though. I wish it were a fancy schmancy expensive one, but it'll do for now. I haven't ever had a juicer, but when I spent a summer in Australia as often as I could I'd have a carrot/ginger/orange juice that was made right in front of me. They are my

WOW! WOW! WOW! Thank you AGAIN, Panchito! I recently had a mastectomy for Stage I breast cancer and am at home and doing quite well. I have always had a fairly good diet, even when not 100% raw, so I imagine it was stress and other unknown environmental factors that must have contributed to its cause. However, I trust that reducing stress (which I have done) and focusing on my diet will keep me h

Hi, Mindy, Thank you for your kind thoughts. Congratulations to your mother. I have a third cousin who had a mastectomy over 20 years ago, so since mine was Stage I, was clear around the margins and hadn't spread to the lymph nodes, I feel confident that I'll do well too. As to juicing, I just recently bought a blender and am ready to go to it! Although I'm still at home, I'm a

Seeing her cry affects me, but there are a lot of "shoulds" of what should have been done here. The woman says that they should have called her before calling the police. True. However, she should have called them when she was sending children outside to walk home in that hour - preferably before sending them out, but definitely shortly after sending them out to confirm that they

Ya know... even when I have had periods of eating "badly" in my adult life, it was only in comparison to myself - not what people would generally think was BAD (i.e., no fried food, no red meat, no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, etc.), so it is hard to believe food was the cause of me getting cancer. Maybe it was some environmental factor? I wish I knew. Oh, well, I trust it is behind

Very tired. Not eating much, but enjoyed fresh blueberries and delicous salad made by husband. (He's making his own meals and can do more in kitchen than he has let on! Wonderfully supportive person.) Thank you Prana and Ivi rose for your kind words.

This feels like more of a personal diary - that others don't read postings here very often, but in case someone does, I had my surgery yesterday and it went very well. The cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. Yay! And I'm home already. Not wanting to eat much at all. Body needs to spend its time healing.

I'm not supposed to cook or do housework after surgery tomorrow (right mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy). Fresh fruit will be easy and my husband can chop salads for me. I imagine I won't be hungry for a while as my body focuses on healing.

My mastectomy surgery is set for Wednesday. Less than a week away. Believe it or not, when I was doing all the preliminary things for being admitted, a nurse took time to talk with me about good nutrition! He gave me readings and youtube videos about plant-based diets, fresh fruits and veggies, eliminating dairy, etc. He even talked about things like the benefits of raw pineapple core! I'm back

I came across this article on raw foods from Scientific American. Why would I expect there to be studies with "scientific" proof? Silly me.
