Hello! I've been trying to love zoodles for many, many years. But the fact of the matter is that I find raw zucchini is just not my thing! I've not found any way to make its texture more resembled the full-bodied texture and flavour that cooked pasta has. And if there's one thing I've found is that there is always a way to make raw food resemble cooked food close enough to be satisifed when

I went to Hippocrates in 2010, after 20 years trying to successfully being raw vegan yet hadn't made it. They saved my life, literally. When I flew out to them, I honestly didn't know if I'd be coming back home! Things were not yet extremely critical, but I was going down and going down fast (there's an instinctual thing involved there based also on extrapolatory trajectory!). After 3 weeks m

I missed Prana's PM reply sent the same day. I just sent a message to the webmaster as it's partly fixed. When you choose the "Notify Me", it does take you to a page now to enter your email into and choose what to be notified of, but when pressing that button leads one to another error message. So we're nearly there! I'll keep checking back and will advise ... Cheers!

Jennifer, thank you so much for your help re this! I finally had a moment and came back and just sent a PM to Prana. Hopefully a fix can be applied. During Covid, it's been a heck of a lot easier to keep up with things but when life gets back to normal (which it will!!), getting a digest of posted messages will prevent losing touch again. Cheers! Di.

One of the things I realized a few minutes ago as that "out of sight, out of mind" ... so I came to the website and tried to find a way to get at least a digest of the messages being posted. I've maintained connections better when I've received notifications of posted messages (I am not a Facebooker and hope to never be, and really prefer forums). But when I went to sign up for the

Saying hello from Canada! I've been predominantly raw vegan (with some cooked vegan here and there) since November 1990, so 30 years now. And it makes life just so much better! Glad to start making friends in the raw food community as I've been away for so long! Cheers, Diana. D

I'm back after a long absence and see that it is, indeed, a bit of a "ghost town" <g>. Good term. Raw food is hard, but only if you're missing things in it. I have battled, and am still battling, but I found the answer when I went 10 years ago to Hippocrates Health Institute (HHI). They gave us the "formula" to follow and it works! Unfortunately, it's been 10 year

Hello! I've been absent from this forum for a long time. Glad to see there is some activity here, though it's not as active as it used to be. I've been predominantly raw vegan, as we tend to call it now (or, how about, "raw" whole food, plant-based, lol -- keeps changing, but it's all the same time pretty much) since November 1990. How is everyone?

Hi, everyone! My quest for a "savoury ball" of some sort is a sage that has been ongoing for a few years <g>. I've tried to come up with something for years but am still stumped. I need something that dries to a very crisply dry consistency yet still tastes good esp. after rehydrating in a savoury sauce or dressing of some kind. See, I recently found the perfect topping for

Oh, boy, I am soooo sorry to hear that and I sympathize! I have colon/digestion issues myself and found that I can eat maybe one batch of raw hummus made from sprouted chickpeas but only once in a blue moon! And it's not 100% comfortable, either. I came back from Hippocrates Health Institute in the summer of 2010 with their raw hummus recipe, happy that I'd have an easy-to-make recipe in my re

A question via a concern - fermentation crock pots are very difficult to find locally, the ones like the German ones with a water well around the top to create a seal that are more foolproof than other methods. They're hard to find and so you have to order online which involves a lot of cost as they're so heavy and even the smallest 5L one goes for about Cdn$125! I found a place in our Chinat

Thank you, SueZ, for your great response!! I'm glad to know there is something out there that is accessible for purchase. I am concerned, though, re the fact that it's not approved and you see sparking <sigh>. That's a deal-breaker for me at this point. If I don't find something else will go for it, out of desperation <g>, but will keep looking. I really need to find something.

I've been searching for a few months now and haven't found anything locally that will wet grind things like hummus and such. The Vitamix is super but it requires AT LEAST 2 cups of ingredients in order to do a good job. I have usually only 1/2 cup of ingredients to grind on any given day (I don't like to make large batches, they don't taste good after a few hours). Magic Bullet is useless for

I've grown wheatgrass okay for a while after over 10 years of trying but to grow without mold means a lot of work which has never seemed right, esp. since some people just plant it and forget it almost and how zero mold issues. To say I've tried everything is an understatement - in 2003 I bought food-grade hydrogen peroxide which didn't help; and throughout the intervening times I've tried so

Hi everyone! I've been growing sunseed and pea shoot sprouts in soil for about 4 years now. These grow beautifully. But water-based or small seeds, I just don't have much luck with. When I eat at raw vegan restaurant, I'm always so amazed at how pristine and beautiful the small alfalfa and other sprouts, the kind not grown in soil, are. And I've never in over 10 years grown anything half that

Ah, the answer is no. Sometimes starting fresh helps, as happened today. I registered (for free), but nothing changed in the screen. So I looked again for info and I found this page, finally: - You press on SHARE and if there is an option to download, if the author allows for dl, it would be there. And no, figures. The magazine doesn't allow for downloads. Rats. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the replies, I didn't get a notification so didn't realize there'd been a response. Thanks but I should have mentioned that I tried that. I then took a screenshot but the printout was and is barely readable. That's why I came and then posted the question here. No, still wanting to find a way to dl, unfortunately <sigh>. I thought it might be a free magazine and I was jus

Oh, p.s., thought I should add how I work with the frozen almond pulp. Because broken-down raw foods are so full of things everything on the earth likes to consume (including bacteria, etc.!), I freeze the almond pulp after making almond mylk because it just wouldn't keep very well any other way. I put the almond pulp on a circle of parchment paper on a plate WHICH HAS A CIRCLE OF FREEZER PAP

The absolute best thing I started making with frozen almond pulp is Amie Sue Oldfather's (NouveauRaw) croutons. Before her recipe that I made for first time a couple months back or so, I'd never found any light, crispy raw vegan recipe that worked! The secret is in the lightness of the almond pulp! Even bone-dry, you won't break your teeth on them! The only thing I'd add is oil, i.e., olive

Hi, everyone! A couple months back or so, I found this really interesting-looking recipe for bread: But the magazine is presented weirdly. Does anyone know how to dl a good, plain ol' PDF copy of that magazine? It's too tough to read on the screen. Thanks so much!

Today, I'm going to work without my almond fettucine sauce because, as has happened several times in the past, I can't get the lid off my Magic Bullet! Once and for all, I'll like to find a solution to the grinding issues. Here are the problems: - Vitamix is not very good at all for grinding seeds mixture for crackers, etc., for mixtures that aren't very liquidy when under 2 cups - Magic

The 3rd video came in mailbox so was able to get the URLs myself despite no answers here. The 3 videos are preparation for new course Russell James has done up. Now there are arguments all over the place re the suitability of chocolate in one's diet - raw or not - but I personally am definitely okay with chocolate as a once-in-a-while treat and certainly not for everyday consumption. And it'

Hi, everyone! Darned if I didn't accidentally delete the email I received today (I think it was sent today ...) regarding a second video on making raw chocolate. I got the video but forgot about the PDFs. I went to the first video, too, and did the same thing (got the vid but forgot the PDF). Anyone else that is also subscribed to Russell's info, do you still his email with the link? Can

At Hippocrates in 2010, they gave us sprouted manna bread that you can buy anywhere in any health food store (Nature's Path is name, maybe? Forget.). It's not 100% raw but close to it. I'm gluten-intolerant but I don't feel anything when I eat this bread and I've been eating it regularly for years. Before HHI, I felt guilty but since then, and following their philosophy that you just do the

Has anyone come across a way to process garlic somehow (in the D, maybe?) so that it comes out like roasted garlic? Rawmazing's latest recipe calls for roasted garlic but I'd like to go strictly raw (http://www.rawmazing.com/roasted-garlic-and-sun-dried-tomato-vegan-cheese/#more-14270). The cheese sounds amazing, though, despite the one cooked element. Cheers.
