THE END Unfortunately, it seems I have parasites. Disgusting, I know. I had been raw in past, but fell off wagon and went back to cooked and junk food for some time, and the bad guys apparently invaded. Will switch to anti-parasite diet and go on cleanse before fasting again. Pineapple, carrot juice, raw pumpkin seeds, raw garlic, cayenne, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, food grade diato

Day 5 Staying true. 1 gallon of orange juice today. I am really hoping the farmer's market has watermelon tomorrow, but they probably won't. lol Feeling good for the most part. Hunger comes and goes. Abdomen grumbles now and then, but not much. Didn't have much irritability yesterday. :-) Have avoided physical detox symptoms until now, but this morning I woke up with tender area u

Experience has taught me that most people think this is nuts, and will cling to what they were taught about nutrition until they have at least one foot in the grave. In order to keep myself from getting miffed when others make silly comments, I let myself feel all superior. lol No one I know does raw, so I end up not talking about it much. When I do, and others insist that this or that is i

Day 4 Staying true. 1 gallon of orange juice for today. Amazing energy yesterday evening! I flew through household chores, some spring cleaning as well, and when it was bedtime I was not tired. Took me a while to get to sleep because I had so much unspent energy. :-) Yesterday evening, I also had enhanced sense of smell. It was more of an aggravation than anything else, as you clea

Look in your yellow pages for produce distributors in your area. I buy oranges and bananas in 40 lbs boxes. Don't save too much buying bananas this way, but still some. But on oranges, I save a lot buying this way. You also might look for farmer's markets in your area. I see lots of savings on locally grown produce there. Most of the farmers aren't certified organic, but some of them use a

SMH. lol As mean as it may be, I am content to watch people bump their butts. Truth is not so popular these days, especially without a spoonful of sugar. lol

You're right. Slow and steady will win the race for you. But I can't go slow. I've done got too big to be able to wipe my own behind without some serious creative thought. TMI, I know. lol

I've done a few juice fasts, and the master cleanse. Advice I had read years ago about juice fasting said to take enemas, because enemas were less likely to over stimulate the digestive system than laxative teas. So anytime I juice fast, I do at least one enema per day. It absolutely gets the job done. Also, on Master Cleanse, I tried the saltwater flush. Did it more than 10 years ago fo

Day 3 1 gallon fresh orange juice. Staying true. Not too difficult so far. Detox symptoms have not kicked in yet. Due to past experience, I believe this is due to the coffee enemas. I've been having 2 a day (1 morning 1 evening). Used 48 oz this morning because adjusting to them is difficult, and I will refrain from saying why. No need. :/ But in a past juice fast without coffee ene

If it has a thick skin, I peel the skin and juice it. Oranges and lemons, pineapple, apples. If I juice any root vegetables, or anything that has a thin skin, or a skin that can't be easily peeled, I always get organic. Might be bad, but I ain't dead yet, so take it for what it's worth...

A man named Harley Jonstone got rid of his crohn's with vegan and raw, and I think he did it without supplements and cleanses (though I'm not dead sure). He is usally referred to as Durian Rider. durianrider is one of the youtube channels he has, and his main site is a free forum called 30 bananas a day (google it). He may be able to offer helpful advice for this. Warning: he is thought of

Oops, forgot to add, on a juice fast you should make sure that you strain all the pulp out of your juice. The pulp can trigger hunger, because it seems to overstimulate the digestive system during this time when it is supposed to be taking a rest. Paint strainer bags are a cheap thing you can use, and are better and much faster than hand held sieves.

My ideal juicer would be fast to use, fast easy cleanup, be able to handle all fruits/vegetables/greens, and be able to get the highest amount of juice from all of them. I don't think it exists. :-(

I've done a few, one of them was 2 week juice fast, and a I'm into my 2nd day this time around. The thing that works for me is to ignore the rule that says stop drinking juice so many hours before bed. I drink as much juice as I want, for as long up to bedtime as I want. It's just the only way I can do it, and I still get detox and I still get benefits. This isn't something you asked about,

Day 2 Staying true. I forgot how difficult it is to get used to coffee enemas. But with practice, it doesn't take long. When 90 day juice fast is over, I will transition into 80-10-10, or Gerson Therapy diet. Not sure which yet, but probably 80-10-10. Will post a before video to youtube in a couple days. I have to review the rules to see if I can post the link here. I will hold o

Welcome Val. You have my empathy. I'm the only person i know interested so in raw. It is strange when no one you know eats the way you do. Congratulations on your weight loss and health improvement! That's what it's all about.

Hi Val. So far, so good. This is day 2 for me. Have you gone on juice fasts in the past? If so, what was the longest one you ever went on? Looking for all the people who have been on 2 week+ juice fasts, and wondering about their experiences. Regardless, hit me up anytime. I need to interact with other raw foodies as well, as there is no one in my real life that does this. Peace a

Day 1 So far, so good. Will add coffee enemas to routine this evening. 1-3 a day. I know from past experience that it can eliminate or greatly reduce detox symptoms.

Welcome, Snapdragon. Glad to see another here who is taking care of their parent. I am 41 and a fulltime caregiver to my Mom who has dementia. It is difficult at times, but rewarding and transformative. Screw right and wrong in this diet thing. There is what makes you healthier and what doesn't. I wish you and your Mom the best in this journey. :-)

Tomorrow is hopefully day 1 of a 90 day juice fast. I'll be getting at least 1500 calories a day. I'd call it a juice feast instead of a juice fast, if I had the equipment to juice greens. My little oster blender doesn't have enough power to chew up greens, and my juicer is a cheap centrifugal juicer which cannot handle greens, no matter if I push them down with hard veg/fruit or not. My othe

I am new here, so greetings everyone. :-) Going on a 90 day juice fast. Probably will post pics and youtube vids of progress. The fast is for getting rid of some nagging health problems, and hopefully a hell of a lot of the 80 lbs I need to get rid of. I've lurked here before, and it looks like a good active board with good people. Peace and Love to all.
